I dined at Fishworks on Tuesday and loved it so much that I went back again the following Saturday. I took my mother-in-law who has to be careful with her food as she has a delicate stomach and can only eat carefully prepared food. She tucked into the fish soup and the cod and chips and said afterwards that not only was it very tasty but also that her stomach was very happy! This is now my top choice for restaurant in Covent Garden (or indeed all of West End) if I fancy fish.

Conveniently located restaurant for anyone visiting the nearby theatres or looking for a place to eat away from busy Covent Garden. Even when the restaurant got busy it still had an quite ambience and you felt rushed. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was extremely fresh and with great flavour.
A special thank you to Elenora our waitress who’s friendly service made experience even better. Highly recommend anyone visiting the area,

We were offered a choice of table and although we were only 2, were given a nice spacious table of 4 next to the window. We had the pre-theatre menu which was very good value. Being pre-theatre it was also good that it was served promptly so there was no last minute dash to get to the theatre. My only slight issue is that my companion had the sea bass which came with no accompaniments - had I not shared with him some of my chips he might have been a little hungry. He did however say that the sea bass was lovely and my fish and chips was certainly excellent.

Nice welcome, then ordered. The waitress fetched our starters before our oysters so had to return them. Then fetched out our main course before we had got starters, fetched main out yet again before we explained we still hadn’t had starters! Not very well organised

Really enjoyable meal at Fishworks. After being promptly seated at a very nice table (lucky enough to get a window 4-topper although we were a party of 2), we had an outstanding fish soup appetizer followed by an excellent, right-off-the-boat Dover sole. Other selections were also good, if not quite as memorable. Friendly service, happy room vibe, and an altogether pleasant evening.

Great restaurant where we have been several times before. This time we were hurried on but the downstairs waiter. Whilst I appreciate time slots we weren't in a fast food restaurant. Otherwise usually a great restaurant.

Lovely relaxed place, we sampled the pre theatre menu: the smoked salmon was delicious served with fantastic bread, the scallops won praise from those who had them. The blackened mackerel was very tasty and not too spicy, the cod and chips was great crispy light batter and fantastic flakey cod. The Cornish wine from the maritime section on the wine list complimented the food brilliantly. Great friendly service to top it all - will definitely go back..

This was our first time and we will return. The food was excellent. The fish was clearly fresh and very well cooked in deed. Service was charming although a little slow, especially bearing in mind we had told our waiter on arriving that we anted the pre-theatre menu because we were going to the theatre,
Overall though we had a good meal and will happily go again

Very quiet when we we got there, but it had just opened!
Welcomed by a very friendly waiter and seated at a table of our choice.
A waitress was good at suggesting wines (spot on) and answering any questions about the menu.
All our food was excellently cooked, and sensibly portioned.
As the restaurant filled up the ambience improved.
Great food, great service and excellent location.

Woolly, disintegrating prawns and the lobster was even worse: the grey bits you (should) take out were mixed in with the meat, it was tasteless and had cheap plasticy cheese melted on it, in a nod to thermidor, but fell far short. Service was friendly and pleasant though.

The service was great our waitress was amazing, however the food was poor. The 3 scallops were small and covered in breadcrumbs to disguise the size!
The fish with chips, well honestly a fish and chip shop would have been better. The chips were thrown on the plate and certainly not triple cooked!

Would not visit again

Have Loch Fyne Card - and surprised when restaurant in Convent Garden changed hands.
Has taken me time, and the 40% voucher persuaded me and a group of friends.
Well worth the visit. Dover sole was perfectly cooked for me, and I like having the uncooked fresh fish presented first. The oysters likewise had tasted just as fresh.
Well looked after by Martha and the Manager Suzanne, who were friendly and thoughtful.
The meal was delicious, well served and enjoyable.

The Covent Garden Fishworks is beautifully light and has a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were very efficient and helpful, but not pushy. There was a charming Japanese waiter who looked after us. The food was delicious, we had the mussels as a main course and they were cooked to perfection. It was also a very reasonably priced meal as we has a discount voucher . I would happily recommend Fishworks to all my friends.

Our first visit - and we'll be back! Excellent seafood menu and most professional and very pleasant staff. The reason for not giving 5 stars was because of the very slow service (pre theatre peak time 17:30 - 19:30) ). Other than that we would highly recommend - but after 19:30!

We have been here on various occasions and have always really enjoyed the food, ambiance and service. The fish is always tasty and fresh and very well done. The service is always friendly and attentive. On this occasion the chips were a little undercooked and did need to go back. Otherwise everything was perfect. We would very much recommend this superb fish restaurant.

This is the second time I have been to FishWorks. The fish is superbly cooked and quite delicious. Do ask when ordering how you like it cooked.
Unfortunately the desserts are a disappointment.

We have been quite regulars at this and their Swallow Street restaurant, but this time was very disappointing. The dover sole was presented almost uncooked, sent back, but returned only very little better. Even the mixed salad was poor. OK, they cancelled the sole and the salad off the bill, but that didn't improve the food.

We have been semi-regulars at the Fishworks Marylebone location when we visit, and decided to try another branch. Very fresh local seafood, well-prepared. Good wine list. The restaurant is bright and buzzy, an easy walk from Covent Garden. Fun for a group, probably too loud for intimate conversation on a weekend. Staff were a bit run off their feet on a weekend night, but were working hard.

We wanted a romantic retreat and read the food reviews, despite everything being fantastic, a table by the window and not in the main area would have been better which we requested at booking, just as we wanted to talk! However, staff, food and drinks and the no pressure to rush made up for that and we really did enjoy our time! The fish platter was fabulous and pleased we ordered it, but do not worry about side dishes, there is plenty and it was very tasty. Thank you for the experience x

This restaurant was a great ending for date night. As we entered we were welcomed by staff and by fresh seafood displayed at the entrance. As we approached our table, I realised the a minor negative thing I spotted about the restaurant was everything was quite tight, but this was no big deal

The service was great, and the food arrived in a timely manner. Very delicious well seasoned flavours. We ordered the lobster and the sea bass and they were both great.

10/10. The prices were quite high, but totally worth it. Will definitely visit again
