Displayed in pride of place at the back of the restaurant, the red king crab is expertly prepared and served simply on ice or baked with butter and thyme, to allow the sublime flavors of this sweet, succulent meat to shine through. Ordered whole or as portions of leg or shoulder meat, the crab make a truly luxurious experience for a decadent lunch or dinner. Signature main courses include Singapore chilli crab; Fancy king crab burger with potato fries and coleslaw and King crab fettuccine all prepared in different ways to show off this indulgent ingredient. The bar downstairs offers a cosy retreat with booth seating, serving an array of delicious cocktails.

Not impressive. Wouldn't recommended. Not fresh at all. And octopus was overcooked...
We found the restaurant welcoming from the outset. Castro our waiter was friendly and gave wonderful recommendations according to our requirements.
The crab Bon bons were delightful, as were the tiger prawns. The crispy squid had a bit too much batter instead of squid.
The crab burgers were a tad salty and not sure whether the brioche bun complemented the crab as both are slightly sweet.
Castro organised a birthday dessert for my husband which was a wonderful touch. Thank you.
As others have said, service was appalling. I felt really sorry for the waiters who were all
Individually lovely gents. But something is wrong because every single time we needed them we had a literal ordeal to get their attention. Because they are so busy it seems. But really it doesn’t look like they are. They’re just not trained well I think. Poor management I expect. Was so exhausted by the end of the meal with trying to get attention I just wanted to leave. Mother’s birthday as well. Embarrassing. Getting up to get own wine from ice bucket stand because no one bothering. Etc etc. The salt pepper squid, although recommended by the waiter, was awful. The hot platter for £85 was really average. Filled mostly with muscles. Very much a let down
Excellent place for fresh seafood, crabs & lobsters in particular. Good value considering the Marylebone location too!
The crab is delicious. Stick with that. The starters we had (lobster claws and shrimp) were average. The interesting thing was that while there were empty tables upstairs (and they were still empty when we left) we were taken to a nearly empty downstairs that looks like a storage facility. While we would go back for the crab, we would not sit in the basement again.
Singapore crab was delicious!
While the team apologised for disrupted service, apparently due to a change of staff,
, it was honestly the poorest service I have ever seen in my life. 15 people waiting at the door to be seated when we arrived. 30 minutes until someone came and took even a Drinks order, and then an additional 30 minutes for delivery. All the food came at different times. 2 meals (of 6) were forgotten, and delivered once the rest of us had finished. Would have been funny if we’d had a drink and a basket of bread to tide us over. Never ever again. It was an embarrassment in front of our overseas guests. The chilli crab was nothing like Singapore chilli crab. Everything else was mediocre.
Got sat downstairs when upstairs had spaces. They told us they had allocated them. Table for 2 is table for 2 who ever comes first. Felt like we weren't glamorous enough to sit upstairs! Waited 10 mins before being acknowledged by head waiter and even then he snapped at me! Smelt damp downstairs.! Dead atmosphere. Squid was like remnants of the bottom of a frying pan! Staff not friendly or courteous. Not the best experience at all. Not had such a bad restaurant experience in years.
Food was good. Waiters were good. Bar staff. Terrible
Really nice and fresh crab and other food and the crabs are giant ! Friendly staff as well.
The set lunch was outstanding value.
Very nice food. Gorgeous scallops for starter... but only two!
Premium platter was not too small though.
The selection of food was fantastic and the taste was delicious. Great time and yummy desserts.
Amazing service, food was absolutely fantastic. We tried almost everything on the menu. I will come back soon and I have already started recommending Fancy crab as my top 10 favourite places to dine. The whole experience was enjoyable and we didn’t have to prompt staff that it was my brothers birthday. Everything I requested in my booking was catered for above and beyond. We are extremely happy diners :)
The lady on the door could’ve been more welcoming but the food was very good.
Amazing crab! We went for lunch during the rain break at Lords. The food here is as good as any crab you will get anywhere in the world. Awesome!
Amazing food and amazing service
I love Fancy Crab is usually my go to brunch venue, but there were a few small mistakes made this time round that had never happened before. I ordered the crab benedict and my friend had steak and eggs. There was a lot of shell in my meal which I had to pick out, plus my muffin was burnt, my friends steak was a little gristley and she wasn't given a steak knife straight away from ordering and had to struggle through as there was no waiter around until she had to go find someone. On the grand scheme of things these errors are small, but for the price you pay to eat here it shouldn't be an occurrence.
The reputation of Alaskan King Crab is not sufficient to make this restaurant worth a visit.
Food that was obviously prepared hours before service was worse than mediocre.
So disappointing and we’ll not be returning
Sorry, but there is nothing ‘fancy’ about this place, except the prices. Must admit the oysters were good and the crab burger was really nice. But skip the fried calamari, it was really just a plate of fried little batter bits, and the mussels were surprisingly small. And although the restaurant was half empty when we dined (Thursday evening 8pm) the service was soooo slow. There is little worse when you realise: “where IS our food??” Oh well, live and learn.
Would not waste your time and money on this place. Terrible food on the set menu. The seafood roll was tasteless and devoid of much other than a few prawns and a tonne of mayonnaise. The guacamole starter was supposed to include crab but didn’t see a sprinkle. The place was practically empty and yet the waiters were inattentive and nattered amongst themselves. Had previously thought I may return for a full a la carte experience but definitely not after this lunch.
It was my frist time at fancy crab the food was very spontaneous 😍😍💕💕 as it was our anniversary dinner; so it was very special and I'm glad I choose fancy crab
Coming back soon
I had been looking forward to visiting this restaurant for a long tome. Their online marketing gives the impression of superb food...unfortunately the reality is not as good.
The place looks great and it has appeal. That's the good news. The bad news is that food is appalling and service rather missing.
For starters we ordered Salmon Tartare from the A la Carte and Guacamole from the Set Lunch.
It was ok but easily forgettable. The problems started with the mains;
The King Crab Burger was as tasteless as carboard and the Shellfish roll...oh dear..what a disaster. A charred panino roll with a filling of shredded lettuce and topped with seafood sauce...but lacking totally in seafood. So there you go. Bread and lettuce with tomato ketchup mixed with mayo.. Total £ 66 for 2 with 2 glasses of prosecco. Don't remember seeing any staff interested in our feedback or asking for it. The manager was busy talking to the hostess at the end of the restaurant rather than walking the floor..
Very disappointed and not a place which I would recommend.
The manager was very helpful with everything! Tase of the food amazing as always, but portion of courgette this time was very tiny
LOVED Fancy Crab - food and cocktails were amazing, fab atmosphere and will definitely be back!
Great staff and the food was fantastic. They made a real effort for my friend's birthday including her dessert served with candles!
We try this restaurant based in reviews and it was disappointing from the greeting at the door to service throughout the meal.
So long wait, I can understand for the food as the restaurant was pretty busy ( but not full) but 25 min for a G&T after that you chase the waiter twice...it’s too much.
Wouldn’t come back again...for the price you pay you can definitely find better places
Average seafood, but side dishes that never arrived despite reminders. We were promised free desserts by way of an apology, but these appeared on the bill. One person asked what cheeses were on the cheese board, the cheeses that arrived bore no resemblance to the promised food.
Pretty poor overall, would not go back. Lots of alternatives.
Fantastic! Open a fancy crab in the US!
Looks like the A-Team were on shift yesterday! Had a superb evening and staff were helpful with menu selection and allergies.
Fancy crab is a nice a clean cut restaurant. Amazing customer service. Thank you for a good experience.
Food was nice, going in a group or 4 or more is definitely economical as you can share a platter. Struggled a bit on the service despite being half empty - really struggled to get their act together on my gluten free request despite informing them at the rime of booking (although after quite a long wait they were able to advise). For parts of the meal we had the guy on his first night - he was nice enough but after hearing "I don't know it's my first day" for the 20th time it got a bit old - they should have trained the poor bloke. Definitely sit upstairs and not downstairs as downstairs smells of damp (you have to go downstairs to use the toilets) - a few dehumidifiers would not go amiss. Has all the elements to be a fantastic restaurant but a few things let them down on the night.
Excellent restaurant, worth a visit.
Really enjoyed Fancy Crab. Great good (mussels and fancy Cerviche are to die for), great service and great value.
Food was not fresh, oily, very small portions for the size.
Amazing, attentive service! Lovely food and environment!
Overpriced. This is basically a casual dining place. That kind of ambience and service but at Michelin star prices. Disappointing
