Went to Farzi cafe as I really enjoyed the food and the experience that I had in the Dubai branch.
I was greatly disappointed with my experience in London. The waiters were more bothered about these 2 couples and spent most of their time with them rather than coming round the tables or asking if we are ok.
There was no help with going through the menu and it was just rushed through not what I expected.
My wife really liked the sauce which she asked about and all the waiter cared about was selling her a pickle tray (customer service guys just get some dip for the customers if they ask) as when the table they were all crowding around were getting everything even if they didn’t want it.
So the service was not to put it differently but CRAP.
Then the bill came I always check the bill as I have been to establishments where it’s either not my bill or has had things added on to it.
In this case the bill stated
“Optional service charge” if it is optional why add it to the bill why not have it so there are 2 parts 1 with and 1 without and the customer can choose.
The waiter then tried to make us feel bad as I refused to pay it as not getting the service but want to charge me for it.
In a nut she’ll hugely disappointed with the experience i received as Dubai was a 10/10 experience and compared to that these boys need to pull their socks up
Lovely and friendly staff, very quick service. Food was beautiful plated and tasted very nice. Chops was amazing and my favourite item on the menu but keep in mind two chops in portion, was contemplating to order another portion.
Good food and great value for money, especially with the dine in discount that we were unaware of.
I took my friend here for a dinner as I was looking for somewhere that had a slight quieter ambience. When we arrived the hostess was nice enough to move us to a different table as she could see that I wasn't happy sitting in the middle near the main entrance which I thought was nice of her. Unfortunately after that, I cantvreallybsaybanything more to compliment the service. After we got our drinks, the waiter definitely forgot to take our food order so I had to prompt him. Then when the food came, we only got one starter and had to wait almost 5 mins for the second. My friend said thats odd but I didnt say anything at this point. Then the exact same thing happened when the mains came. Why there was almost a 5 min wait, I'm really unsure. When my friend ordered another drink, it took so long to come that we had finished our meal. Another guy dressed in a suit, possibly a manager, came up to us and it honestly felt like he was seeing if we had finished our meal so he could say we need to leave now. When she told him that she ordered another drink 10 mins ago, he went up and brought it back down with him but to be honest, his attitude was still not hospitable when I turned down a coffee he asked me if I'd like to order. The staff are defo trying to act like a more upmarket restaurant but the service was not to that level. I personally thought that the pricing is a little steep for the quality of restaurant. I have no issues with paying £100+ for a meal but with that price, you should receive higher standards.
found it a bit expensive for what you get, discretionary service charge should not be added on , 12.5% very high
The food itself was so good, the service was amazing. Honestly it was my first time coming and I recommend everyone to come. The people were so nice there. The staff even let us pray in a spare room and I’m honestly so grateful to them.
Excellent food, would recommend to my friends and family.
The biryanis at Farzi Café are absolutely delicious and the service from Felix was just as good. The portions were worth the price even without the generous September Eat Out to Help Out, so this was an added bonus!
I have been Farzi multiple times now and they have never failed to impress. Their service is 10/10 and their food is 10/10. They are very consistent which is why I keep going back.
Great Indian food with a twist. Would defo go back again
For the price of the dishes the flavour was lacking in the food.
The wagyu meat and kebabs could have been premarinated so there would be more taste inside.
The chicken tikka was bland.
I enjoyed the mojitos.
Eat elsewhere. Seemed like people of certain ethnic background were being sent to sit downstairs where it was dark and had no windows - a specific demographic were sitting upstairs. Service was extremely poor. Had to ask 3 different members of staff one thing until someone got back to me. Good was very basic and not worth the price you're paying. £70 for 2 biryanis and mocktails - eat elsewhere.
Dear Hana, We are sorry if you felt your visit to our restaurant fell short of your expectations. The Eat Out to Help Out scheme proved very popular for us and as such the restaurant was busy Our restaurant is designed over two floors and we seat customers as per availability, and many of our guests prefer sitting downstairs. We would like to emphasise that all guests are welcomed to Farzi Cafe equally, regardless of ‘demographic’. Best Wishes Farzi Café Team
Lovely service from the waiter felix. He recommended nice dishes but strong feeling of these being way overpriced for what they were. The arancini was definitely overpriced as was the butter chicken bao buns, laal mas curry and bread basket. I note that other friends who visited had larger portions provided compared to my visit which was strange. Arancini had 3 in a dish but my friends had 5. We had 3 lamb chops but they had 2. Really odd!
The wagyu beef was lovely and fairly priced. Lamb chops were really lovely and worth the price charged.
I specifically booked this for the ras malai tres leeches dessert which sadly was not available, perhaps due to a limited menu? Disappointed that this was not an option. Ordered the dood bread malai instead which was lovely and most for the first two bites then was adult dry for the rest. Chocolate chai bomb that my partner ordered really nice but wasn't expected the filled centre as we weren't given dessert menus.
The place was really noisy.
Cocktails were nice.
The table was booked for 4 but we were not able to be seated until 4:15. Surprised as when booking its clear how late you can be before the table is given away. This set us back on our schedule which was an inconvenience to us.
Waiter service was spot on, can't fault it. Would return perhaps for cocktails and lamb chops but not for a proper meal.
Amazing food honestly the best! Also, the decoration is amazing just the service was really poor I was very disappointed! Would still go there again for the food hopefully the service will be better! Especially as I am a food blogger it’s very frustrating giving a bad review when the food was 10/10!!
Biryani and chicken bao are the best I have ever tried
Delicious food, great service, lovely ambience.
Would recommend a visit
We decided to celebrated our wedding anniversary here on a Friday evening. We're greeted by staff and seated with a slight delay, understandable due to COVID etc.
We were then met at the table by Julie who was an amazing hostess for our dinner. She explained the concept of the restaurant and advised of her recommendations.
We did enjoy the food and the concept but it was the general atmosphere and ambience of the place which really impressed me.
I would say its more like a casual fine dining theme which is unique.
Its certainly not a cheap eat and for the portion size it lacks value although there are reasons such as location and the concept behind it.
The service was top notch and I would definitely say Julie is an asset to this place.
Will visit when we celebrate another event
Food amazing as always. However the restaurant itself has not catered to the requirements of social distancing. We a couple were seated so close to a larger loud group next to us it most definitely wasn’t even a metre and in asking to move told there was no more tables available. We were sat right by the main entrance so just felt uncomfortable the whole evening with so many people gathering in the entrance and atop the stairs, they don’t take your information for any form of tracing and notifying. And their “masks” (more like a chopped up face shield) doesn’t remotely cover their nose and barely covers their mouth. Amazing food and normally a wonderful place but don’t go if you fear for your safety in this pandemic...they don’t care.
Nice food bit expensive need bigger portions
Need more space on tables
My second visit to Farzi Café, the first since lockdown. A slightly different menu, and very difficult to read all 12 pages or so on a mobile phone screen!
It was pretty full and the acoustics made it rather loud, especially at our table bang in the middle of the room. Food was very good but not worth the price. At £100 for two, even after the eat out out discount, it felt overpriced.
We waited ages for our dessert order to be taken but it was worth the delay!
Fantastic food, good mix of a few classics (done exceptionally well) and some novel dishes.
Slightly too loud music for my liking, and service good, but not outstanding.
The food here wasn’t that great. Not good value at all. Service from our waiter was poor.
The bar staff were amazing and couldn’t have been more attentive. The bar staff customer service was the best thing about this restaurant.
Farzi has been on our bucket list for a while as we've heard so many good things about it. Obviously, we had to take advantage of their own extension of #EatOutToHelpOut 😊
Farzi London is a Modern Indian Bistro serving cutting edge, avant-garde Indian cuisine with a twist? So they say please read on.👇🏽
The menu supposedly offers contemporary Indian dishes and global classics, with whimsical nods to traditional British favourites. This is definitely questionable. 🤔
🌟 Dal Chawal Arancini
🌟 Flame Grilled Lamb Chops
🌟 Madras Pepper Prawns
🌟 Jhol Masala Chicken Biryani
🌟 Butter Chicken Bao
🌟 Masala Laccha Onions & Cucumber
🌟 The Cheesecake
All the dishes were masterfully and creatively presented. Thumbs up for presentation. 👍🏽
The only dishes we actually enjoyed was the Dal Chawal Arancini and the Butter Chicken Bao. 😍😋 The lamb chops had more fat than actual meat and the prawns were three sad isolated rubbery prawns heavily coated in a flavourless masala. 👎🏼
Sorry to disappoint our followers as many of you loved the Instagram story of the chicken biryani. We have had our fair share of chicken biryanis and this dish simply didn’t stack up. It needed more flavour and seasoning. 🧂🤏🏽 The onion and cucumber pickle salad was good but if they got this wrong we would seriously be worried.
Finally “The Cheesecake” - according to the waiter it’s meant to be upside down cheesecake. The texture and taste did not resemble a cheesecake, it’s more of a mousse-like dessert. 🙅🏽
Overall Farzi’s atmosphere and knowledgeable waiters score highly, but was left far behind and scoring low for the quality of food. We paid £73.38 for 6 dishes (waiter kindly volunteered to remove the dessert from the bill) with #EOTHO discount and service charge. It’s such a shame as it’s a beautiful restaurant. Definitely has the potential to be an awesome one or maybe just a bad night with not enough prep time, who knows 🤷🏼♂️.
Music is too loud
Having made the effort to drive into London on a Saturday night, paid babysitters, congestion charge and then be faced with food that was overpriced and very bland. Not a restaurant that I will visiting again sadly.
Fabulous as always 👌🌹
The food was so yum. Took agess to come but it was worth the wait. Although it tasted great the portion sizes are tinyyy
Food was hit and miss. Cocktails tasted synthetic! No consistency. Service was not good even though the place was not busy.
First time I’d seen my friend since pre lockdown. I’d been before but she hadn’t and we had a great time. Food really is excellent and service was also. Staff wore visors and tables socially distanced. Hand sanitiser on offer also. We will be back
I don't think I will be revisiting this place ever again. It was nothing like what we expected it to be. The food was very bland and it was not worth what we paid (£276). We drove roughly 3 hours just to try this place out but I think it was a waste of time!! Customers on the table next to us had a dog sat right next to us. Not once did the staff come and ask us if we are okay with that!! We were put off from eating our food and there was alot of food left over. Very poor service!!! I would really like to get our money back. I will be posting this review on all the food pages so everyone knows. I hope Farzi cafe contacts me to discuss and sort a refund out!! Also there was a service charge which was optional to pay but we did not realise after we paid. The staff should've told us that its optional.. We wouldn't have paid If we knew because it was not worth it!!
Poor and slow service
No social distancing with tables cramped together!
Shame the service is so poor considering the food is amazing
Great vibe in the restaurant with fab staff.
Food was AMAZING!!
2 bottles of different wines we had requested had run out on the night and the more expensive bottle we had settled for in the end only had 1 in stock. Between 4 people, 1 bottle doesn't go very far!
However, under the current climate, there were no extra sanitisers around the restaurant other than at the entrance. None in the toilets, none on the tables.
Delicious food, great service. Looking forward to going back!
The food and ambience was really good, however, we felt at times the service was quite slow. We had broken glass and spilt drink at the first table we met for drinks at which nobody bothered to come and clean. We had to request tissues and clean up ourselves.
Overall it was a really pleasant evening at a visually stunning location. Would definitely visit again!
Amazing food. Quick service. Quite place. And a nice location
Very tasty Indian food with a twist. A great surprise as we were just walking past!
Gorgeous food, fantastic service - can’t wait to return!
A lovely dinner at Farzi. Unable to do the pre-theatre menu as some of us arrived a little late, although still doing 10pound off per person this month so either deal was good for us. Yummy food, beautifully presented. Will be back to try more
