Service needs improving. It’s only small but when you order some bread because you are not having starters, I do expect it to come fairly promptly. When reminding the waitress after a 20 min wait, I would expect it to come, but still nothing! They were happily chatting amongst themselves. Never received the bread. Mains came out. Food was really tasty but could have been hotter. I was going to ask for some extra (hot) gravy but had no faith in it arriving at the table so I didn’t bother. Desserts were good too. Real shame because it could have been great but just average this time.

Best pork belly I’ve ever had. Lovely food. Great ambience. Perfect for a romantic date night. Staff went above and beyond. Stayed in one of the rooms-Ortega which was absolutely stunning. Breakfast was delicious. Will definitely be returning.

The Five Bells is a favourite restaurant mostly because it’s so beautiful. I wanted my very artistic friend to see it. On this of many visits I was sad that the staff did not offer a smile on any occasion or at any point! It was slowish and with two soft drinks and two mains and one coffee a bill of £52+ was a lot! For the first time I’m not recommending it to a friend boo hoo!

A lovely pub with really attentive staff. I only wish we lived closer but we are 90 mins drive away (we dined as we were staying in on of the pubs rooms, which was also really nice). Really good selection of beers, and wine with lots produced locally. Great good with a real emphasis on local produce. Had such a lovely night. We will definitely be back

Best burgers we have had in a long time time. Will be back for sure. Service attentive without being intrusive. Music loud enough to be heard & enjoyed but not so loud you couldn’t have a conversation.

This is such a cosy place to go on a wet Autumn day. It just glows. The roasts were delicious and cooked to perfection. Vegetables slightly disappointing - cabbage and carrots but otherwise the meal was lovely.

Roast topside of beef was tough and sinewy. My wife left most of hers on the plate. Everything else was very good. This small issue was dealt very well by managing staff by not charging us for that part of the 3 course meal.

Honestly such a lovely pub, had friends over from Australia and they loved the ambiance, decor, smell of the wood on the fire and service was smashing. Food was hot and very tasty, I had the Cauliflower tempura burger and chips (vegan) and a delicious ginger sponge pudding. Very good value and not pestered or rushed! Congratulations on delivering a great service, great beers and all in all a great night out!

Lovely dinner, overnight stay and breakfast. Brabourne Vineyard is also walking distance so well worth booking in advance for wine tasting and a tour.

Went for the Wednesday Steak night. We love this place both in the Summer where it is ideal to sit outside on a warm evening, or in the winter for it's warmth and ambience. The food was lovely, fair value and service was excellent.

Great little restaurant with a good choice on the menu. The Five Bells have 'themed' nights during the week - we were there for the fish & burger nights and the food was very good. They have a good wine list and plenty of draft beers/lagers - I was thinking of what to call the decoration, and have resulted to shabby chic, with a touch of rustic with open wood fires. The tables are not too close together and the noise levels are acceptable. The only criticism I would have is its a pub with a restaurant and there were only 4 tables without cutlery, which would suggest that if you're not eating and only want a drink, there is nowhere really to sit - this isn't probably the case, but it leads you to think this - maybe the Manager should leave a few more table free. We were there on a night there was a singer - the musicians took the only 4 free tables so most people just having a drink, stood up by the bar/door - this was that all the other tables were taken by diners.

This place as always is amazing. There’s a core group of staff who are amazing service wise. One or two who have been there front of house who are not and are not friendly and miss the full on welcoming and kind talents of their colleagues. Wonderful place I’m proud to call my local and bring friends and family to over the years.

The food was OK - but as an example, the burger was a bit simple considering the price - I think for £18.50 there should at least be some relishes (NOT Ketchup) and a bit of salad provided. My wife had the crispy plaice - which was apparently a little dry as a dish. The service was pretty slow due to the wedding reception - I don't think you should really have taken so many meal bookings under the circumstances.

The 5 Bells pub is lovely as is the staff. It is very expensive for being a pub and we would not eat very often I don't like 10% added to the bill.
