Our central location in Borough Market means that London’s best produce is right on our doorstep. We are proud to say that we source most of our produce from Borough Market itself, and our fish is delivered daily from our very own fishmonger, Jarvis, which is renowned for its extensive range of the freshest fish and seafood. We're also winners at the National Fish & Chip awards too!
Used to be a huge fan but after a long period of not going, our dining experience was very disappointing. No gluten free bread available so nothing to eat salmon starter with. Main course tuna supposed to be med rare but cooked to oblivion. Vegetables of the day were overcooked runner beans with the top stalks included. Absolutely revolting - not a popular veg and very cheap to serve - dreadful choice for the chef to make.
We have visited this restaurant many times over the last 20 years and the standard has always been superb. The choices of fish dishes are very large and there is always an extra selection from that
day's specials. The service and cooking are always to the highest standard and the wine list is very wide ranging.
Superb all round for food, ambience, staff the lot. Will go when can in the future.
The food was tasty and the portions generous. The only slight negative is that the tables are a little close together.
Visited for an informal weekday dinner. The menu offers a good choice of fish and seafood, and the wine list has nice options. The food was very well cooked and presented, and the service was excellent.
Recommended and I would return.
This was up there with one of my best meals ever. The food was amazing we got a range for the table with bread from the bakery opposite which was Devine, the anchovies and oysters and then the fish cakes. All were amazing! I had the tuna Salad which was so so good and my partner had the chorizo on sour dough with octopus and was lovely. Highly recommend the apple crumble also and the white wine was really good value too.
What a disappointment! We have visited Fish at the Bourough Market several times and have been pleased every time. Not on Saturday. The service was slow and not very good--nice but not competent. One of our party of 4 got the wrong entre and the fish pie for another was terrible under cooked. The service was confusing and made things worse--lots of servers going by but either they didn't do drinks order or only did drinks. They did do orther only clear the table. Won't be back any time soon.
Food was delicious, but we did make the mistake of ordering the wine without looking at the wine list - £10 a glass is on the pricier side but is understandable for the quality and location.
Staff were brilliant, service was swift, and seriously - best tuna steak I've ever had.
Fish is an excellent venue for dining with friends or just a couple. Always a good choice of fish with a variety of cooking methods to meet everyone’s taste and dietary requirements. An open and light environment within Borough Market, close to good transport links, makes it an ideal dining choice. And the staff are friendly and efficient!
Fabulous food, beautifully cooked. An early evening booking which wss a real pleasure
Late Saturday afternoon, rain threatened. Plenty of room inside and can still see and feel the bustle of Borough Market. Wine list was good and reasonably priced. Service was fast, unobtrusive and pleasant. Calamari as a starter was excellent, light batter and just cooked through. Beer battered halibut was over cooked, I expect that was my fault in choosing as deep fried fish needs time to cook the batter, too long for the wonders of halibut - but the taste was excellent, as were the chips. The Cod Cheeks with salsa were revelationary, really good. We’d certainly return when next in the area.
We regularly go to Fish! And always have a nice time. Every time I am over from Australia we head to Borough and generally have the same dish as their Fish pie is great and my wife likes the Halibut & Chips. The staff are always friendly and helpful and would recommend to anyone looking for a nice meal in Borough.
Went you Fish for my birthday. No acknowledgement, despite putting that on the booking form! Recommended by my brother, lived up to expectations. Food was very tasty, good service overall although my dessert never turned up (ordered later when I realised how nice the sorbet and gin was) so partially my own fault. Went bog standard fish hand chips, was nice but suffered food envy when I saw the ‘roast fish of the day’ that my mum and girlfriend had ordered. Overall impressed and given how busy ambiance not affected. Will be back (my girlfriend was a big fan)
Great, as usual.
Second visit and was not disappointed. Had a great evening. Food was wonderful. Service always with a smile😀. Will be back!!
Sat on terrace but really noisy with street sweeping cart.
Food ok but massively overpriced - grilled salmon at £22.50 without sides - £15 would have been closer to the mark.
Service ok but nothing special.
Would go elsewhere next time - there’s better value to be had.
Great place to meet and enjoy a meal. A bit noisy but fun. Rather expensive if you only want fish & chips
Everything you’d expect from an honest fish restaurant and an ideal place to meet up with an old friend. Unfussy and perfectly cooked.
We visited twice during our trip. The first time, even though our server made a mistake with our order, she was very apologetic and responsive and quickly made things right and the food was great. The second time, we came back with friends and were dissapointed. We were handed off between 3 servers which slowed down the service and all meals were undercooked when they finally arrived. I had the langoustines which looked great but were virtually raw inside the shells. I would best describe this place as "inconsistent". Be prepared to send your meals back to get them done right.
Okay. But somewhat pricy and average quality of food. Mashed potato was dry and stodgy- needed lashings more butter in there!
Very average. Small portions and expensive. Service not great. Restaurant fairly empty but waited about 10 minutes for someone to come and take order.
Very busy and noisy. Fish over cooked, vegetables very under cooked and the soup was literally boiling hot - unbearable. Lots of flies. Staff was very good but they were clearly run off their feet.
Nice venue but hard to find the entrance as so busy outside. Should be better signposted.
Food quality good but obviously London prices take some getting use to. Service very attentive and excellent wines.
Would go there again in future though as good choice of fish on menu including specials.
Popcorn Cockles Mussels, Smoked haddock rarebit, Skate wing with Capers and Mash, Bread and Butter Pudding. My wife had Thai Fish Cakes and Cod and Chips. What is not to like? Great way to spend the afternoon when its pouring outside. A nice Viognier and we were not rushed out of the restaurant - probably 2 hours plus. Great.
We came here on recommendation to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful time, we were looked after really well and we’re made to feel very special. I had the crab starter which was absolutely divine! Everything we were presented with was exceptional, including the drinks. I would highly recommend this as a place to eat if you love fish. Great location too- right by borough market.
I visited with international family who wanted 'proper' fish and chips. They enjoyed their food. I however, as a vegetarian was left with a sad looking stuffed pepper who hacked flavour and was definately and after thought. I wider vegetarian selection needed.
Good fish-based menu - we did starters as sharing plates which gave us a nice variety of food and a good portion size for lunch. All nicely presented and good service on the whole.
Good choice of menu and value for money for location but fairly noisy outside with Borough Market and London Bridge station adjacent.
We were served by a wonderful lady called Maria she made our evening - wonderful service with a wonderful, real credit to the restaurant and food was fabulous
Fabulous food would definitely return again for food. Restaurant nice ambience but music a bit on the loud side.
Lovely meal, great service from wonderful friendly waiter named Andrea ! Enjoyed it so much -- as I knew I would -- going back with another bunch of six friends on August 7 in the evening
Thank you so much
I thought the pre-advertised turnaround time of 1.5 hours was a bit harsh - most in Covent Garden tend to be 2 hours but I thought so be it.
Food great, service excellent but there was less than 5 mins between starter and main course - 6.30 booking - eating main by 7.05! Sat for 45 minutes drinking our bottle of wine!
OK - have 1.5 hours - but please let my starter go down before my main arrives! Silly really to rush - if we went back we wouldn't have a starter and they lose £20.
Salty and below average food
Food was just warm, disappointed!
Quite a Noisy party on centre table.
If we came again I would certainly request that the food was hot when it was served.
Popcorn Cockles, Oysters and Dover sole.... you can’t go wrong... Great location...
Thai fish cakes for starter were not good and did not taste fresh. Fish mains were good but nothing special. Desserts were also good but overpriced.
Lovely restaurant and great service! Lovely staff xx
A very nice place; excellent food; my best fish and chips (Code) in London
Great service waiters bent over backwards to please and very friendly..Food and presentation 8 of 10
