FIG & OLIVE DC
With locations in Los Angeles, New York and now DC, FIG & OLIVE brings the best of the Riviera to your table.
Service was a bit slower than usual and not as friendly .. come here regularly so have basis for comparison
Went this time for Restaurant Week. Good food and excellent cocktails. I'd forgotten about this little jewel. Won't wait so long to return next time.
delicious brunch with a great atmosphere and a live jazz band downstairs
The cheesecake was delicious!
Excellent service and food. Will return soon to try their brunch as it has been highly recommended.
Service was horrible. Took forever for food to get to our table. It was a 2.5 lunch. Too long.
It was my birthday and I mentioned it on the open table confirmation. My daughter also called them to inform
of our special occasion. It was absolutely ignored and none bothered to acknowledge it. No candle either.
The food was good however I struggled to see anything special in terms of presentation or taste.
Very disappointed overall. Not a BT celebration that would expect from a restaurant that prides itself in delivering memorable experience of elite cuisine.
Great Restaurant Week experience!
My god. This place is AMAZING! Beautiful sexy and the food is delicious. I would love to go here at least once a month just for fun. The drinks were great and my entree was delicious. They cooked my steak very well done when I asked for medium and they quickly changed it and it was so delicious and to my liking. Our server was amazing too.
Although i requested one of the lounge tables ahead of time, we were seated in the upstairs farthest back room which is basically the vibe of a Hilton breakfast buffet room...nothing special. It also reeked of fish because the tables were so close I could only smell the food of the people next to me. We asked for a new table but the only other option was outside, it was better sweating our entire meal than smelling someone else’s fish. Our waiter was rude about my mother who is GF and DF when she simply asked for him to mark this on the menu. A spider dropped down from the umbrella above us. Oh and the host who brought us to our 2 tables was SO awkward, could barely walk his pants were so tight and mumbled. It felt unprofessional and disappointing. Won’t be back but had been many times before and enjoyed....too bad.
Went for dinner for restaurant week with a larger party. They were very accommodating and we were seated right away with water and drinks short after. The food was delicious but we did have to waive our waiter down for more drinks. Otherwise, we had a great time and would come again.
Fig & Olive is a really cool space and it is well run and the staff is really nice - I don't think their prices match the quality. It is a cool spot maybe for some crostinis and happy hour drinks. Otherwise, I think there are better options in DC for a better price. It is a solid choice, but you definitely pay a premium.
It is what it is. Solid and consistent.
Excellent tuna carpaccio starter but chicken tagine was a tasteless humble of ingredients tied together by nothing
My cousin and I attended DC Rest Week. The menu options were great! I enjoyed the carpaccio, salmon and cheesecake. Great service and loved the ability to discount the valet parking with a validated ticket.
Excellent quality dining experience all the way. Loved their truffle risotto!
Great selection for restaurant week. Loved the tuna carpaccio!
Slow and unattentive bar service, but table service was much better. Both bartenders appeared as though they were bored and forced to be there. Remember, smiles are free.
The best part of our dining experience was Randy, the bartender and server. So attentive. He went the extra mile in every way.
Went for restaurant week with my husband. For appetizers we got mushroom Croquette ( delicious- juicy- full of cheese) and yellowfin tuna carpaccio ( wouldn’t get it again)
For entrée we got primavera risotto (meh) and the chicken tajine (to many spices- has a curry taste)
For dessert- pot de crème and brûlée’s cheesecake. Both were good.
The paella was very dry. The croquettes were great! Great service.
Server acted like she didn’t want us to be there
Joined for brunch. Live jazz ensemble playing. The sound was perfect - not disruptive and allowed for casual conversation. Comfortable seating and great service!
Overall, would definitely recommend. The food was delicious, our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable, and the restaurant itself was nicely decorated.
Lovely summer lunch on the patio. Excellent food. Attentive service I'm a particular fan of the olive oil served with bread at the start of the meal. I would definitely recommend Fig & Olive.
So full! Food was amazing!
The food was absolutely incredible and the service was wonderful. We went there for brunch with a large group pf people. Everyone was very pleased. I can't wait to go back!
Everything was great. It was a lovely experience, and definitely will go back. My only complaint would be the drinks come out pretty slow. The food was great, I was hoping for outstanding but I’ll take great. The servers were attentive and they are always coming around filling your water and clearing plates.
Great service for my group of teenagers. They loved the atmosphere and menu (as did I). A very memorable evening.
Food was OK; appetizers were mediocre. The focaccia was really dry and uninteresting. The tuna provencal was actually very good. Everything was overpriced; wines were easily triple the street price for the same bottle. Would not go back.
The menu can be a bit confusing, although the food was very good. There was a lot of raw fish and the plates came in an unexpected fashion. For example, our octopus was sliced extremely thin and was laid out flat, while when you normal order octopus you wouldn’t expect for it to come sliced. Still very good!
Fantastic food, drinks, and atmosphere.
The BEST of Downtown DC is at Fig & Olive - you won’t be unhappy.
The food was very good and the people watching was great. I would recommend it if you are in the area but wouldn't necessarily make it a special trip.
It was my birthday - loved it!
We went there for a Girl’s Brunch. Each of us got the Prix Fixe option so we could all try different foods. Food was great! Highly recommend the mushroom croquettes, the French omelet, and the pot de creme!
The restaurant is located in a very nice area. Food was good but not great - especially for the price you pay. I ordered the bouillabaisse which was under-seasoned. Service was cheerful and professional. There is so much competition of similar restaurants that, unfortunately, I would not be going back.
The waiter was extremely rude. He ruined the experience. The restaurant was empty yet we were told initially we would need to have reservations for an earlier seating. The bouillabaisse was very salty. Overall ambiance was nice but the waiter needs retraining in customer service he was awful!!
Food was great, service was excellent. Cocktails were a little overpriced, but that’s common at brunch in DC. The infused olive oils and focaccia were a fun start to the meal, and the desserts were heavenly. Try the tasting sampler of desserts—all delicious.
Upon entry, we were greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. However, the waitress obviously judged us by our appearance (we came from being outside all day in the 100*++ heat & did not have time to change). We weren’t even given bread, but watched her give it to everyone else around us. Also she had a bit of an attitude when we didn’t like the taste of the bottle of wine & wanted another one. We don’t mind paying for it, if we have to... It’s really not a big deal. It was a bit annoying, though. The waitress started ignoring us as a result, the wine became an unnecessary production, & ended up taking much longer than wanted to get a bottle (got it after we had our appetiser already).
However, the managerial staff was absolutely wonderful and we really appreciated that they continually checked on everyone. And once one of the Managers came over for the wine issue, it was immediately resolved (thank you for that!). Will give this place another go purely for the Hostesses and Managers.
The ambiance is beautiful and like the couch seating. Food was good as well.
