Great meal every time! A must try. Excellent food, service and fun ambience.
The service was slow, the food was good, you smelled the kitchen - it needs better venting. The bar drinks did not come together and took forever.
My friends and I had a nice time. I had been before and wanted to take them to try it. The food and drinks are delicious!
The only thing I'd mention is that the chef/kitchen should be more aware of every ingredient that's in the menu items. One of my friends is very allergic to nuts. One of the apps we ordered contained nuts in the sauce/dressing. Luckily he caught it in time. The waitress and principal owner were both very nice and apologetic!
Unfortunately we came on a night when the restaurant was dramatically understaffed. The manager did his best to be waiter, busser, host, etc... Looking past that, the restaurant has a lively vibe and the decor is fun and casual. Broad menu including dumplings, burgers, fish, salads and sandwiches. Excellent desserts.
We love going to flinders. The service is always great and the food is delicious. They have a great happy hour too!
Australian lamb steam buns, chicken and lemongrass dumplings, kangaroo burger, tacos, barramundi with jasmine rice, chicken sandwich, sausage rolls, meat, lamb, and chicken pies, pastas, desserts. Everything is amazing. A menu you won't find anywhere else in Stamford. If you haven't been, you are missing out on incredible food. Great wine list and fabulous cocktails.
The server forgot two orders- one for in dining and one to go at end of the evening. when the forgotten in dining order finally arrived the dish was prepared cold when the dish was supposed to prepared grilled. To have the final to go order be forgotten after the in dining debacle was very disappointing and we should have had a meal comped for the poor service.
Lamb meatballs = 8/10
Lamb steam buns = 10/10
Burrata = 8/10
Chicken lemongrass dumplings = 7/10
Service = 9/10
Overall, modern ambiance where you can be casual or be dressed up and still fit in. Jazz on Friday night was a nice bonus. Loved the emphasis on small plates/tapas-like menu. Everything was thoughtfully played and hot!
The food was delicious and our waiter Nick could not have been better. We had such an enjoyable meal and evening. We shall return !
New menu is amazing. Australian lamb steam buns, chicken dumplings, and sausage rolls are excellent. Lamb meatballs and grilled venison were outstanding. We had the sticky date pudding with vanilla ice cream. So good. Wine list excellent and great cocktail. Service always friendly and professional.
The food was delicious although the menu was rather small
There is a "team" aspect to the service. I felt like a family guest at a warm family's dinner party. The menu is eclectic.
Fun time, salmon overcooked, soup just ok and tacos just ok. Brussell sprouts were very good as well as burgers and fries!
Our first time
Food was great
Nick our server gave great suggestions
Did not rush us which was lovely
Definitely would go back
Early in the evening (6:00) they were playing loud and very crappy teen pop music. Made conversation difficult and detracted from the experience quite a bit. Otherwise the high end bar food was quite good and the service friendly and prompt.
Decided last minute to get together in Stamford with some family and friends on a Saturday night. We were a party of 7, which limited our options, but ultimately we decided on Flinders Lane. I really enjoyed the decor, as they have some street art/graffiti on the walls and most surfaces were white with elevated ceilings, which made the space feel larger than it actually is. We started at the bar, which has happy hour from 4-7 PM every day of the week (highly recommended!). I had a black walnut old fashioned and a seasonal beer for about $15 and my party sampled the chicken & lemongrass dumplings and shishito peppers, which were both good (the peppers could have been charred some more). For dinner, most of us opted for tacos of all varieties, which were a hit, and for $3 per taco, also a bargain. Overall, this is a solid, casual dining option in Downtown Stamford and I would gladly visit again!
Oysters from Canada were excellent. Chicken lemongrass dumplings and sausage rolls in puff pastry are always amazing. Tacos were fantastic. We had the buttermilk chicken, fish, beef, and chorizo tacos. Excellent wine list by bottle or glass. Dessert was sticky pudding with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. Love this place. The owner, Chris, cares for his customers and makes everyone feel special. Friendly and professional service.
The food at Flinders Lane was delicious! We went for Stamford Restaurant Week and were so glad we tried this restaurant. The watermelon and feta salad, the steak, and the date pudding were all fantastic, and with the prix fix dinner, the value was also great. We will definitely be back for another meal at Flinders Lane!
This was our first time dining here. The food was good as was everything else. However, I had a piece of hair in my food and the plate wasn't removed from my bill. Regardless of if my husband did say no problem I'll pay for it(He's dumb) as a professional, I wouskve most definitely removed it from the bill. I had hair in my food and was unedible. Other than that, pretty good.
Food was delicious, servers were friendly & helpful with drink/food questions.
We had the Stamford restaurant week and from the appetizer to the dessert was delicious. They also have great cocktails.
The food is outstanding. Everything was cooked to perfection. The dates desert was the best desert I had in awhile. However, the service is ridiculously slow. This is the second time we have visited and they always appear to be understaffed. I would say almost 45 minutes passed between the starters and the entree. Maybe 40 minutes between the desert and the entree. And, we ordered everything at one time to prevent the delay. So, in order for me to eat there I have to have time to kill, and I need to be ready to WAIT AND WAIT AND WAIT
Our 2nd time going to Flinders Lane. Food was a notch up to very good, but entrees took a very long time to come out. We will be back for a third try as my wife's chicken sandwich was stupendous!!
Excellent food. Great Thai beef salad.
Too many flies. Place is not cleaned adequately. Service was good.
It’s our go to restaurant in Stamford. Great drinks, great food and fantastic service. Some nights it can be slow when crowded but we always come back.
The food at Flinders Lane is always consistently great. Five of us shared the cheese board, dumplings, sausage rolls, tuna tartare, and scallops as appetizers. For mains we had thai beef salad, pesto pasta, pasta with lamb, chicken wings, and watermelon and feta salad with grilled shrimp. Desserts were pavlova, brownie with ice cream, and sticky toffee pudding. Everything was fabulous.
food execution was below expectations; hoped for a better australian experience. ingredients were not fresh and service not around.
I set up this reservation for my boss and new partners we needed to take to dinner. Flinders gave them a compact table where everyone could hear each other without having to shout uncomfortably. I'll definitely recommend using them in the future!
Fantastic experience. The food was delicious and inventive, and our server (Nick) did an amazing job of describing every dish and getting us excited to try new items. We will be back again soon. A++
Father’s Day lunch
The chicken was to die for and the service was excellent. Love the vibe and decor.
Food was well prepared. Service was attentive but not intruding.
Excellent food and service.
Great food, service, and experience. We will be back soon!
Friendly waiter and good food
Ok food. Hard to see why they think it’s Australian. Apart from a kangaroo burger there was nothing else memorably Aussie.
Great spot for lunch. Sat outside on picnic benches, great service. Must try merengue dessert!
Tasty food, friendly service, pleasant experience. Would recommend and return.
Devon was our server again on Saturday and her recommendations are always spot on. I had the Kangaroo Burger for the first time. It was delicious and cooked to perfection. Dumpling appetizer was excellent. We were attending the Stamford Symphony concert and Devon made sure we were able to enjoy our dinner and get out on time. Definitely will be returning.
