3pm on a Friday isn't a typical time to eat but the staff at Fishworks were excellent. My partner and I had the 3 tier tasting feast and it was all perfectly cooked.
Lovely environment, very attentive service with no sense of rush. Food was enjoyable and plentiful.
Love this place, found it by chance last year. Have been back a few times, shame its not closer to me.
Food is always fantastic. Catch of the day, is just that, fresh, it's so nice to be able to speak to the fishmonger and discuss the fish, getting information for you to make an informed choice.
Deserts are nice, always a good selection to choose from.
I highly recommend Fishworks.
Lovely food in a great setting and greeted by lovely people. Some of the service great - some less so. Forgot the side dish we ordered but we didn’t need it so not a problem. Waitresses seemed to slam the food on the table and we had to rearrange the table around them - not how it’s meant to be.
Qui si mangia il pesce fresco ottimo! Qualità prezzo ottimo. Grazie ragazzi stasera ho mangiato benissimo 👍
Great Food. It’s a pitty that the music destroyed our experience
One of the best seafood restaurants in London - try the scallops! Very tasty and I love the whole oven roasted sea bass .
Beautifully cooked, well presented fish! So impressed with lunch I went back for dinner.
Lovely busy vibe about the restaurant. Not noise but a nice buzz. The staff are efficient and polite . The food was good - my colleagues loved the Tuna .
The fish is always good but the vegetables are rubbish how difficult is it to cook chips or fries. Even McDonalds can manage that perfectly every time so why do fish works offer soggy greasy bits of potato at silly prices and pretend that they are chips. They don't offer fries. Don't think that new potatoes are a viable option undercooked or reheated they are even worse and don't even think about a green veg. Try Wrights Oyster bar in Soho to Mark Hix same price but better.
Service was very slow to start. My turbot meal was lovely and good portion of side of veg. My husband had lobster and steak. poor value - very bad piece of steak with grizzle and asked for mustard to which they had none. Lobster was fine. Small portion of ok chips. On the whole I’d return but my husband wouldn’t. Also a cocktail appeared on our bill which we didn’t have. It was removed when my husband pointed this out and the waiter apologised and said it was from the people who’d sat at the table before us! So, do check your bill!
I absolutely loved it!!!! and my friend felt the same. Food was excellent - Fish Soup just fabulous could have had 2 bowls. The service by my Cuban Waiter was brilliant he was outstanding from assisting with wine choices right through to dessert. Will definitely be returning for the same dishes and again and again to try other dishes. The Seabass was cooked to perfection.
We were very disappointed with our visit to Fishworks. It is our favourite restaurant in London and we always go there when we visit London. However we arrived to find that they had no crab or seafood so the Saefood Platter which we usually order was not available. Also it was not very busy in the restaurant but we had to wait 45 minutes before we had any food. The food was as good as usual though, even though we couldn't have our favourite. Probably being a Sunday they were waiting for a delivery!
great food and service from a friendly waiter. estaurant is in a good buzzy location with a good choice of menu options
Love Fishworks, but hate garlic and so disappointed that they have chosen to put garlic in the mushy peas that go with ale battered cod and chips - we have been coming for years and never had a problem like this before - it spoilt my meal, but the staff were so lovely about it. They said next time I go to call up and they’ll do me peas without garlic. But why is everyone putting garlic in everything - not everyone likes it!
One of our favourites. Almost regulars!
Great food and very pleasant staff
Service was excellent we were shown to our table be z very polite Host Waiter came to our table within a couple of minutes I ordered the lobster thermador my wife ordered the filleted sea break both dishes were excellent.
All the staff have us an outstanding experience we shall be returning next time we are in London.
Fishworks is an oasis of tranquility in such a busy part of London. The food is always excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful . It is a restaurant I have visited frequently and have recommended to friends and family.
changed but not for the better portion of bream was like half of the fillet
will not be back in a hurry
The food was superb, and the waiting staff extremely friendly, knowledgable and helpful. The only downside on our visit was the rather long time between sitting down at the table and the food starting to arrive (a little over three quarters of an hour). Mind you, it was worth waiting for!
A friend and I had the lunch time menu and it was excellent! I had the whitebait and battered cod and the quality and taste was excellent. You could tell the cod was especially fresh. Portions were good and the service prompt and inobtrusive. Great place to have lunch and I would recommend it to anyone.
Excellent food, service seemed a little laboured but over all a lovely experience
Excellent food and discreet service. Nice quiet place for a chat over lunch. Ok atmosphere. Good location.
Once again, excellent quality fish. Enjoyed every aspect of the meal from the bread onwards!
Late lunch. Restaurant pretty full when we arrived so glad we had booked. Tables a bit too close together and ours was on main route from kitchen so lots of staff coming and going. Food really good. Great fish, broccoli pushed the boundaries of al dente and we had to remind staff we’d ordered potatoes. Meal very tasty in terms of the fish itself.
Another lovely meal chez FishWorks - exceptional service yesterday from Portuguese waiter. Sea Bass was very tasty...although would say perhaps a minute less on the cooking it would have been even better.
Good food freshly cooked, excellent service. Close to theatres so a good place to eat before or after.
Bad service, steak was awful. Rare and bad cut of meat.
Great food, great service and perfect for date night
Lovely food and service as ever, but disappointed they would not accept the Regent Street VIP discount card - they said it’s not accepted on Fridays and Saturdays, yet I’ve used it before on Fridays and it doesn’t say on the terms and conditions 😢
The selection available was good and the food tasted great. Good service and lovely venue.
We went for lunch on a Wednesday, restaurant was quiet but seemed difficult to get attention from staff. Had to asked to see the lunch time menu, to which the waiter seemed confused with what I was talking about. Had to point at the broad on the wall which displayed offer with lunch time promo. We decided to order from the main menu, we ordered the small mussels which was a little under cooked. Overall service was slow, food was tasteless. I can’t even say the experience was standard, below standard!! Would not go again.
We ate at Swallow street having done a search of fish restaurants in London. We love seafood and were not disappointed. We will be definitely be back. Thanks to all the staff.
We had the fish platter for two and it was delicious! The espresso panna cotta is also a must try.
Will definitely go again
Excellent seafood. My fav seafood restaurant in London. Fish is always fresh and very well prepapred.
Food was fresh and properly cooked. Service spot on.
The food was absolutely brilliant. The mackerel was the best I'd ever eaten and our group also enjoyed the fish soup, the whitebait and the tuna. Terrific value. I can't wait to return.
The food and service were amazing! We will definitely be back!
I enjoyed a very good meal here. However, the service staff and particularly the woman meeting and greeting was very poor. That is a shame. I also got the impression that the kitchen was unable to cope with the number of orders that were being put to them. My fish arrived seven minutes before my vegetables...by which time I had consumed the fish. Apologies were showered at me, but nothing was done. Nothing could be done. The fish had been eaten.
I was due to meet a good friend for supper. I arrived twenty minutes before she and was shown to my most pleasant table. When she arrived she was assured that no such table (in my name) had been booked and she became confused. I was sitting there all the time, of course. Luckily I saw her being told I was not here, she was about to leave, and I fortunately rescued her.
This is no way to greet a guest. When I questioned the young woman on the reception computer, told her I was indeed here, and asked her to look once again, she found me. Abject incompetence but a sub-standard member of staff. How fortunate she doesn't work at my restaurant.
The food though was good. Not excellent, but above average and I would return, only next time alone for I could not risk having another of my guests told there wasn't a table booked in my name.
Good experience & food.
