   It's a lovely pub and bar area is great. Nice and warm. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food in our opinion was very over priced for what you get. The soup was sadly the worst I've ever had and no one ask how our meal was so I left it. I would recommend the pub though for the ambience, staff and location.

   Really busy spot directly in front of the waterfalls which is always busy with tourists. Good luck getting parked in their car park too despite the signs sayings it’s customers only. Problem is people will just use the car park as it’s the only one about, and there is a cafe on site so technically many are customers. Staff are incredibly rude and unhelpful. Service is worst I’ve ever experienced. Had table service but had to wait at the busy bar to order anything, or even to pay my bill. Loads of people visiting the waterfalls (I mean loads) come into the bar area just to use the toilets. No staff at the door monitoring who was coming in (if you’ve booked, good luck finding a staff member to help you). And everyone will stop next next to the tables to look at the fireplace, take photos etc. Also constant stream of people peering in the windows. Door constantly slams shut as they enter and leave, so it’s a terrible place to try and enjoy your meal. It’s like sitting in a tourist information centre!! Possibly better experience when less busy midweek. Food is city centre prices. £15:95+ for a meal. Food was actually ok but way overpriced.

   We ate in the bar area nice view out the window pleasant and helpful staff three of us dining and all enjoyed our food.background music pleasant good value for money I think but we were being treated by our guest. Able to have our dog with us which was great

   The bar is a nice traditional space with a good atmosphere and we enjoyed a drink there before we went through to the restaurant. My partner had the chicken breast which he enjoyed however I opted for the grilled halloumi & roast vegetable burger. Whilst the skinny fries and salad were fine the grilled halloumi & roast veg were neither grilled or roasted but only warmed through and topped with a sloppy field mushroom, making for a very disappointing meal.

   Great place, in a fantastic location with wonderful staff, nothing was to much trouble, portion sizes were just right, with one the the best venison burgers I’ve ever had. Definitely will be back

   Excellent food and drinks. Superb atmosphere. Everything we were hoping for in a Scottish pub. The accommodations were also excellent and the staff was super helpful. And their homemade smoked salmon and gin were both top notch.

    We read 2 signs on entering asking customers to wait to be seated but staff seemed reluctant to approach. Fish and chips were hot and delicious but mushy peas were barely warm which we did tell the young lady about when she collected our plates. No offer of desserts or coffees so a very functional experience. Would not recommend or return.

    Lovely to be back in what was the Salmon Lie in days gone by. The experience was let down by the quality of the meat on the dishes ordered. And only one beer on tap. Otherwise pleasant evening.

    Scottish Tapas was ideal for a light lunch. Haggis was good. Smoked cheese could have been a bit more smokey. Craft beers and Schiehallion were perfect. Service was great and the staff were lovely.

    No atmosphere. untrained staff. Food was poor. Paid£15.95 for a plain burger and what can only be described as slightly warm , oily, fries which was probably bought from local supermarket . Very overpriced and not nice food. I visit killin often but will not be eating here again. Could be a nice little pub but I would avoid the food.

    Bearing in mind that this was a busy bank holiday weekend, the overall experience was reasonably good. There were flaws though. My Cullen skink and my partner’s cauliflower soup were very tasty, but mine was not quite hot enough. The vegetables I had for main were tasteless and over cooked. The venison casserole was delicious and tender with a rich, dark sauce but I didn’t get what I thought was clapshot. It was just very basic, tasteless mashed potato. Service was very good at the start, but deteriorated as the restaurant got busier (7pm). Staff were friendly and accommodating but I felt they were overstretched. The bar and restaurant had an excellent ambience. I would certainly come here again, but would choose a less busy time.

    Lovely meal and service was first class, starter salmon sharing platter particularly tasty and well presented. Ambience and fireside table surrounding excellent and a not too loud singer made for a lovely evening.

    The restaurant was nice and atmospheric with an excellent professional staff who took time to explain menu. The food was beautifully presented and very tasty. We would certainly recommend.

    Arrived early for our lunch booking expecting it to be busy. It wasnt. We were seated promptly and with a smile, ordered drinks (a glass of wine and a pint of diet coke) The wine arrived, but its tablemate was a pint of dark beer, which was promptly sent back and replaced with a heavily iced glass of diet coke. Our food order was taken and after a very short period of time, arrived looking tasty. the downside was much of it was on the lukewarm side, not really the desired temperature for fries and a burger. the plates were cold which obviously didn't help the matter. the deep fried halloumi was hot but the fries accompanying that weren't. We decided against dessert. Hoping this is a one off, as we've always been impressed on previous visits

    Food was great as always , although the blinis on the platter were changed for oatcakes without a mention. We were almost finished our food before our drinks arrived which was disappointing. I eat here every couple of months and sometimes more frequent during the summer months and have always had a great experience so I’ll let this one slip as being an off day with the servers.

    Sunday lunch was served quickly and as ordered. Seating area inside is ample and the menu is varied. Only slight complaint was that I had to queue for 10 minutes to pay our bill. The bar also has an outdoor seating area and car parking area at the rear adjacent to the smokehouse.

    Tourist trap. Used to be lovely years ago. Apart from one girl who was very attentive the rest of the staff looked like they would rather be anywhere else. My sister asked for cheese on her mediocre burger and they took away and slapped a square of cheese on top and brought back! To be fair my food was good but still won’t be back.

    Service was fantastic, we were recommended a whisky on arrival. The log fire was started and we were moved tables to enjoy the heat! Recommend the venison burger - great wee place, defo be back.

    Great place and ambiance. They have changed the chef and the food isn’t as great anymore for the price they charge. A bit of a shame but I’d go back just for the location and friendly staff

    Ordered a fish burger and instead fish and chips came out. Advised not what we had ordered and they took it back and brought the same plate out but with the massive fish slapped inside a tiny roll! How off putting and not what was ordered Starters where cold as well. Restaurant was not even busy at the time

    This could be such a great place but, having visited a number of times over the past decade I am increasingly disappointed. It is clearly a money-making machine given its proximity to the beautiful Falls of Dochart but it really feels like it. Staff seem disinterested. The inside looks tired and grubby. There was some litter on the floor. there were trays of dirty glasses lying around. My table had been left with dirty dishes on it and even when it was 'cleaned' the table was sticky and still had food debris on it. Cutlery is left out in baskets and not sure for how long so anyone could have been fingering through. Food was very expensive for what I got. I had steak and chips. Clearly frozen chips. The steak looked flabby and uninviting. 2 very greasy onion rings and a cooked mushroom and tomato that were luke warm. The Courie Inn was much better overall. Get the feeling that customer experience is not high on the list.

    Overall pretty disappointing visit. I understand that the waitress may have been new but if she did not understand simple instructions then she should have had someone shadowing her, she was perfectly pleasant mind you just not very with it. Asked for a glass of wine and got given a bottle for example, would not be complaining if it weren’t for the fact the bottle was twenty bloody quid! Food was resoundingly average, fish was fresh and burgers were nice. It was quite clear sticky toffee pudding was at least a day old as was more fudge like in consistency than a cake or sponge. Genuinely disappointed as have passed here many times and it’s always seemed really nice. Will not be back that’s for sure
