Fishers combines the intimacy of a neighbourhood restaurant, with a polished menu and attentive, personal service. The entire menu is sourced seasonally, sensibly and ethically.
Fishers Restaurant is located in the heart of Clifton Village, Bristol a beautiful Georgian shopping quarter featuring a plethora of independent boutiques, hotels, shops, delis and jewellers… Just a stroll away from Brunel’s Suspension Bridge, Royal York Crescent, the Zoological gardens and Durdham Downs, Fishers is the perfect place for a lunch interlude or a destination dinner.
Lovely food at decent price. Staff we're professional and polite. A joy. Will visit again.
Brilliant food, lovely staff who were genuinely funny and welcoming. Great atmosphere, will definitely be back soon!
Everything was delightful. Perhaps it would be a good idea to offer french fries as well as chunky chips.
Lovely restaurant. Great Food and Good service. Fantastic restaurant for coeliacs or those intolerant to gluten and or dairy. Battered King prawns and Fish and Chips both particularly spectacular. Excellent value too!
Excellent. Will definitely come back. Food and service both very good.
Very enjoyable evening with friends and food to match.
The fish was excellent but very limited choice of side dishes - vegetables to go with it, and what we had was very expensive - £4.25 for a small pot of peas (described as 'peas & leeks' on the bill). I asked for no cream with my s. t. pudding but still had to pay£1.50 for a scoop of ice cream. Ambience of our table by the door was poor.
Was a quiet evening for them so the restaurant was quiet but the food we ate all fish and shellfish was perfecte. Service was friendly and suitably attentive ie not too over the top considering the low level of diners! Wine really good value.
We discussed that the noise level was perfect, lovely gentle music which did not a intrude. Service was excellent and good choice of food. I am gluten and dairy free and there was even dessert options for me.
Staff were absolutely superb, food was lovely and great value. Couldn’t fault the evening. Thank you Fishers
Excellent food, friendly, helpful staff and a lovely relaxed atmosphere
Delicious, fresh and imaginative food with an ever-changing menu. Perfect service. Lovely location and genial clientele.
Seated upstairs and round a corner so spent evening looking at wall hearing merriness below - despite booking over a month prior. Obviously faces didn't fit to be seen from street! On being seated informed no bouillabaisse - in a fish restaurant at 8.15 on a Friday - and then when had chosen main courses were told they didn't have them either. Had to chase forgotten drinks. Food wss good, and hot, and wine was great, and chilled. Overall I expect more from a dining experience for £70 a head
We were upstairs and 2 large tables left after our starters. So only us and a couple remained. The room was cold and the waitress started moving tables around while we were eating and noisily cleared tables coverings. Also waitresses only mentioned we may want a side when it main meal came.
Great staff, great vibe, and the fish was delicious and tasty! Altogether, I had a lovely experience with family and friends.
Very pleasant evening at Fishers with my sister in law who’s been several times. Not too noisy but a good atmosphere. Food was good although two fish cakes was a bit too much for me! Lovely wine and great staff. My only slight niggle would be the table was a bit cramped and the bench seat very close to the wall so felt a bit hemmed in! Other than that really lovely x
I thought the staff were great and service top draw just thought that the fish cakes were average and not freshly made.
I wouldn’t think I’ll go back in a hurry.
Value for money and nice time
Completely underwealmed, frozen whitebait I can live with, 6 of the smallest oysters I've ever had for £28 followed by the hot shellfish platter which was about 1kg of mussels, 2 scallops, maybe 6 prawns and a few very small razor clams for £46. Awful
What a fantastic meal! The food was incredible as ever, and the service was lovely. Thanks again for a really wonderful meal. I'll be back! 😊
Set lunch menu - amazing value for money. I can also recommend the oysters.
Nice restaurant. Good quality food cooked well. Excellent for dietary restrictions as all the food is cooked from scratch
Fantastic food and service, we will be back.
Nice setting and good value for me net.
Great value on early bird menus
Have been on several occasions and will keep going back
We've been coming to Fishers for about 13 years and always found the food and service excellent.
Food lovely , waiter fantastic, toilets filthy and we were shoved upstairs where there is more atmosphere on the moon on a weekday evening. Disappointed after a recommendation.
Great, seasonal menu. Child friendly. Always a great place to visit.
Great ambiance, attentive, but not over-attentive staff, great food and a good variety of choices. Overall thoroughly recommended.
Great food and friendly service.
Highly recommend! Will be back soon
Food was acceptable for the price. Service was slow and waitresses were slightly disinterested. Decor was tired and so were the toilets - place looked like it needed a good clean and a ‘fresh’ lot of staff. We paid over £4 for a tiny plate of anchovies in oil as an appetiser which was extortionate. The menu was limited in terms of the variety of fish that was available. One of our children had the mussels - we had to ask for the bread that it supposedly came with - but it was delicious. We also had to ask (and wait) for a finger bowl which we would have expected to have been automatically provided with mussels. The fish cakes and battered haddocks were tasty, but no better than we’d have had in a ‘gastropub’. I used to work in a Fishers restaurant as a student twenty years ago and I think the chain really has had its time, in fact I’m surprised it’s survived based on our experience. My family and I will certainly not be returning - there are far better restaurants to choose from.
We have been to Fishers a number of times as my wife loves seafood. We booked a visit for her 40th Birthday lunch with our 2 children. On arrival we were seated on a tiny table, service was incredibly slow, other customers were also commenting on this. Everyone was squeezed in down stairs and it was very loud! When our food finally arrived my Cod was over cooked and they forgot the bread with my son’s dinner, the sharing seafood platter was 70% muscles and clams, with only a tiny portion of the more expensive shellfish, not £46 worth of shellfish! Very disappointing and extremely expensive for what we received. We will not be returning again.
Good value. Cod fillet was delicious. Food served in a timely manner for each course.
The table was available earlier than booked which was a godsend. The food was fantastic, full of flavour and brought hot to the table. Service was relaxed but the serving staff checked in enough to add to the ambiance.
Lovely Friday night meal
The service from all the staff was exceptional. So helpfull and mind seeing as we had a 10 month old baby with us. The food was great although we had a very small portion of chips for the money. Had the sea food wok which was lovely Thanks Clifton
Came following a recommendation, really enjoyed our starters of smoked mackerel pate and bouillabaisse. Mains of tuna salad and whole place were well cooked but just couldn’t finish .
Service was good, not to fussy and atmosphere is laid back. Just wish you were closer so we could come again
Booked a table on Sunday evening after previously having a really bad visit here a few months ago.
As we were there early evening we thought we'd give the set menu a try and were not disappointed!
The food this time was fantastic and at such a good price.
We now look forward to returning again.
Absolutely recommend this restaurant as being welcoming, efficient, great food and good value for money. They have a loyalty card which is well worth getting if you are likely to return. The suggestions as to 'plate of the day' from the staff are worth while and they won't put you off anything you particularly fancy. Loads of choice and quite often I go for 2 starters rather than starter and main or main and pud. But you should save yourself for puds - they have an excellent selection! Go there!
Service is hit and miss here, food as always good.
We had a poor service day.
Excellent food and service 😄
Would definitely go back
