Kindly note that ‘counter’ bookings are along the kitchen bar in front of the chefs and ‘high-top’ bookings are our two small tables adjacent to the kitchen bar.
Delicious food, friendly staff
Easily my favorite restaurant of a long trip to Rome and London. Great service, wines by the glass, food quality, and adorable intimate setting.
Had such a wonderful evening taking my boyfriend out for his birthday. Looking forward to finding a following special occasion to visit again. I could happily eat here everyday but as it is such a special place, I want to save it for celebratory moments. From the cocktail upstairs, to surprising him at the side door! The chefs were super friendly and happy to chat and explain what they were making, the staff were happy and funny people and made you feel accommodated in every way. The noise was a good level - able to have a conversation with the person next to you without having to shout over music yet not so silent that it felt sterile. Food price was very fair and the wine list was very well priced! Good vibes all around, I look forward to future visits!
Fabulous food and very good service! It’s great to watch the chefs at work in the kitchen and the food they deliver is really worth every penny.
Perfect spot for a romantic date. The food and service were outstanding!
Absolutely amazing. We immediately booked to come back.
This spot continues to be my favourite to bring friends for a good conversation over dinner. Always buzzy but not so loud that one needs to raise voices to talk. The menu has new and old favourites each time—never had a bad dish. Bonus for work dinners: their multiple seating each evening means that the charming Maitre D helps to usher your conversation upstairs to the bar, a transition that allows for a natural opportunity to end the evening, rather than getting caught in the colleague-loop of the endless post-desert cycles of chat.
Extraordinary! Excellent food and very friendly staff! Fun and exquisite!
1/ Great atmosphere thanks to a very friendly and helpful waiter,
2/ Superb experience to eat at the bar while seeing the chefs cooking,
3/ Nice decoration and the place feels cozy as it is very small.
A very special place for dinner! Highly recommend for everyone. Reasonable pricing and great food, with fantastic staff.
Intimate, fun and friendly! Food is delicious, priced well and the staff are so personable.
Reservation was for 21:30. Seated at 22:15
Absolutely remarkable food and service. Extremely welcoming staff. The smoke extractor could probably do with an extra boost. Will definitely go back
I had lovely time at evelyn’s table; i will definitely go back for another wonderful experience
Just one of the Best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had in London!
Fantastic experience. Very intimate setting, beautiful food and warm, friendly service.
The chefs were happy to engage with us and describe the dishes and how they were put together. We had five dishes (between two) and all were superb, especially the pollock and the lamb.
We dined on Evelyn's table on a Wednesday night. The place is super small, able to sit about ~12people on the counter and ~4 people in two tables they have.
The atmosphere is good, a bit noisy though. The decor is nice and the chefs are trying to interact with customers.
The food was on the OK side, nothing too extraordinary. Some dishes are really nice (i.e. beef tartare), but some others have intense sauces that hinder the actual food (i.e. too much mayo on the oysters).
I would say the food is on the pricey side, comparing with the value that you get and the whole experience.
The main reason I left with a bad impression was the service. We finished our main course well ahead (~30mins) in time. We asked another drink and we were expecting the dessert menu. Dessert menus never arrived. When i asked for the menu I was told that they cannot give it to us, as they are expecting other customers for the counter seat. I find that a bad service, as neither we were offered the dessert menu in time, nor were told that we need to leave the table after a particular time.
They struggle to mimic concepts like Kitchen Table, but they have a long way to go.
I eat out more than the average bear and this is now up there amongst my favourite London restaurants. Great intimate space, incredible food and service. Shout out to Cedric.
Really enjoyable meal. Definitely one of London’s best.
A very good surprise, tasty dishes, friendly staff
A great intimate venue for watching excellent food be prepared in front of you
A decent house white wine and Denis Hopa on tap (from the upstairs bar)
Friendly chefs more than happy to explain ingredients and methods used
The meal I’ve had in years!!
Exciting superb dishes delivered by a team that take a welcoming pride in their efforts!
An incredible evening. Amazing staff, they could not have done more. Thank you!! Isabella
Great use of space and really feels like group outing at a Chef's Table. We had high expectations after such amazing reviews. To be fair, clearly a lot of effort goes into creating these dishes. The squid was excellent, but everything else was only "above average" to "good" (say 6/10). We found the food a tad salty, the pasta a bit chewy (certainly not al dente) and we noticed a fairly high degree of inconsistencies in the preparation of like for like dishes between customers (although maybe this is the point?) Anyway, after about 1.5 hours we were ready to leave the basement and back to ground level. One other thing, we were there on a Saturday with a private party about to take up their group booking at 930pm wish and we (and everyone else) were definitely rushed out towards the end of our meal. For example, the couple next to us were recommended to order their dessert quickly only to be told "you can eat it upstairs in the pub"! Hmmmm.
Friendly and open without compromising service/professionalism. A lovely team who are genuinely enthusiastic about food.
One of the best restaurants in London. I’m a huge fan of The Palomar and The Barbary, but Evelyn’s Table exceeded my expectations. Service and food are both incredible!!!
Great ingredients treated with respect that you will want to eat again and again. It’s a wonderful experience and the sheer passion with which everyone works is refreshing and makes you want to go back and tell all your friends. Simply wonderful.
Booked this for my boyfriends birthday and it was the perfect location for an intimate, romantic but buzzy evening. The food was incredible and it’s fabulous how the chefs bring your food over personally and explain what’s what.
Great service as well.
Its a cool space, personally I love being able to watch & chat with the chefs. Fascinating to watch & delicious to eat ! Make a real event of the meal
We had a great meal at Evelyn’s table - incredibly fresh fish and every dish was perfect. Highly recommended
One of my favourite restaurants. Fantastic food, service and ambience. Will definitely return!
The staff are delightful, the chefs really know their craft. The cheese course was just delightful. The violet artichoke was amazing. Loved the linguine and all the fish dishes. Definitely worth a visit and check out the beer on the ground floor. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Remember though it's TINY. So super cosy.
spectacular meal, with talented staff. it's really special experience.
Evelyn’s Table was a great place for a birthday dinner! The staff were incredibly friendly and the food was delicious.
We was welcomed by the bar team of the bar above the restaurant and when our reservation time came we was taken downstair it was surprisingly small but we got the point .... there is a long bar and instead of bartenders u got a kitchen and 3 or 4 chefs and actualy u can chat them up and wach them how they cook your(or someones else ) food, it gives a vibe of exclusive and private dining. Very impresed and definatly going back!
Enjoyed a fabulous meal here in celebration of my daughters 30th Birthday. Faultless! Just the right balance of service amazing food cooked in front of you by great chefs. We loved the hole experience and would recommend this place.....Thankyou
What a great place! It hidden in a pub called the blue posts and downstairs, a dozen seats at the counter with a great team of chefs lead by Johnny and fabulous food, we just loved it. High quality food, great menu well prepared and just fabulous service. Just tyr it.
The food was delicious and the “secret” hideaway style of the place is great (as is the music). The food was very expensive but really special.
Not every seat is as good as the one next to it and those sat to the right of the counter will have the best experience.
The chefs - who are cooking in front of you - hand you the dishes as soon as they’re ready which is lovely but seemed to have varying levels of enthusiasm and descriptions dependent on where you were sat. I got more information on our dishes from listening to it getting delivered to other customers than I did from the mumble we were presented.
