Fishers combines the intimacy of a neighbourhood restaurant, with a polished menu and attentive, personal service. The entire menu is sourced seasonally, sensibly and ethically.
Fishers Restaurant is located in the heart of Clifton Village, Bristol a beautiful Georgian shopping quarter featuring a plethora of independent boutiques, hotels, shops, delis and jewellers… Just a stroll away from Brunel’s Suspension Bridge, Royal York Crescent, the Zoological gardens and Durdham Downs, Fishers is the perfect place for a lunch interlude or a destination dinner.
An excellent experience, as always. Fishers is one of Bristol's best independent restaurants, with a varied, seasonal menu and great value lunchtime specials. They're kid friendly too.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Fishers. The ambiance was very welcoming and the service friendly and just right! Food was delicious. Thank you.
The food was great but the restaurant was full and the staff were struggling to cope. Bread and olives arrived at the table at the same time as the starters. Had to ask twice for water and then asked twice for our wine. Long delay between starters and main course (45 mins). The staff were apologetic though I will certainly return.
they have a good quality ingredients but unfortunatly i wasn t impress with my scallops dirty beats around the white and orange parts.
My husband had the mussels one of them had sands in it.
it is a very expensive restaurant so i expect the food to be at its best but it wasn t.
overall i was dissappoited
Good cosy but not crushed seafood restaurant in centre of Clifton’s shopping area . Attentive if under resourced service team. Good quality food and preparation more classical than modern all done in an up to date style . Thoughtful wine list.
Excellent as usual, never disappoints!
Excellent food, service... I love this place.
Good friendly service. In 65 years, the best fish and chips I have ever eaten.
It was a lovely late Sunday lunch, the staff were great and we loved the food
Good meal, nice ambience, attentive staff. Quite expensive but good quality fish dishes. Lacking in vegan options.
Utterly delicious food, have been back again twice after our first visit, and told friends and family about it!
the food is very good well cooked well presented , but the restaurant service is very poor it’s such a shame the owner really needs to get it sorted Quickly !
Very nice evening. We had asked for a quiet table which we received. Tables (or rather the chairs) are close together – bad luck if you are sitting behind someone with a paunch. The menu was varied and all the food we chose was freshly cooked and delicious. Our party had a variety of dishes so no particular winners as they were all fine. Desserts disappointing – plenty of sweet and rich choices if that is what is required. Service friendly. We can recommend and will go back
Really reasonable selection of dishes, and drinks, prices fine and the ice was great.
based on the food yes, based on the service, i would warn them about this beforehand
We have been here many times for celebration meals and were so sad that our experience on Saturday was so disappointing. We had booked over a week in advance for a party of 6. We arrived a couple of minutes early to be told our table was just being cleared. 10 minutes later we were still standing in the crowded restaurant as staff went past us. After pointing out my elderly father 88 needed to sit down we were taken to our table and told they would ready it around us which they did. There were only 2 copies of the menu available and we were told they were printing more. After nearly 10 minutes we chased this and there were brought but some options had been removed so we had to choose again. Eventually someone came to take our order. They then returned to say one option was not available do a new choice was made again. They then returned again to say another option was not available and we chose again. They then returned to say another option was not available. By this time we had been there 45 minutes. We had drunk all the water but our drinks order had not come and some people were on their 4th choice of menu. At that point sadly we left. Greedy over booking and lack of staff ruined what was meant to be a celebration evening.
Food was fine but nothing special; menu was disappointing. I expected proper fresh fish from the sea but it was mostly salmon. Very under-staffed for a Saturday lunchtime so service was very slow, almost to the point where we thought they had lost interest in us.
Food excellent, wine well priced, service friendly but not over-familiar. A great place to eat in Clifton. An unhesitating recommendation and will return to try more of the delightful-looking dishes on the menu.
Lovely food, great staff and atmosphere. Always well looked after.
The seafood was truly fresh and delicious. The wine and cider matched the meal perfectly. Great service and an unforgettable experience. Thank you
A full Friday evening restaurant provided a good, but not spectacular night out.
Service on two of the three courses was slow. Waiting staff however very cheerful and pleasant.
Some diners on tables had extremely loud voices, probably louder alongside alcohol intake. This made the small restaurant less pleasant.
Will we go again? Not for a bit.
Very good value for money! We went on a week night so it was fairly quiet and service to take our orders did take a little while, Although this wasn’t a problem for us as we were in no rush. Food came out quick once ordered.
The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us even though it took a while to take our order and bring the bill.
Had food off the early evening set menu which was fabulous and amazing value for money, would highly recommend
Our new years experience with Fishers was perfect. Good wine, great food and very friendly and prompt service. There was a long wait to take our first drinks order but this was to be expected on a busy new years eve. Once our orders were taken, we didnt wait for anything, it all just arrived and it was perfect. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone and will definately go back.
Lovely NY Eve meal. Steak was tender and Sea Bass perfectly cooked. Highly recommend!
Lovely restaurant in Clifton Village with good service although we were one table of 3 dining on Monday lunchtime so can’t really judge what it would be like on a busy service. I was disappointed with the portion size to cost. My friend and I had 2 starters each (starter sizes) with a 125ml glass of wine and it cost us over £60.00 which was I felt was overpriced for the amount of food received. Shame as I’ve wanted to dine here for many years.
The waitress and waiter are excellent. They are very attentive with a great sense of humour.
Popped in for lunch before going to an exhibition. Good menu with plenty of choice and gluten free and dairy free options. Very good mussels (we had the dairy free option), with side of chips with mayo - could have been in Brussels. Had some red wine by the glass and this was good too - so many places don’t have a good wine by the glass. Nice decaff espresso too. Being a Saturday just after Christmas, it was busy and completely full downstairs by 13.00. Booking advisable although there is an upstairs that was filling up. Parking is impossible - mostly permit only and any public spaces in the immediate area taken - I had to park 10 minutes’ walk away. However, still possible to drop off my mobility challenged partner outside and drive off to find a space. Would definitely go back if we go to Bristol again.
Good quality seafood and fish, well cooked and there is something for everyone. Lovely friendly and relaxed ambience.
Nice food, but not a very enjoyable dining experience. Service was slow and although we had booked a table, when we walked into the restaurant there was no welcome and the service staff member looked aggrieved to have to deal with us. Waited a long time to have our order taken, missing parts of main meal we had to ask for. Staff looked stress and were difficult to get hold of for drinks etc, we ended up just with our table water. Just a bit of a shame really after looking forward to going out for a me, we won’t be back unfortunately.
Cosy and romantic - although probably a bit quieter than usual when we went on a Sunday night. The food was very well presented with friendly service. High standards in the kitchen but a disappointing lack of choice for the additional vegetables.
We had a lovely evening - our taxi was running late but we were still welcomed without a fuss. The food and service were excellent - we’ll definitely be back again. Thank you 😊
Very good value, well presented , excellent menu. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Will definitely revisit and recommend to friends
This was a gem of a restaurant. The staff were warm and friendly, the ambience was lovely. The food pretty much perfect. I'd strongly recommend booking here.
Lovely food at decent price. Staff we're professional and polite. A joy. Will visit again.
Brilliant food, lovely staff who were genuinely funny and welcoming. Great atmosphere, will definitely be back soon!
Everything was delightful. Perhaps it would be a good idea to offer french fries as well as chunky chips.
Lovely restaurant. Great Food and Good service. Fantastic restaurant for coeliacs or those intolerant to gluten and or dairy. Battered King prawns and Fish and Chips both particularly spectacular. Excellent value too!
Excellent. Will definitely come back. Food and service both very good.
Very enjoyable evening with friends and food to match.
The fish was excellent but very limited choice of side dishes - vegetables to go with it, and what we had was very expensive - £4.25 for a small pot of peas (described as 'peas & leeks' on the bill). I asked for no cream with my s. t. pudding but still had to pay£1.50 for a scoop of ice cream. Ambience of our table by the door was poor.
