We eat here every time we visit Burlington house. The food is always delicious and service very good. We always recommend Fishworks to friends who like fish and are visiting London
Have used this restaurant many times but very disappointed this time. Quality & standard of food & staff + service well below previous standards.
Able to book 10 minutes before arrival.
Staff were very accommodating, so long as we didn’t want any of the premium tables in the window. 12.5% service charge was a bit steep on a £150 dinner for two, which was over after 1 hour...
Food delivery to table was very quick.
AMAZING OYSTER!!!!! Absolutely wonderful and tasty, I ate 24!!
Same as for scallop very delicious!!
Great service, food and quality.
Just found the overall noise level hard to manage conversations but will be back in before Christmas as its my wife's favourite place in town.
We were hoping to enjoy the lunchtime menu at £18 but were unaware that this is not available on a Friday. We spent somewhat more than we had anticipated for a simple lunch but it was well worth the money. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Would certainly return and maybe enjoy the lunch menu next time. Good, attentive service.
Good quality, simple fish restaurant. Could improve wine list.
Great service and excellent food.
Hi EDG73, Thank you for your review, I am glad you had a great time with us and hoping to see you back soon! Rea and The Fishworks Swallow street
Disappointing return visit here. Good fish but desserts were dreadful. Worst aspect was appalling service. Left waiting for ages at entrance - had to shout out for attention. Had trouble identifying our booking. Told to sit "anywhere" - then moved to another table. Not busy. Along with adjacent table, we were left waiting for ages for main course and even longer for dessert. Adjacent table went to look for someone to serve us all. Waitress was a sweet student - not really her fault. No "Maitre D". Restaurant lacked any kind of Supervision. Member of staff sat at an adjacent table working on a laptop and ignored all customers. Finally offered free deserts and discount off price. Will not return.
Food and service was very good. Table for two was extremely small so much so they had to remove bottle of wine to make room for our food which was not significant. The ramekins for both starter and main courses were quite badly chipped.
Sadly we were not eligible for the 2 course lunch deal, dining on Friday but the food was well cooked and our waitress was excellent.
Modern and simple yet tasteful interior.
Friendly Service all in all, although only once we ordered £100+ per head food were we allocated a better table...
Food is good! Good choice of fresh seafood!
We composed a tapas-like menu for the two of us and the kitchen and service delivered this perfectly fine!
My friend and I had a late dinner during the week. We were warmly welcomed and given a delightful table by the window. The service was friendly and attentive and the food arrived in good time and was quite delicious. The atmosphere was relaxed and at a level where conversation was easy. Very nice indeed, thank you!
Great location / easy access. Staff very welcoming and pleasant. Food excellent; very fresh and some excellent menu choices.
Excellent service by Maria, the general manager. The fish and chips were absolutely fantastic. The size of the fish was huge and it was just delicious. I will be going back soon I hope!
Beautifully cooked well presented dishes - always love the simple preparation where the fish is fresh and cooked just right!
Excellent as always
Excellent lunch. The two courses for £18 was excellent value and well presented. Staff were attentive but did not rush us. Big thumbs up all round.
Food well up to standard and the £18 lunch menu is good value for money, especially in Piccadilly.
Good service complemented the good food
We arrived early. No problem. Staff were very welcoming. Food (very good choice on menu) was excellent. Didn't know this restaurant before. Would certainly go again.
My 2nd visit to Fishworks good food and good service, just can't get 5 stars as bill does up in there our lunch for two was over £300.00.
Great food and really overly service
We felt like an inconvenience, waiter Francesco P was rude, uninterested and food was as bland as his personality....
Will not go again even though previous visits were good
Take it off the go to list...
I'm feeling like a very spoilt adult but this place didn't really set me on fire... the service was a little slack and we had long waits for things, even to be asked for a drink on arrival (see their menu!)
That said what we ate was good but the whole "market" section of the menu was avoided... by the staff, so we didn't have that... when we left the fish market looked great and we wished this had been presented to us as an option... I feel that the staff were less than dynamic and they missed a trick and so did we!
Nice ambience but v noisy. At least second visit. So previous visits must have been fine. Was a Friday night so expect busy but many free tables just not enough staff in the kitchen I suppose as very slow service although lovely front of house staff.
My friend felt v sick just after starting to eat her fish and chips (which we had to wAit about an hour for) and then couldn’t eat any of it. Maybe she was allergic to something in it - in fairness the staff took it off bill - but v unusual reaction for her. My mackerel an already oily fish was made far too oily by the marinade and left me feeling not great. Maybe just a series of unfortunate events but...
As usual the food and service was superb. I always enjoy my evenings at Fishworks!!
Lobster Thermidor a little disappointing as wasn’t expecting mashed potatoes in the shell and the Thermidor was more of a cheese topping
I chose Fishworks on a friend’s recommendation because of the option to choose a particular fish from the slab & decide how to have it cooked. We were delighted to find really good sized John Dory available, a fish I’ve barely seen available in UK for 40 years, seasoned & cooked to perfection in black butter and capers, accompanied by a glass of excellent Pouilly Fuisse. I’d have a slight complaint that the apparently twice cooked chips were pale and soggy and a bit of a disappointment. We should have opted for more of the good compagne style bread.
Service was responsive but light. There is a 12.5% service charge in bill. To be honest if there hadn't been we’d have left more.
Always like going to Fishworks, good variety of choice and freindly service
A fabulous central London venue for delicious fish.
The set lunch menu was great value for money - though a larger portion of the wonderful fish soup would have been welcome!
Wet fish counter too should you wish to purchase your dinner!
It was a convenient location for us. Quite a nice room but not many customers. Service was good. All let down by overcooked fish, in a fish restaurant. Plus flavours too strong and overpowering the fish.
Deserts were good.
Great service, great value, and the seafood was delicious and incredibly fresh. Best oysters I have eaten in London so far (much better than Borough Market). My biggest critique is that the tables are too close together. We were far too close to other guests, and really needed just a little more privacy. When people stood up to use the bathroom it was really awkward and also the waiters are almost on top of the adjacent tables when taking orders. Otherwise it was a perfect experience.
This restaurant has a nice relaxed atmosphere and the staff are really helpful. I had the mussels as a main course and they were excellent and a generous amount. I go here frequently when in London and have never been disappointed.
Delicious cod and chips like my aunty Rita used to make, excellent Côte de Rhône,superb apple crumble. Exceptionally polite and friendly service from Carol.
If you prefer fish this really is the best place in and around Piccadilly. Tucked away form Piccadilly itself just a hop, skip and a jump from Regent Street. I worry about promoting this place too much because I and my wife might not be able to get in. And you can even buy excellent fresh fish to take home. Nothing more to say!
Great food and service. Really enjoyed the evening will return again. Highly recommended. However would like an improvement around the cleanliness of the men’s toilets.
3pm on a Friday isn't a typical time to eat but the staff at Fishworks were excellent. My partner and I had the 3 tier tasting feast and it was all perfectly cooked.
Excellent service and delicious food. The staff went out of their way to help us. Highly recommended.
a lovely place with tasty food, my wife and her friend devoured the platter and my cod was perfectly cooked.
