Never disappoints, very friendly staff and great food. Nothing too much trouble.
Three of us went for a very late lunch on Sunday after visiting the Royal Academy. I have visited FishWorks in Marleybone but not this branch. We warmly welcome and and given a nice table by the window. The set menu at £18 for two courses for £22 for three courses was very good value and everything we had was delicious. We chose butternut squash soup and sardines for starters, we all had hake with delicious lemon rice as a main course but we did add some chips. The lemon tart was scrummy as was the affogato. Service was very pleasant and the atmosphere was good
Friendly welcoming as usual / this was my third visit but the experience was less than satisfactory.
My starter came long after my friends, the chips and spinach for our mains was cold so we had to send it back and wait ages for replacement meanwhile our fish was getting cold. The ginger and toffee pudding tasted more of lemon.
Such a shame:(
Nothing really bad to say about the place.. soup strong and salty, scallops had breadcrumbs which swamped them a bit.
Fish slightly overcooked, the green veg had burnt almonds in it which was pointed out to the waitress, but not apologised for or taken off the bill.
Had better for less if I'm being honest.
Heard good reviews but my experience was not so good. The food was poor and ambience lacking, however this was on a sunday so was quiet. I was disappointed with the food. I would not plan to return but I know people who have been and had a better experience.
Consistently very good. All food is great and the service is just right.
Short notice decision but a good choice. Mixed (fish of course) grill was substantial and perfectly cooked. Service was discrete and maitre d let us talk for much longer than we should’ve been allowed to when it was that busy. Definitely going back.
A real favourite that never disappoints. Great fresh fish, brilliant service and atmosphere.
Had a stunning lunch , everything was perfect , can’t wait to revisit !
Lovely place for a weekday dinner date with good deals for set menu.
The food was truly tasty and the service was very good too.
We were looked after Frencesco and he made our evening very special.
We will come again!
Unfortunately the experience was not very positive and with it being both our initial visit and recommended to us our disappointment was even moreso.
The food was 'okay', nothing out of the ordinary for the restaurant as it is fish-centred. The Mussels and Scallops to start with were okay. The main courses of Sea bass and Mixed fish were ordinary in the extreme. All the side dishes were 'extra' and I had to prompt twice for table service to bring spoons for the side dishes!!!
The wine (for the price) was tasteless. All in all with service charge the meal came to £170 for 2 of us.
On leaving, the Attending waitress thrust our coats at us with with a perfunctory 'Thank You' that was as insincere and impersonal as crocodile tears.
All in all Fish 'does not' Work.
Excellent food, as always, freshly prepared and enticing. Lovely staff and great value, too. Plus an excellent location for theatre/cinema after.
Excellent quality fish, perfectly cooked. Our server was lovely - friendly and responsive.
This is a very pleasant restaurant and fairly priced, particularly as deals are often offered - in our case 30% of the a la carte food bill. The fish soup is reliable and was delicious. My wife had oysters to start, which were good but on the small side. To follow, she had a seafood linguine which she enjoyed very much. I chose lobster Thermidor which, unfortunately, was very disappointing. The lobster itself was overcooked and chewy and without flavour; the Thermidor sauce was very cheese heavy and unsubtle. Lobster is tricky to get right but a specialist fish restaurant should not make mistakes like this, particularly for an expensive item. We enjoy Fishworks. It is reliable and and we go there reasonably frequently. However, I shall not be having their lobster again.
I took my Girlfriend to Fishworks on a Date during our stay in London. As we came in we were welcomed by very friendly staff and a very comfortable atmosphere. The choice of food on the Set Menu is on spot for fish-lovers and those who are ought to become one. Furthermore the accompanying Wine List and the restaurant’s recommendations match the menu as you could wish it to be. The harmonic atmosphere among the restaurant staff adds a very welcoming touch to one‘s stay at the restaurant.
In all I can recommend the restaurant to anyone who is looking for an affordable, delicious and comforting meal to anyone who is looking for anything from a date to a celebration in the center of London.
Lovely fish, tasted very fresh, and well cooked. Good service. All in a great central location.
My partner and I found this restaurant last minute for our NYE dinner.
Food was fresh and tasty, atmosphere very nice and relaxed and very friendly and attentive staff.
A particular thanks goes to Dalia (hope the spelling is right) who gave the extra touch to our wonderful night!
Great food lovely atmosphere, would return and recommend
Food was tasty and delicious. Service was very friendly and attentive.
Had a great time. Oysters and Dover Sole were all lovely. We had a very friendly waitress ( blond hair Australian I think)
Been before so knew what to expect.
The choice of Oysters was limited to tow and one variety was very salty and not that well prepared.
The grilled medley of fish was good and mixed salad and fries also.
Wine suggested for main was new wine for us and excellent vermentino?
Pudding orange cheescake was staggeringly good.
A good night out, not for every day dining?
been here a couple of times and always good recommend this restaurant if you like fish
I paid £35 for a whole Lobster and it was absolutely tiny. Must have got no more than 7 mouthfuls! Never buy lobster from here. The scallops were bland and we had to salt nearly all our food. Shame. We spent £125 for two and regretted it!
The fish platter for 2 was delicious and at an amazing value. Will return!
Fresh and delicious, great place to enjoy seafood in the city.
Lovely meal-great quality food, very good wine, fantastic and friendly service. Would certainly recommend.
Very good value, friendly staff, great menu choices, everything we had was good, including excellent ice cream!
Good quality and good value. The lunch menu is particularly good. The service was excellent
We were very pleased with our meal. Delicious fresh fish. We were delighted that the restaurant has a lovely welcoming atmosphere but is not noisy so that we were able to chat with our friends.
Staff very helpful and the service was excellent. Thoroughly recommend!
Excellent as always - a firm favourite for supper with friends
Over all excellent Both food and wine delucious and good location
On a very wet Saturday afternoon, Fishworks was buzzing. Great atmosphere, lovely fresh fish and professional staff. What else could you want?
A regular venue for all occasions. If you like fish and a place to enjoy company, this is it. Don't tell too many people or I won't be able to book a table.
Good fresh fish well cooked and presented. The atmosphere had a good lively feel without being too loud. Look forward to the next time!
Excellent fresh fish on offer from their own counter. Very well cooked too!
Good food. Good value. Good locaton. Highly recommended.
Fantastic food and the best service and waitress for a long time. I would highly recommend.
There on a very busy Saturday night and sat at the counter. Once I got a waiters attention and ordered, the food arrived quickly and was delicious. I never did get the second glass of wine I ordered. Would like to go back when it isn’t so busy.
Seafood and wines : perfect
Thank you Daniella, was a great dinner !
Four of us had lunch on a Saturday and even though the place was busy the service was still very good and friendly. The prawn cocktail and the hake were very good. Will always go back to this place
