Evergreen on 38
Looking for dim sum close by. Evergreen was that, but not much else. Service very weird. Restaurant was empty and we waited forever to order. I think the cooks were late and they didn’t want it to be so obvious. Food was fine, but very ordinary. I think I could have bought dumplings in the frozen food section and warmed them up for the same result. Full bar but no mimosas and the waiter couldn’t even make a recommendation for an alternative for that guest. Admittedly an unusual request for a dim sum place, but still...We won’t be back.
Top 5 chinese food in NYC.
Food was really good. Dishes labeled ‘spicy’ were not. Ambiance just ok
Food was excellent. Well prepared, came out fairly quickly. Wide selection. Delicious.
Great meal. Everything we ate was delish. Just wish the service was a bit better. Can never go wrong with the food here. We definitely will return.
Once the service improved we had a great meal. They were a bit slow starting off but got better as the meal went on. Overall, the food was delish.
It may have just been what we ordered, but I was very underwhelmed by the food. The turnip cake appetizer was very good, but the soups were bland, as was the tofu and vegetables with ginger/scallion sauce. The staff were all very accommodating and attentive, and the establishment itself is clean and nicely decorated.
This is a great place for a quick lunch. My mom and I went in the middle of work and didn't feel rushed even with the food coming out as quick as it did. The crispy beef was to die for. Crunchy, spicy, and sweet, while the chicken and string beans were in a gravy that was extremely savory.
Disappointing. I must have been given the tourist priced menu as the prices were higher for everything I ordered as compared to the menu prices reflected on the Open Table app. Entree was $3 higher. Appetizer was $2 higher. Felt like I was getting the old bait and switch. Food was good but charging higher prices than reflected on line felt wrong.
Excellent, would reccomend.
Solid - good food - good service - just a little pricey perhaps but a place that you can take business teams or families.
First time there, had the Peking Duck, it was very good.
Ice cold beers and tasty appetizers.
The only thing was the small flies. They are annoying, we were shooing them away, maybe they should keep the front door closed.
Otherwise , we are going back to try several of the other dishes on the menu.
I have been here many times. All other times were good. This time the service was terrible as all the waiters were standing in a group talking. Food was good.
I would only recommend this place for take out. service is terrible.
Moo shu chicken to this establishment is apparently barbecue sauce with mexian tortillas.
Haven't been to Evergreen for years and if it is at least as good as it always was! Great Chinese food in midtown.
