Festival Food & Drink Grill
Located on Liverpool’s vibrant Mathew Street, Festival operates over two floors and offers a choice of mouth-watering dining options. We are sure you will enjoy the eclectic menu we have put together. A festival experience in the city centre – come and join the party!
Food, Service and cocktails were good. It lacked a bit of atmosphere, compared to what was going on outside, but overall good and I would recommend as it is in a prefect location for Cavern club etc.
Cheerful and helpful staff who sorted a minor glitch without fuss or bother. The food was really nice and a perfect start to our Cavern experience.
Great food great atmosphere, right in the very heart of the madness of Mathew street , yet a tranquil Oasis, 4 of us ( 2 couples dined here and we had a first class time
Great venue, excellent food and the staff are exceptional. Maria made us so welcome and couldn't do enough to make sure we had a great evening. Thank you.
We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant so much so that we can honestly say it has been the best experience we have had eating out. The food was amazing, well cooked and presented. The option of cocktails with the meal was a pleasure. One of our sons has issues with food and the restaurant staff bent over backwards to accommodate his needs which is something many restaurants find tiring and therefore do not make an effort. We have been recommending this restaurant to all our friends and family. When we return to Liverpool this will be our first stop for a meal.
Loved the feel of the restaurant, we sat upstairs which was possibly a bit quieter, staff very friendly and helpful, food was lovely, thought it strange the steaks only came with salad, remember to add a side of fries.
Great food, friendly staff and service. Right in the hustle and bustle but quiet enough to have a conversation. Great place to people watch!
Brilliant place to eat. Service excellent. Lovely staff. Great location. Lovely food. Would go again when I am in Liverpool
I had the Scottish salmon and broccoli, it was delicious. Everyone was very attentive and professional. A great experience.
Fish bites starter only 2 seems a bit mean for 5-95
Nachos starter very bland no cheese
Burger was nice
Advertised rack of ribs I would say half a rack smallest iv ever had
It was ok - however we probably wouldn't return considering there are plenty other options within Liverpool. The service however was brilliant and the manager (or supervisor I am not sure) was particularly helpful.
Staff went out of the way to ensure experience was top notch, food came in great time and was cooked as specified. Wait staff even gave recommendations for sauces to accompany dishes, honestly couldn’t of asked for more, best experience in a while, would recommend.
Great food, excellent service and had a great time.
Fantastic place, felt wanted and appriciated especially as this was our first visit and celebrating our anniversary, was made to feel welcome and special.
Fantastic service, food amazing, can't wait to go back!
We chose this restaurant as we were spending the day in the Cavern club, it was just over the road so very convenient. The atmosphere was great, but not to busy (although it was a Tuesday). Food was lovely, a better choice than we first thought. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Would definitely visit again.
We didn’t stay for food as we were very underwhelmed when we arrived. The pictures on line are very miss leading. It was quite dark in the restaurant which made it hard to read the menu.
The staff were very friendly. Had nothing to do with them.
We had our drinks, and left for a pub just down the road which had amazing food, an amazing atmosphere, and was exactly what we were looking for /needed after a long day.
Lovely people and location. All were so lovely! Raccomended
Brilliant food & service. Value for money. Loved the novilty menu with band & song references. Will Deffo come again.
We were celebrating a belated Father's Day and our daughter being offered a new job. Our waitress was Priscilla - she was an absolute delight. Great service, good food and the cocktails are wonderful! Try the watermelon martini with chilli 🍸 :-)
No table for us after we booked it . Told it was Saturday and very busy. I asked is that why you book , stood by the overcrowded bar, awful place, loud music , shouting , pushing.
Horrible place won’t be back
Hi dear, can you please confirm the exact day and time you have booked to dine with us as we strongly believe you are confusing our restaurant. We had plenty of spaces these past few weekends and were never fully booked at any point. The main reason I believe you are getting confused with the venue is because we do not allow customers to order at the bar so the bar is never overcrowded. Perhaps next door to us is where you came to dine, they do two for one cocktails and the bar is always busy.
Fantastic service! Had a great table by the window- very entertaining watching people enjoying themselves on Mathew Street! We were celebrating our anniversary and were each given a lovely glass of Prosecco on the house very happy with that! The food was outstanding the Halloumi bites to start were amazing!!! Then the hanging fillet steak was immense! Staff super friendly too!
Excellent service and food. They gave us complimentary prosecco for our anniversary . Perfect location to eat before we went to the cavern club will definitely be returning.
We will definitely visit again. The guys were so welcoming and very generous in their birthday drink and dessert for the birthday boy! What a lovely surprise it was! The food was delicious! Can’t fault a thing. Can’t wait to return again very soon.
Service in here was excellent, so friendly with lots of help and advice on hand about the food, I am Coeliac (gluten free) and nothing was too much trouble with an extensive choice of food for me to choose from and a great deal of care taken to make sure it was right. The guy who served us was brilliant (sorry I didn't get his name) but he was so attentive and very helpful with wine recommendations, we will definitely be coming back here on our next visit to Liverpool.
Service was excellent. Steak very disappointing. Champions League football on so very busy and noisy. Can not fault the staff
Absolutely fantastic food , great service will definitely go back
We were in Liverpool for 4 nights and ate at Festival 3 of those nights. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was very pleasant, the staff was super friendly and the location directly across the street from The Cavern on Matthew Street was right in the middle of it all! I would recommend Festival to anyone visiting Liverpool!
Great little restaurant in the Cavern quarter. Good food and friendly staff. Would recommend.
Delicious food, great ambience and excellent service. Would definitely go again when next in Liverpool.
Enjoyable evening good value and well attended to by Larissa .
Food was excellent.
Value for money
We enjoyed our meal and were pleased that we got 15% off with our magical mystery tour ticket
We booked for lunch after visiting The Cavern Club opposite. Was a really good menu and the food was lovely. Great desserts and cocktails also.
Great loved it
The food was very good, (ribs and fries) although my cous cous dish was a little bland. The service was good and the waiting staff very friendly. On arrival we asked if we could buy tickets for the Cavern Club and at the end of our meal one of the staff walked us over to the club and we were able to jump the queue and get into the club for free.
Lovely experience, waiters were really attentive and food was really enjoyable.
We booked in advance based on reviews. We booked in for Bank holiday Monday evening. On walking by the day before we were apprehensive as it was so noisy in the street outside opposite the Cavern Club. However on arrival it was pretty quiet outside and inside too as it was not that busy. Service was superb and the food, although different to our normal taste, was really good and worth taking the plunge to try this establishment. The steak was to die for, perfect in every way, one of the best I have had in a long time. It wasn't cheap but that was mainly the cost of the wine which for house red was actually superb, so all in all a great experience throughout. Highly recommended. A bonus was the waitress gave us free entry tickets to the Cavern Club over the street which saved us £5 entry fee, so I can't fault the Festival Grill.
It was my partners birthday and I booked a table in advance. I asked for a window seat and got it. I also mentioned in my booking that it was my partners birthday and the staff went out of their way to make our experience perfect. Well done guys! I think our waiter was Marco and he was 5*!
I really enjoyed the punny menu I thought that was a really nice touch. The options available within the menu were good also, and the Brazilian sausage starter was particularly nice. The only issue is, my dining partner ordered a rare steak and it arrived medium-well. He didn't want to say anything in case they took it away and I was sat eating mine alone, and then he eating his alone. This was a real shame. Otherwise it was very nice
