Fat Badger Grill
Fantastic food and service throughly enjoyed the experience
The food was ok, don’t know if l would rush back. Service fine, lovely dining area, but food nothing special.
Food good quality and big portions sadly customer service was lacking we were left sitting on the table for long periods off time considering it was 7.30 at night and not that busy was disappointing
Great evening meal out- hadn’t been before as it was our first time visiting Harrogate. Everything was lovely, the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and the staff were friendly and efficient. I had the lamb which was faultless- absolutely delicious and nice portion sizes. My partner had the steak and couldn’t fault it either! Will definitely return again for our next visit!
What a wonderful meal we had for my wife’s 40th birthday. It was delicious with an absolutely great menu to choose from. We are definitely returning to try more from the menu!
What a lovely restaurant this was. Food was delicious, with a lot to choose from. Staff very friendly and helpful and it had a lot of character. Would definitely go again.
The food was fantastic especially the crab gnocchi and feta samosas. Service excellent and a lovely setting.
The service & the food was excellent, lovely place & perfect ambience for a dinner date, would definitely recommend
Our party had a very enjoyable evening. On the whole the food was very good, however one vegan meal had an unpleasant taste. Once the staff were told of this, a fresh meal of the guests choice was served very quickly. We felt the staff had dealt with this extremely well, and we were given a discount. Thank you.
Lovely meal and well sized portions.
Overall the meal, restaurant and staff were very nice. However, the attention to detail was really poor and the split of duties was also confusing. Initially everything was really good but to have our meal course plates left on the table after finishing for what seemed at least 15-20 minutes was not impressive. We would have told somebody but nobody came round to speak or see anybody at our end of the restaurant.
Food was really nice and good value with a nice choice of various dishes.
We enjoy our evening but it was spoilt with the lack of attention to detail by the staff.
Family Sunday lunch , four adults and one two year old. We had the set Sunday lunch menue which was delicious and very good value, the childrens menue was also good value for two courses . I would only take children if they are well behaved as this is a " grown up " resturant . A lovely room , the tables were well spaced out and a very relaxed.
Having eaten here a number of years ago when we last stayed,we hoped the food would be of the same quality and it was.My husband had the seafood brochettes to start followed by the sea bass and I had the salt and pepper chicken followed by the sole and blackberry crumble. All the food was excellent, the crumble was my favourite. It was of restaurant quality, which you don’t often find in hotel restaurants these days and the young man who served us was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
Excellent, friendly, yet discreet service. The surroundings were stylish and our table by the window provided a perfect atmosphere. Food was amongst the best we have had in a hotel restaurant. Unfortunately we were virtually the only diners eating and this detracted a little from the overall atmosphere. Would definitely recommend it.
We will definitely be back! Fabulous food but it was the brilliant customer service that makes the Fat Badger stand out from the crowd.
Outstanding food, beautiful interior setting, lovely wine and great value for money. We will be back.
Had a lovely evening only one complaint was that the broccoli was too hard and I could not eat it although was still charged for it even after notifying the staff
excellent service, amazing food and very good value
Although there was no one to meet us when we arrived and the restaurant was empty initially, so not much atmosphere- the market menu offered great value and the food and service were excellent.
Will definitely return.
Great atmosphere and service on a buzzy Saturday night. Food was fine and not too expensive; not exactly gourmet but tasty and decent enough. Would recommend for groups with booking essential!
The food was overly oily. Too much additional olive oil poured onto the skewers, and the prawns. the battered fish was far too battered.
The waiter brought the wine to our table to open it, with two glasses. He poured the wine and then said "Oops, we have one that has failed the lipstick test". So he got a fresh glass and poured the wine from the lipstick glass into the new glass. Not totally hygienic. Then I pointed out that the new glass was cracked. So he got ANOTHER new glass and poured it into the 3rd glass.
At this point we said, apologies but we're not happy with that. Please could we have a fresh bottle and 2 new glasses. The waiter did this without question.
Great atmosphere, delicious freshly cooked food.
Very good service and good value for money
Will definitely come again
Lovely food and a varied menu. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
A lovely evening with friends, delicious food which arrived promptly. Service slowed a little towards the end of the meal. Great ambience though and we will return.
I booked a table at this establishment as it was advertised as a traditional pub but was very disappointed as didn’t get to see this at all we were in the restaurant with no ambiance. The meal itself was really not that great and very disappointing. We found plastic from the feta cheese in one of the starters and whilst our bill was discounted and we received an apology, it put a dampener on all the food we ate. The service was good but did have to ask about the wine we ordered so overall not a great experience
Ate in the restaurant , it was clean , nicely decorated and comfortable.
The food was delicious especially the mascarpone cheese cke. We didn't order the Sunday lunch
but they looked appetising , maybe next time.
Service was good and staff friendly- food didn’t match the price point. I had a Smoked salmon mac and cheese which was tasteless . Was ok but Overall wound not rush back
Decent place and lively bar, food looks good but not up to scratch. Hard potatoes and Cherry tomatoes chopped in half with Very tough Swordfish on top ain't a nice combination. Very Bland starters. Desert...Best i've ever tasted so saved it only slightly at the end.
A shame as this is a beautiful place, but our celebration was ruined by an over enthusiastic, noisy party, whose choice language we had to endure for the entire evening. So noisy were they that we were unable to have a conversation. Other than the one member of staff (attempting to take an order at a neighbouring table) asking them to keep it down so that he could complete the order, no one addressed it, yet other diners commented on the appalling lack of consideration which also ruined their evening. This, all be it a difficult situation, should have been something the Manager should have handled, but instead he a made no attempt to, or in fact, recompense us, merely saying there was nothing he could do about it. I am sure if we had threatened to leave without paying, he might have found a solution.
The restaurant is very friendly and welcoming. Nice staff and excellent food. Service was good and very quick
Cold raw food, rushed service, poor value. Over hyped and nothing special
lovely food, good choice and great service. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, the staff were so attentive and there was a good choice of food.
Lovely setting best described as a stylish pub. Attentive, friendly staff. We had the Sunday two course option at £18
(there is a three course option for £22) which was good value and the food was good (and hot). Appeared to be a good alternative choice should it be required. We booked online with no problems. Would return again.
Fabulous food, lovely setting and ambience, great service. Don’t usually write reviews but thought I should this time. A great birthday treat.
Really nice restaurant area..lovely decor..attentive staff..amazing food..good value for 3 course Sunday lunch
Lovely place. Food and service were excellent. However, we did get over looked for our mains (about an hour wait) but this was rectified with complimentary mains and an apology. We were in no rush so this wasn't a great problem for us. A couple of large groups made it fairly noisy but it was a Saturday night and everyone was just enjoying themselves.
The who proccess from arrival to leaving was a pleasure. The choice of food is not excessive but the flavours are amazzing. The deserts are real treat. Top tucker , good beer , good atmosphere.
Disappointed in food after rave reviews.Fishcakes were bland and mainly mash potatoe in an unappetising bread crumb orange school dinner texture.
Excellent choice of food and the taste was amazing. Service was friendly and welcoming. Very good restaurant recommended by a friend
Really good ambiance and great value . Excellent choice of food , very attentive staff and lovely surroundings. Always enjoy a pint beforehand in the great bar next door .
