Great place so sad for the staff regarding the virus
This restaurant has a calm and relaxed atmosphere. The service was friendly and relaxed and the food excellent. My only issue is the very high prices - £36 for a small Dover sole with no accompaniments. It was delicious and beautifully cooked but the price was a bit over the top
Service was poor, food was abhorrent and we will not return.
Really excellent fish soup, followed by blackened mackerel from the menu of the day, both delicious and good value; the waiter was helpful and knowledgeable.
Excellent fish choices always fresh, cooked to perfection. Friendly attentive staff!
Great
If I am back in London soon will go back great seafood and service
Wine was great to
We had a very good lunch, the fish was delicious and really fresh.
Waiter and waitress attentive and friendly. Not too busy on a Friday at 1.00
Scottish salmon and yellowfin. Keeps me going back
Very good pre theatre menu and great service and the quality and presentation was very good.
Fishworks consistently offers the freshest fish I know of in London
Excellent value for the set menu and very good quality fresh fish and presentation. I am never disappointed when I go there.
Disappointed to receive prawns instead of calamari which we were told by the waitress that that was not on the menu, though it’s something we had ordered before. Perhaps the menus differ brach to branch. Other than that, great fresh food, lovely wine and overall great experience.
Excellent food, lovely location.
The pre-theatre set menu (available up to 6pm) was good value for money and the wine was reasonably priced. A good location, close to West End theatres.
The menu has provided good choice varieties. I asked for pan fried fish and was told this was not provided for. The grilled salmon is very good. No complaint.
We had the pre-theatre menu which worked perfectly
Service was just right and food was good if not fantastic
Very fresh oysters. Delicious grilled lobster. Very attentive service. And all reasonably priced, especially for Mayfair
Very nice. Been there many times. Food delicious but getting expensive. Nice friendly staff
Usually a big fan but the service was so mixed. Basic errors in the kitchen like cold fish lightly seared
Always reliable. Friendly ,helpful staff and the food is of the highest quality. We have never been disappointed.
Everything was just great.
I chose mussels to start and they were small, so tender and sweet.
My main course of Dover Sole and it cooked to perfection
Thoroughly enjoyable meal with lovely staff - would definitely return!
We used to go to this place for many years, but laser experience was very dissapointing., especially main dishes, all of them!
It was my first time here.. brought my sister and brother-in-law over for a holiday.
Whole sea bass, apparently sensational, filleted sea bass apparently sensational, the hake special good but very firm and I had battered cod and chips with the best mushy peas I've tasted in a restaurant.. the starters were all good.. a good value restaurant plus 2 bottles of wine and several glasses of sparkling wine, oh and a coffee or two all at around ££75 a head.. pretty good for West end prices..
The food here is consistently good and I love the bouillabaisse. I ordered “blinis with smoked salmon and caviar” as a starter from the Specials menu and was surprised to be presented with a single measly blini with not much caviar, looking very lonely in the middle of the plate! My exclamation of “only one” was greeted with the retort that caviar is expensive. Once I showed that the menu described “blinis” in the plural it was claimed that there was a mistake with the menu, but they did eventually agree to bring me one more. Could do better.
The lobster was amazing, the ambiance great and wine was the right choice. I will come again.
Service was good, wine lovely. Fish stew a real disappointment, little flavour and little fish! Scallops unimaginative and turbot dull. Sorry!
Stale squid rings, clearly double fried to make them warm again/look ‘fresh’ - never again. There are plenty of far better seafood places, don’t waste your money there. Poor service, special request completely ignored.
We experienced an enjoyable meal in the Fishworks. Very good value for London, two persons for just shy of 170.00 for a fish tasting 3 tier stacked platter and a buttered lobster with drinks.
Our only gripes was the guy serving our table lacked enthusiasm, lobster was on the overcooked side and the oysters were not shucked correctly. Truly great seafood does not seem to exist in the UK, venture to Brittany for an authentic Fruit de Mer experience.
The restaurant is conveniently located and handsomely designed.
The first course (the mixed, fried dish) was overly salty. the fish and chips were good. However the cauliflower puree served with the hake was cold and the hake was insufficiently cooked through.
The service was efficient and pleasant.
If you like fish, seafood and dining out then you’ll absolutely love Fishworks even the wine here is always excellent.
Have also been to the one in Covent Garden and would say the same as for Swallow St.
As usual, the range of really fresh fish is excellent. Pleased to see that Service on this occasion was also back up to standard, in particular the waiters were on it - pleasant, available when required and without being too intrusive. Back in our good books!
Always love dining at fish works. It’s a family must when we are in London. Lovely food great service. We will definitely be back soon.
The service charge when the bill came gave me a bit of a shock. It made a meal for one pretty expensive.
However I enjoyed the meal before the bill!
The fish was excellent but the new potatoes side dish was over priced and some were under cooked. The service was good. I think it was over priced It.
Special restaurant for fish lovers
This is a great little Fish restaurant and I;m looking forward to a return visit soon...
Truly delightful pre theatre dinner, if you're a seafood lover don't miss this place!
Excellent all round, although it was made better with a Fishworks promotional 40% off food voucher
As always the food was excellent and service attentive without being overbearing.
Special value with 40% off Menu greatly appreciated
Great service and excellent food and wine
