Very nice fusion food, well presented and tasty even though the sound volume is very high and make chatting a bit more . challenging.
Food was great - service wasn’t though
We enjoyed our meal. The miso aubergine in buns was wonderful. The sushi offer (or is it maki?) is good value for money but two people could easily share, so I'd recommend that.
Fantastic dinner here.....everything was delicious & all the staff were brilliant. Will definitely go back!
Served raw chicken.
Great place to have a blowout
Over complicated system of ordering ‘flesh’ and buns. You can only order buns in multiples of 4 for no good reason.
Japanese chicken v nice. Salmon teriyaki dry and unappetising.
Food too greasy
Service -trying to hard and they were always behind us which didn’t letbus relax
Really good food, attentive staff, brilliant atmosphere! I want a push for pisco sours button in my house!
Fantastic food, and the Pisco Sour button was an interesting experience!
Had to request water a couple of times, but all other points of service were very good
The food was nice but the service was a miss, unfortunately. Waiter took a very long time to take our orders and seemed to be preoccupied with a larger group; he didn't refill our wine at all and recommended that we order far too much food. Don't like being ignored or to have food waste but the food we did eat was yummy as always.
Amazing food and really good personalised service!
We’ve been to the Covent Garden restaurant many times and thought we’d try a different restaurant.
The service at Oxford Circus is very poor by comparison. After being seated we waited a long time to give our drinks order (after other guests who arrived after us) and were given one food menu for two guests. Our food arrived before our drinks and I had to remind our waiter we were still waiting for our drinks several times. When our drinks order arrived I had to again ask (3rd time) for water. Despite requesting our sushi order as a starter, all of our order arrived together. We didn’t stay for smoores which is a shame as it’s our favourite dessert!
We were seated at a corner table which may have contributed to us being ‘forgotten’. However, this really isn’t an acceptable excuse for such a high end restaurant.
I’ve since read TripAdvisor reviews and poor service is a common complaint. The management really need to look into this poor sister restaurant may damage the reputation of the company.
Never fails to deliver and impress. Both here and Severn dials are a must do experience.
100% recommend the bottomless brunch, one of the best I’ve been to in London.
It was a good experience. Food was good but on the saucier side. A lot of overpowering flavours
Really enjoyed the food and the service was fantastic. I asked the waitress for recommendations on both the food and the Sake I wanted to accompany with and everything was great. The chicken wings were HUGE and had a great heat to them which for me could have been dialed up a notch but the sweetness of the sauce keeps that down. All the small plates offered unique flavours before the main event the Buns (or Bao) stole the show. The Japanese fried chicken (JFC) was incredible and the sauce to accompany equally as good. The smoked miso chilli brisket lack abit as for me it was just your normal smoked meat but was still a pleasant taste I would just like to see it be more unique to the restaurant ambiance and style. The whole experience was from my perspective excellent with the only slight concern being the final price as I thought it was slightly too high compared to other London places I visit as I do live in the city, this could be because I don't usually drink so much alcohol but even with that it was top end. This didn't leave a sour taste in the mouth or stop me recommending to others but I would advice to be precise about what they order.
amazing food. funky place. great vibe.fantastic service! The guy refilling the water was so attentive and funny too!!
Amazing food, great service, fun atmosphere!!
We chose a quiet bank holiday weekend to visit and so the ambience was slightly quieter than normal but the service was exceptionally attentive and food was amazing as always!
Bubbly and Hip restaurant. Unusual flavours and textures.
The pisco sour was great, the beef rice stone pot was fantastic
Service was great!
Promising start .....but with a salty finish.
We went for the Sunday brunch and we were totally satisfied with the meal.
The place was very quiet (we went for an early one, so that might be the reason) and we ordered the salmon teryiaki, the japanese chicken and the BBQ beef ribs.
Plenty of food to eat and to share, but had to order an extra portion of buns as two each were not enough if you want to eat all the meat with the buns.
For dessert we went for the Nutella croissant (not really a croissant), but it was a massive portion and really nice. Not a fan of the ice cream with it, but that is down to personal taste.
Overall I will totally recommend the restaurant and I will definitely go back again!
Good service. Nice cocktail menu and well cooked food. Brunch menu has some interesting options.
Still my favourite place to eat in London but somehow there was a lack of polish this evening. First lot of chips and dips wasn't great (stale chips) and they failed to respond to the Pisco button for 10 minutes and multiple presses. Tolerable but the excuse that they were busy didn't really cut it as it would have only taken a second to come and say so. Feeling ignored is the worst.
Food is outstanding. It is pricy but it is worth it. They have an express lunch menu but I don't think you actually save that much money from the normal prices. Cocktails are also very very good. Staff are very nice and friendly but have found service to be slow every time I have been. I was planning on ordering dessert but no one came around for ages so we just got the bill. Restaurant is very very loud when it gets busy. I felt like I had to shout to my partner to have a conversation. Overall though I will be back as the food it too good.
Fabulous food! Must get the piglet belly and the pork ribs!
Awesome! Food was great with generous portions, particularly liked the ribs with yellow chilli sauce - outstanding! As a fan of Bone Daddies, Flesh and Buns was no disappointment. Just don't order too much...
Flesh & Buns was awesome! The food was fabulous as were the service. Our waiter was very helpful with helping the kids what they wanted. You won’t regret eating in this place.
Foods was amazing, good service. Will definitely recommend it.
We were a group of five. It was our first time and we went with the tasting menu. One of oddities about choosing the tasting menu the whole table has to and requires a minimum of two. You kinda get a raw deal if your group happens to have odd number of people. It works better if you have even numbers in the group.
Overall experience would rate it a 4. Our waiter unfortunately was rude. However all the other staff (hostess, assistant waiters were a pleasure to deal with). The sushi and ceviche were OK. The sea bass, gnocchi, crispy duck were brilliant. The brisket was good.
Really yummy food. Good service.
Lovely evening, with great food and service. Our waitress was super lovely, friendly and helpful. Advised us of the Pre-Theatre menu which we incidentally ordered all of our food from, meaning we got it for a discounted rate.
Cocktails are delicious and food is very tasty!
Nice restaurant, lovely food but awful service. Our waiter was just dreadful. Inattentive, uninterested and unprofessional.
Fortunately the food is great and it’s a really nice restaurant just bad luck with our waiter.
First time here and will definitely return as food was great!
Food was exceptional! We had the piglet belly and rabbit katsu from the 'flesh and bun' section of the menu, and the smoker sharing platter, which we shared between three, along with 4 bao buns each. This was the perfect amount of food for three people, we were well and truly stuffed by the end of our meal. The bao buns were perfectly light and fluffy, and the fillings were delicious, the beef tongue and cheek from the smoking platter were a highlight, as well as the piglet belly. It would have been good to have had a few more salady bits to fill the baos with, we got a small bowl of pickled carrot and onion, which wasn't really enough for all three of us to share. The sauces were really tasty. The only criticism of the meal was the cocktails we ordered post-meal which were really not great, we had an Okinawa Fizz and a coffee based cocktail (can't remember the name) which were really weak and not tasty at all. That being said, the experience was really great, we will definitely be back!
My experience in flesh and buns is always 10/10 and the service and the food is absolutely amazing! I wish I remembered the name of the lady we had serve me and my girlfriend but she truly was lovely. She provided us with the tastiest recommendations for dessert as well as starters. Not to mention the Pico Sour button which is at your table, you press it and you a waiter comes to your table and makes it there and then. Before 19:00 they are 2 for 1. Honestly.. need I say more?
The sushi was excellent, and much better than what you can find at Nobu and Sake no Hana. The shrimp was exquisite as well.
Very nice food and concept, service could have been better was slightly confused and rushed
