FIRE Restaurant and Lounge
We pride ourselves on creating menus around locally sourced produce. Firmly committed to supporting sustainable local produce we serve the finest selection of meats and produce that Ireland has to offer. Our concept is very simple, take Ireland's finest raw ingredients and use original recipes to create exceptional dishes without getting too complicated.
Our last meal in Dublin before traveling on to the west coast. Everything was first rate even though the restaurant was very busy. The staff all took care of us and the food was amazing. Top marks all around.
Brought some visiting US friends here and it was disappointing. We tried the early bird menu and while what we got was actually fine the servings were skimpy and looked mean. The service was very slow and inefficient- one waiter actually tipped the remains on my plate into my lap and barely apologised.
The noise level was so bad it was impossible to converse with those seated opposite us.
Really noisy place, service not so friendly, food was not amazing and I even had to return the dessert, it was an stale brownie.
Price - quality relation is bad.
We felt tables very close together, noise level quite bad, we had an issue with one of mains, it was taken away and a manager came down to apologise, then the waitress, the desserts weren't great either. We got the bill and charged full price, not even an offer of a free drink or reduction, we paid nearly €200 for meals and drinks !!! Overpriced for an unacceptable meal We wont be returning again, we handed in a complaint form and still awaiting a response
Nice food and really great service, will definitely be back!
Amazing atmosphere, food, service and staff. Excellent as usual.
Fantastic time at the Fire Restaurant in Dublin for a friends 40th Birthday weekend celebration . Meal was outstanding
Prices are too high for the quality of the food and service. Staff could be trained to a more professional standard.
Lovely atmosphere to eat a fabulous meal. Food served quickly and efficiently by very helpful staff. The staff remained attentive throughout our visit ensuring our enjoyment of the beautiful meal.
They were gracious to provide dessert with message to celebrate our anniversary. Nice touch
We booked this as our last night on our honeymoon and were really excited. It’s beautiful on the outside and inside. We initially were greeted and congratulated on our honeymoon downstairs by the staff, which was nice. We got seated and had three different servers ask us for our drink orders... there seemed to be a lot of miscommunications. Then I asked for a gluten free menu (Ireland is really good about allergens) but they didn’t have any so the waitress said she would just tell me what I could and couldn’t have- it felt a bit like an inconvenience. I had to quick pick my entree under pressure. We ordered an initial cocktail drink because we asked and were told the food would take a while and we like to order wine with our food and take our time. The food literally came right after we got the first cocktails. They served us a “happy anniversary” sorbet at the end, which was sweet- even though it was our honeymoon- the gesture was nice. The ambiance was lovely (a little loud) and the food was really good, but for me it’s the staff that can make your experience.
Here’s the chronology of our visit on Wednesday 9th October 2019:
- Arrive on time at 8pm, to be told there’s three groups still waiting to be seated.
- Stand at the bar waiting to be acknowledged by the barman, who is clearly under extreme pressure.
- Fifteen minutes later we are escorted upstairs to our table. Carrying our own drinks wasn’t a drama, but just an offer would have been nice.
- Order our wine, but of the three “Jancis Robinson featured,” Malbec options, they only have two.
- Get our starters at 8.35pm which are nice enough
- Then wait until 9.25pm for our main course to arrive. The much acclaimed Herefordshire steak is tough as an old boot and inedible.
- One of the managers tells me it took so long to deliver, because their steaks take thirty minutes to cook. What nonsense. He graciously tells me he won’t charge for my main course and I tell him he won’t charge for any of it, given my wife doesn’t like to eat on her own!
- I then suggest that the delays and poor quality are because there are at least five groups dining at the same time, with 22, 12, 12, 8 and 8 covers. What hope does that give for a table of two?
- I ask to see the GM who’s downstairs apparently. However when he hears of my situation, he mysteriously becomes unavailable.
- We consume our wine, which cost £210, but obviously with no food.
- We get our bill, which reasonably charges us for our bar drinks and wine. It unreasonably charges us for our starters, which whilst pleasant enough, hardly made up for a shocking dinner experience in total. By the way, their profit margin on the wine was 500% or more, so not as if they’d not made a few Euros!
- The couple next door refuse to pay for their steak as we are settling our bill. Bit of a theme emerging here!
- We depart, having found our coats ourselves.
Take a look on their FB page for even more amazing updates! Unbelievable!
The goats cheese starter was absolutely amazing!!!!
The food was ok the steaks weren’t cooked the way we asked. Our server was excellent. The building was interesting and the decor was great.
Booked a roast lunch which website indicated was available until 1730. Made reservation for 1700 but on being seated we were told all roasts were finished! Very disappointing to say the least as it was a Birthday outing and we specifically wanted a Sunday Roast!
We had the beef roast dinner. The beef was nice, but all veg and potatoes where cold and the gravey tasted burnt.
As part of a hotel the restaurant is nicely located on a corner. The table and seats are comfortable. The serves good and very friendly. Of the food we had, only the caesar salad was of less quality. Far too much dressing. Steaks and pasta were well prepared. The open wines from the region are not my favorite ones, they miss body....
Excellent from start to finish, the nicest prawns I've ever had. My new favourite restaurant.
My rib eye was so stringy as not to be edible. I was not charged for it.
Overall the food was OK . The main point was when we asked for the bill in a matter of two minutes someone came to our table four times with the machine' it put a bad taste before we left we have visited many times and we're quite disappointed on this occasion would welcome any response
Three of us ate here on fri 4th October. Restaurant setting, ambience etc all top class, nice lounge area downstairs. Ten to fifteen minute wait on table again no issue. Restaurant upstairs ,huge place and very busy. Here the 'issues started'. Basically down to service for what is a quite expensive restaurant. We went for set menu three courses at 54.50 per head,tea/coffee included in price. In a nutshell too many people in my view for the number of staff resulting in having to ask twice for say water for the table and even at that waiting a while for it. Same with tea/coffee at the end. Food good but by no means exceptional. Chunky chips with my steak for example only average. We admittedly didnt make any complaints on the spot perhaps should have but would probably have taken even longer to sort them out. i was given coffee at the end rather than the tea I ordered. My dining companions also found the place rather stuffy/hot . Overall five possibly six out of ten max. Wouldn't be rushing back
Very bizarre that we arrived on time for our reservation at 7, yet we were not brought to our table until 7:25.
From there after, the service was very good. Huge portions of food. Tasty.
Amazing starter and desert, main course was a bit tasteless.
The space and service are outstanding, its an amazing surprise when you enter the room.
Cocktails were fabulous.
Staff was great, very friendly although they forgot I had said it was my partners birthday. When I reminded them, they just put a candle in a dessert we had already ordered and put it in my dessert instead of my partners.
We ordered from the set menu, the value was fair but the main was extremely bland, could of had more taste. The starter was tasty, desert was nice.
Amazing roast!!! Haven’t had one out like this for ages...
Cooked to perfection!
My husbands steak top notch!
Service was brill, only slight minor was the seating arrangement. I didn’t like the look of the purple curtain next to us. It was not busy so why not a better seat/view of this beautiful building.
Apart from that...thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Came here for the steak. Ambience, decor and service was great. Could of cooked a better steak at home and saved myself 30 euro. Chefs hadn’t rendered the meat, quality meat was poor, steak was very fatty, oily, bland and peppercorn sauce equally tasteless and runny. Shame as the side dishes and other food was nice. wouldn’t return, feel it’s overpriced- disappointing.
Great location, the dining hall is spectacular, the food is very good with a decent selection. Bar area for pre and post dinner is very pleasant.
Lovely food, excellent service, very good staff and allowed to take time and enjoy so overall very welcoming and would recommend to others.
Very good food with excellent staff. Would definitely come again
Yes for meat eaters, no for vegetarians, vegetarian meal I had was very bland, pasta with a cauliflower sauce
Food is very good, service is excellent (Antonio, our waiter, was definitely smily, kind and very proactive). I found the huge room upstairs very noisy, but it is very well decorated. Nice choice of wines.
Although the food was good, the service experience was pretty poor. It took almost 2 hours to get the food on the table although we were only a party of 6. When asked what was happening, their answer was that the place was full. Sorry guys, but if your kitchen does not have the capacity to attend the demand, you need to redefine your business.
Service was simply bad. We sat down and did not see waiter for 10 minutes. It took a lot more time to get water and order drinks. Simply not enough staff for a high end place. The aged featured steak for 2 which is main reason to go was not in stock. Actually good was fine but not great.
Great service, well presented food!
Acoustic issues... hard to hear even close up conversations. Food ok but too quick to table.. as if it was pre prepared and just waiting to come out
Menu hasn't changed in a long time . Food ready in seconds, was finished a 3 course meal in 35 mins which made my night out for dinner a short one! Overpriced for what the food is.
Service was excellent and friendly - food was very good as always - will be back. As the evening progressed it did get a little noisy.
The food was absolutely amazing but the service was sub par. We were waiting for over 50 minutes for two steaks with no updates. From what we saw it looked like a lot of standing around from staff.
Overall good dinner but felt like it catered to large tour and business groups.
Great experience. You can keep in simple with wonderful starters or a lovely steak dinner. Staff was delightful and helpful
