Lovely food, lovely helpful staff. Even on a Monday evening it was buzzy enough.
Food was tasty, though it is more expensive than the last time I was there.
Not much variety for children on the menu though.
Highly recommend the buns and the brisket!
Crap bar seating next to kitchen spoilt an otherwise fab evening. Will phone ahead next time. Personally prefer Covent Garden branch.
Not sure why but we felt that the food was quite a lot better at the Covent Garden location.
That said, the staff were absolutely lovely, the service was excellent, and we had a very nice time.
Way too much food quantity wise and not so memorable. Price ok, but not really worth the detour.
We were rushed throughout our meal. Other than that, goood!
Great place and vibe ! Going back to it soon. Friday evening perfect for catch with friends or even for a date night.
Great food and good value with the pre-theatre menu. Good services overall. However, they would need more waiting staff who know about sake.
Really lovely meal, worth checking if you’ll be sitting at the bar if you’d prefer a table when you book as we weren’t expecting bar seats. Good atmosphere and food was delicious!
The food was amazing and the service was really good but the music was so loud and real club-vibes, so not good for chatting
Amazing food and service. Very nice place. A little bit overpriced but overall good experience.
Excellent food and excellent service, highly recommend, will definitely be back
Amazing food and vibe! The staff is very nice and supportive, quick to reply to any inquiries. Food was delivered quickly even though the venue was rather busy. And we had our proposal here, so it's super special to us right now. Totally recommend it!
Flawless food and service. A bit pricey but worth it nonetheless!
The food was good. The ambience, was ok but the loud music was not necessary and a little off putting. The service was very slow and erratic. That said, when they did attend to our table they were very friendly and helpful.
Overall though we felt that the loud music and slow service lets this place down.
Delicious bao buns
Great food and service. Buzzing atmosphere.
been there a few times and never tire of it! Lovely food and great pisco sour table button!
A button on the table said "push for pisco sour" but the waitress didn't explain to us how this worked. So we pushed the button, it lit up.. then turned off. When no one came to our table after 5 minutes to ask if we wanted a drink, we pressed it again a few times, then assumed it wasn't working. The waitress came over 10 minutes after we had sat down to ask what we wanted to drink at which point we told her the button wasn't working and we'd like two pisco sours. Still not explaining how the button worked the waitress went to place the order (we assume). A while later a barman came and asked if we had ordered pisco sours via the button. We said yes but assumed it wasn't working because nothing had happened and we had since ordered it through one of his colleagues. It took another 15 minutes and the arrival of the first couple dishes before someone else came over with our pisco sours. A waitress came over with one of our dishes and we asked if we could order some wine. She said she would get one of her colleagues to come over to take the order. A further 10 minutes passed without anyone coming over. Eventually the same girl came back and took our order - why she was able to take it now but not before we had no idea. Eventually we had the drinks we wanted. The first three dishes were good but After these dishes they forgot about us because we waited 20 minutes before anyone noticed we were still waiting. Finally another member of staff (we had now been seen by 6 different staff members: clearly disorganised), asked if we wanted to order anything else to which we replied that we were still waiting for 3 dishes! He checked, apologised and our food came out pretty quickly. My partner is a chef and we both determined the salmon ceviche to be off and did not finish it. Luckily this was taken off the bill at the end however no further discount was offered despite the chaotic and delayed service experienced. Both of us work in hospitality so are particularly disappointed.
As usual food is fantastic. Service was a little slow for a Monday night. They had also run out of wood chips so couldn't make a Smokey Old fashioned which is our favourite. Also where we sat was quite dark but apart from that a lovely Anniversary meal.
Dinner was very good!
Great food, good looking venue, cocktails are a must try
Very nice fusion food, well presented and tasty even though the sound volume is very high and make chatting a bit more . challenging.
Food was great - service wasn’t though
We enjoyed our meal. The miso aubergine in buns was wonderful. The sushi offer (or is it maki?) is good value for money but two people could easily share, so I'd recommend that.
Fantastic dinner here.....everything was delicious & all the staff were brilliant. Will definitely go back!
Served raw chicken.
Great place to have a blowout
Over complicated system of ordering ‘flesh’ and buns. You can only order buns in multiples of 4 for no good reason.
Japanese chicken v nice. Salmon teriyaki dry and unappetising.
Food too greasy
Service -trying to hard and they were always behind us which didn’t letbus relax
Really good food, attentive staff, brilliant atmosphere! I want a push for pisco sours button in my house!
Fantastic food, and the Pisco Sour button was an interesting experience!
Had to request water a couple of times, but all other points of service were very good
The food was nice but the service was a miss, unfortunately. Waiter took a very long time to take our orders and seemed to be preoccupied with a larger group; he didn't refill our wine at all and recommended that we order far too much food. Don't like being ignored or to have food waste but the food we did eat was yummy as always.
Amazing food and really good personalised service!
We’ve been to the Covent Garden restaurant many times and thought we’d try a different restaurant.
The service at Oxford Circus is very poor by comparison. After being seated we waited a long time to give our drinks order (after other guests who arrived after us) and were given one food menu for two guests. Our food arrived before our drinks and I had to remind our waiter we were still waiting for our drinks several times. When our drinks order arrived I had to again ask (3rd time) for water. Despite requesting our sushi order as a starter, all of our order arrived together. We didn’t stay for smoores which is a shame as it’s our favourite dessert!
We were seated at a corner table which may have contributed to us being ‘forgotten’. However, this really isn’t an acceptable excuse for such a high end restaurant.
I’ve since read TripAdvisor reviews and poor service is a common complaint. The management really need to look into this poor sister restaurant may damage the reputation of the company.
Never fails to deliver and impress. Both here and Severn dials are a must do experience.
100% recommend the bottomless brunch, one of the best I’ve been to in London.
It was a good experience. Food was good but on the saucier side. A lot of overpowering flavours
Really enjoyed the food and the service was fantastic. I asked the waitress for recommendations on both the food and the Sake I wanted to accompany with and everything was great. The chicken wings were HUGE and had a great heat to them which for me could have been dialed up a notch but the sweetness of the sauce keeps that down. All the small plates offered unique flavours before the main event the Buns (or Bao) stole the show. The Japanese fried chicken (JFC) was incredible and the sauce to accompany equally as good. The smoked miso chilli brisket lack abit as for me it was just your normal smoked meat but was still a pleasant taste I would just like to see it be more unique to the restaurant ambiance and style. The whole experience was from my perspective excellent with the only slight concern being the final price as I thought it was slightly too high compared to other London places I visit as I do live in the city, this could be because I don't usually drink so much alcohol but even with that it was top end. This didn't leave a sour taste in the mouth or stop me recommending to others but I would advice to be precise about what they order.
