Pretty disappointed with the burgers, they are normally the best in town but the ones we had were pretty poor by comparison to the usual, I'm guessing this had something to do with that night being the last night before lockdown (probably weren't from the usual supplier). The other really annoying thing was we were put in the dining room, this wasn't clear when we made the booking. I did enjoy the £3 pints though!!
Fabulous food - great service - very good rules on social distancing - all in all a great night
Very good food and great setting
Food was epic. The cooking liquor for the mussels is like nectar, get extra bread to enjoy it to the max. We both had steaks and argued about which was best. The ribeye is unreal and the fillet nearly as good 😉
Unfortunately the food was very disappointing, no taste to any of the dishes ordered, we left our food half eaten.
Service was amazing - room busy and noisy - starter not cooked correctly and my husbands steak was raw not rare.
Food was delicious. Staff were great and very friendly. Lovely atmosphere.
The food was great, the staff were friendly and efficient, the restaurant it’s self is beautiful. It was very quiet in the restaurant hence only 3 stars for ambiance (probably just due to the current COVID situation) but the pub area looked more lively and atmospheric. Overall we enjoyed our meal and would definitely book again.
Fabulous meal served in lovely surroundings, the staff were very attentive overall an excellent evening
Another lovely meal at The Fat Badger. The welcome, service and food all excellent. Will definitely book again soon.
All as expected and satisfactory. No bad surprises
I was disappointed in the level of cleaning in place in respect of Covid-19. Only the table was cleaned and again this was just with a cloth and not disinfectant, the seats were not cleaned. We were not asked to complete track and trace although I completed this and temperatures were not taken. I appreciate that Harrogate was in Tier 1 but basic hygiene and cleanliness should have been in place. When we ordered condiments were placed on the table including salt and pepper mills which we later witnessed were not cleaned after use. My partner requested vinegar and again this was taken from another table and not cleaned prior to be given to our table. I therefore cleaned myself with hand sanitizer and a clean tissue.
The food was average. My partner had the duck terrine which had been clearly removed from the fridge just as it was served rather than at room temperature and was rock hard it was also served with bread that again was hard and stale
The member of staff that was front of house was also seen lifting his visor to talk to customers and I also witnessed him lifting his visor and sneezing and not washing his hands
I will not be visiting again anytime soon.
Great bar. Very busy. Had to wait for service, but when we had our order taken, food arrived quickly. Great food.
It was meant to be dog friendly in the bar but it wasnt
Loved it , good amazing .
Booked Xmas eve and New Year’s Eve
Excellent venue and menu choices. 80th birthday celebrated in style.
This is so much more than a hotel restaurant! The decor is amazing, the food is fantastic and the service is great. The chateaubriand was devoured, the mac and cheese was delicious and the salmon portion was very generous and tasty. Nothing but positive vibes. Definitely recommend.
Family celebration while we still have the opportunity! Excellent meal and attentive service. I enjoyed the mussels which were fabulous and the Mac and cheese made with goats cheese and hazelnuts. Yummy!
Lovely lunch, good service and COVID safe environment.
It was very busy. The staff were overstretched. It was a long wait to order food and pay. Otherwise all good.
Lovely place, nice atmosphere, attentive staff. My fish cake starter was good but the roast beef in my Sunday dinner was as tough as old shoe leather!!
A lovely dining room, helpful staff and excellent food.
A great restaurant with a modern vibe. The service was a tad slow, but given the pandemic probably understandable! We had Sunday roasts and it was everything you'd want from a roast, giant yorkshires, lots of veg, and top quality meat.
Can’t fault it, best Sunday roast & sticky toffee pudding I have ever had, service was excellent and the place is beautiful. Will definitely be returning
Food , what we got , was nice but portion sizes pretty poor.
Sunday lunch was amazing. I would highly recommend this.
Not the cheapest but decent food in a pleasant building with a choice of real ales
I booked the Fat Badger but was put in to the restaurant which was disappointing as this wasn’t what we were looking for but staff were friendly and food was ok tho not as good as usual sadly 😔
Food was absolutely lovely. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for good quality food & very good value price wise.
Staff were lovely, approachable and friendly.
Had a lovely stay at the hotel too.
Always a pleasure to stay at the Whit Hart and eat at the Badger, food is excellent, service is spot on can’t fault it, thank you
Great ambiance, excellent service,
Food was presented well, but was very dry without a sauce or salad.
We had a lovely meal here at the end of our recent holiday. Lovely setting, great service and food.
The food was delicious although I wish I'd chosen differently on my starter but the roast was delicious.
My only slight issue was we booked the restaurant but were offered a table in the bar until I mentioned I'd booked the restaurant? Apart from that delicious food.
Although we live in Harrogate we have never had Sunday Lunch here. First of all your temperature can be checked on the automatic machine. The tables are very well spaced out so you are not close to anyone else. I had a smoked haddock risotto and my husband had the fish cakes which were both very tasty. We both had roast pork for the main course which had three slices of pork, stuffing, 3 roast potatoes, mash, Yorkshire pudding and a dish of vegetables to share. The portions were very large and delicious and we were both too full for desserts which did look good. We will definitely be back !
Lovely place, Sunday dinner was amazing giant Yorkshire pud, starter wasn’t so good, defo would go again and order different starter, my partner enjoyed all of his starter and main. Also felt very safe.
Staff moved us to a well positioned table for our wedding anniversary meal. The staff were polite, non-intrusive and friendly .
The atmosphere was perfect; subtle lighting, background music and well spaced out seating.
We had the burger with home cooked fries and it was delicious would highly recommend. to be honest neither myself of my husband could have ate anything else after the main course.
The bread with oil and vinegar was OK but nothing special.
The rhubarb gin was delightful.
We would eat at the Fat Badger again when we return to stay at White Hart Hotel.
Visit the Fat Badger and enjoy a beautiful meal.
I ate the Lamb tagine. It was outstanding, best I’ve had (including in Morocco).
Excellent food and very good service. Would definitely recommend to anyone else.
A lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Food was good and portions generous. Would definitely visit again.
Great atmosphere, excellent choice of beers and Badger Burgers are amazing!
