Nestled in the picturesque village of Lowonsford, on the banks of the Stratford Canal, between winding country roads that used to be part of the Forest of Arden, The Fleur De Lys is the very best kind of country pub. Packed full of quaint charm and quirky corners beneath its C16th wooden beams, The Fleur is a cosy haven in the winter and an extensive paradise in the summer. There are so many tiny wonders packed into this historic building that you will always find something new to fall in love with when you visit. Our garden boasts an acre of land to run riot on and a low level wooden children’s playground, alongside over 30 tables and benches. We’re ideally situated for walkers and ramblers who wish to explore the canal towpath or a variety of local walks. If you’re intending on zooming through this part of Warwickshire on a bicycle, The Fleur makes an excellent intermediary watering hole to fortify you for the ride ahead.

My wife and I both chose the gammon which is normally exceptionally good but on this occasion my wife had to send hers back as she couldn’t cut through it, I realise with gammon it can be unknown quantity, it was taken off the bill so we couldn’t complain.

We’ve been here many times and are usually very happy with our experience. This time was a disappointment. We had a long wait upon arrival just to be shown our table. We were then advised there would be a long wait before our meals arrived. When ordering we were informed one of the ingredients of our chosen meal was unavailable. When the meals finally arrived my tuna was undercooked. During the meal I went to the bar to order and pay for two drinks that never arrived. I had to return to the bar and wait until finally I was handed the two drinks by which time my meal was cold. By that time everyone had finished their meal so the proposed accompanying drinks hadn’t got much point. Staff were polite but seemed completely lost and disorganized

The pies spot on. However daughter ordered a children’s burger and it was …. Well - pretty poor - over cooked and she ended up leaving it and making a point of showing us. As I was entertaining family from France it wasn’t the time to flag up. What was a bit upsetting was being charged for pints when we had clearly been in rounds for half pints as we were exploring the beers on offer. This happened for 3 of the rounds we were in .

There are lovely choices on the menu, especially my favourite is the Tuna with Nicoise salad. My husband favourite are the pies which are made on site and they are really scrumptious. The staff were welcoming and polite. We have since returned with friends who were impressed with the quality food that was served.

Food and service did not seem to be as good as on previous visits. Gents toilet needs radical updating including facilities for disabled users.

main course was excellant, avoid the sticky toffee pudding....no dates or sultanas to be seen and burnt around the edges shame because it spoilt the overall lunch.

Was really looking forward to a nice meal… Starter was for sharing was nachos with pulled pork and cheese was really good and can recommend.. the lasagna on the other hand was dry betchamel sauce no tomato and not much meat with hard cheese… So no not very good.. the other meal we had was stroganoff, with paprika and cream , but unfortunately not much paprika involved.. did inform the waiter who spoke to the manager who halted the price of the so called lasagna…
