Great spur of the moment thing on a Wednesday evening. Delicious food, great service. The trout salad was fantastic.

Wonderful meal again. It’s a 70 minute trip for us to go here but we’ve been twice and will come again. Warm and friendly service, great food and the pub has loads of charm. Worth the trip and a great meal out.

Pub itself beautiful and no issues with staff however, the food did not live up to expectations. The ploughman's included a pork pie so was expecting a lovely slice of home made pork pie but received a tiny supermarket style "snack" size, i.e. one mouthful pie. Had one wedge of cheese, a thimble full of coleslaw, couple of lettuce leaves (literally), pickle and 2 prices of bread. The Chicken Kyiv was tasty but chewy with cold mash and a sprinkle of watercress and the pizza turned up minus one of the toppings but was still charged. Being typically British and not wanting to make a fuss we accepted it for what is was and paid inclusive of service charge as we did not wish for the staff to be affected. Was prepared to pay the rather high prices but expected higher quality in return

The Five Bells is a great place and is well worth it. The only downside is that at the end of dinner service there is a tendency to rush people e.g. bringing out courses before the previous is finished. There is not a need for this really.

I had a lovely meal at The Five Bells last night. It’s a regular, halfway meeting point with a friend. It’s a lovely venue, great setting, friendly staff, excellent service.

Food was fantastic, the service was less than attentive ….we had to ask to order main, get more drinks, ask to order dessert and get our bill….wouldnt have minded too much but there were very people in there !!

We went on a Monday evening, which was relatively quiet, but had a really nice ambience as always. As always, the food was excellent and on this particular occasion we found the service to be exceptional. We haven't been for a while, so hopefully that's the norm, but all the staff really were so chatty, friendly and welcoming and made a much appreciated fuss of our little old dog, it really did add to the enjoyment of the evening.
