They were overbooked and understaffed, which they blamed on Restaurant Week. We arrived early and were told we could not be seated until our reservation time. There was no comfortable place to wait. We were seated 10 minutes past the time and then it took another 10 minutes to get water. They were obviously busy, service was slow and place was very noisy. The food, however, was excellent, just not worth the aggravation with so many other good choices nearby.

Rice for the sushi was hard and the steak wasn’t very good at all.

Had a fantastic family meal at FFB during our recent DC vacation. They were packed for restaurant week and the hostess team were a bit overwhelmed (impacted service rating). However, the wait staff, food and restaurant management were excellent! We will definitely plan a return visit! It is an exciting location along the Potomac with lots of people watching. Enjoy!!

Very good, but not up to the hype. Also, not a great location if you are coming to see the water while you eat. There are better views elsewhere right here, and the quality of the food is not reflected in the price. Desserts were 'meh'. But good ambience and someplace you need to go once because of the hype.

I arrived early and was able to get seated before my actual reservation time because I was told they were slow. However, after being seated, the process for everything else took forever. We were seated at 7:15, but didn’t receive our meal until about 8:30 and my friend’s order was incorrect and had to be returned. We ordered desssert and I didn’t receive mine until after the check was paid and my friend and I had been sitting chatting for about 30-35 minutes.

Our waiter, Jake, was excellent- knowledgeable, attentive, and just the right amount of friendly. The Beachcomber cocktail was delicious and the shrimp scampi was rich and very satisfying. Great dinner!

It was so loud in there we had to cup our hands around our mouths and shout at each other. Very frustrating and significantly negatively impacted our experience. I won't be back because I can't have an easy conversation.

The service was good as always. Wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Cocktails were tasty. I’ve always enjoyed everything I’ve eaten here so was excited about trying a steak. But I have to say I was a little disappointed in the Maui Ribeye. The flavor was excellent but it wasn’t hot when it got to my table. It wasn’t cold enough to send back, just not hot enough to be perfect. Neither was the corn pudding tamale or the rapini. The rapini wasn’t tasty and the stems were woody so I didn’t really take more than a few bites. My guests though, really enjoyed their meals. One had puffy corn tacos (beef) and the other had shrimp scampi. I will go back and give them another chance. I know they can do better.

We came here on back to back weekends because we liked it so much. The brunch buffet was amazing! Great value, great variety, great flavors. I highly recommend it. On the following weekend, we were too full to eat the buffet, but the regular menu didn’t disappoint. The crab and artichoke dip with the freshly-baked bread strips was a delicious start to the meal. I had the poke bowl with a Clementine vodka cocktail. All good!

Brunch never disappoints. Wide variety of foods, including breakfast staples such as French Toast, Fried Chicken, Mimosas, bacon, etc. Menu, service and foods were all great, as usual.

We had a lovely Sunday Brunch on our last day in DC. Great location on the wharf. Lots of choices. Our waiter Ernie was delightful. Definitely ask for him. The eggs Benedict were special order to the table. The breads are scratch made. Food is locally sourced.

Good if you come starving, otherwise you’re paying $32 per person for brunch. Buffets are good for Vegas and holidays, not every weekend.

Had to wait to be seated for a few minutes even though we made a reservation. Server was amazing but had too many tables to wait on so we had to wait a while. Overall food is phenomenal! Favorite dish was the crab and artichoke dip!

Good food, except for chocolate cake dessert. Cake was dry and listless. Waiter was excellent. Was annoyed they made us wait for 15 minutes despite having a reservation. Also, I felt the ambiance was dimished by the relaxed dress code. Not a good spot for a special dinner, better as a place just to eat. Many people in shorts and T-shirts.

Fun spot on the water but pricey for what you get-- especially cocktails. Biggest complaint is that even with a 5:30 dinner reservation we had to wait more than 30 minutes to get a table. What's the point of making a reservation if you aren't seated with 10 minutes of arrival? Service was VERY slow and we were catching a performance at the Kennedy Center at 7:30pm. We had to eat fast and race to the theatre. If you make a reservation-- do NOT expect to be seated when you arrive. Very disappointed that we could not enjoy a leisurely meal.

We visited for a special weekend and made reservations well in advance of our trip. The main problem was our server was completely inattentive to our table. In fact our table was cleared with our drinks and food on it and our table was never giver cinnamon rolls. We finally got our drinks back but service was awful

Good restaurant for casual dining. We made reservations for 5:30pm but didn't seat us until 5:50pm because they said they had a lot of walk in customers right before we arrived. So, reservations don't mean much at this place. Normally, it wouldn't be a big deal but we were trying to catch a show and didn't want to rush dinner. My dinner was cold by the time it reached the table. My son ordered sushi which was pretty good but it took them 10 minutes to bring him soy sauce. Nothing was a big deal but probably wouldn't eat here again.

The location is good, and the food is delicious. However, I feel it is severely overpriced. I rarely feel that way. But $25 for 4 scallops? And $9 for a banana pie meringue?

This restaurant is part of the “founding farmers” chain in DC. As such I was excited to try it. I was sorely disappointed. Arrived for an 8:00 reservation and was seated about 8:20. Ordered fried scallops. While the sides were fine, the scallops were tiny bay scallops heavily breaded. My wife enjoyed her mussels. Halfway through the meal the server asked “do you think you’ll be wanting desert?” We indicated that we weren’t sure as we were in the middle of dinner “no problem. I’ll drop the check off”. Sure enough, no offer again of desert or another drink or coffee. Just the check immediately after plates were cleared. They must get a bonus for turning tables as fast as possible. This was a very disappointing experience overall.

The restaurant’s design is really nice and the food was great. I would have rated it a 5 if it wasn’t for a few things. First, it was so loud. It was hard to carry on a conversation. The noise level from people talking was high but then add on loud music and it was too much. Second, we sat at a back booth that fits six but they put our party of seven in it with a bar chair at the end of the table. People kept hitting my chair as they passed behind me. I later saw them try to put a table of eight at one and they said no way. The third and negative was the smell of the carpet. The majority of the restaurant had no carpet but our section did. There was a bad sour smell to the carpet. We would smell it off and on thru dinner. They really should remove it or have it professionally cleaned more frequently. We sprayed ourselves with perfume to help mask the smell. If it wasn’t so busy, we would have asked to move.
The food was excellent and would definitely return for that but ask for a different section!

We started with the Mussels Pot with Beer and were pleasantly surprised. Looks like this might become our new favorite for mussels. As entrees we had cracklin' pork shank and scallops with butternut risotto and both were really good.
