Floral by Lima is the younger sibling to its Michelin starred sister in Fitzrovia. An evolution rather than a duplication, the broader menu is adapted to the newly fashionable Covent Garden and in addition to the restaurant, brings with it a brand new food offering served in the Bajo Bar alongside some of “the best cocktails in London”.

Under the keen eye of Virgilio Martinez (Executive Chef and ranked #5 in the World 50 Best List and #1 in in Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants list) and Robert Ortiz, the same high standards apply and customers and critics alike have been equally lavish with praise. Amongst these we are pleased to have been awarded two AA Rosettes and a 5-Star review from Time Out.

We had ceviche (ok), asparagus salad (more artichoke than asparagus but ok) & empanada (eaten by a Child, probably ok). Saltadito beef, (ok) prawns (ok), rice (should be better...) & yuca (good). Chocolate mousse (very good) & maracuya mouse (ok). Although lemmonade appears in the menú it doesn't specify that is its from a bottle...& no fresh lemmonade is available.

Slightly tucked away location in the middle of Theatreland - clean, smart ambience, great pre-theatre menu which came quickly with help from knowledgeable and attentive staff; great introduction to Peruvian food!

Food was ok , but not as good as i was expecting. Some of the flavour combinations were slightly strange , we ordered a few sides that we thought would be savoury.but turned out to be sweet/savoury and and didnt really work ..corncakes and some rice that also had sweet banana fritters in it ...slightly odd .
Mains were better. Overall a bit disappointing though .

The food is very unusual and interesting. This was my second visit. I will definitely go again. My only criticism is that they bring one dish at a time and the wait between courses was too long especially when we wanted to eat dishes together. We ran out of time to have dessert and this was a shame.

Food, service and location were great!!!
Very good options for vegetarians which is quite rare to find in most restaurants. We felt completely in love with the place and their menu! It has already become one of our favourites from now on!!!

We dined on a Thursday evening at 6.30 p.m. The restaurant was full with a large party near us. The service was outstanding and the food excellent. The ambience was also amazing. We had a Pisco Sour in the Llama bar prior to our meal and the service was impeccable. Can't wait to go back.

The food was absolutely excellent but the portions were small - I am aware they are tapas sized and for sharing but one of the starters came and there was one beef empanda on the plate - we each had chosen one of the 4 starters to share between 4 of us - it seemed extremely meagre to just have one per portion. I am sure last time I came there were 3 per portion.
Can you just just serve a little more of everything so that one doesn't feel awkward about how it's being shared out? It would really make the whole experience much more relaxing and enjoyable. thanks

It was quiet as we were here for a pre-theatre meal. Food was great, service lovely. Could have perhaps been a little faster, but I’m nitpicking. Kasper, who looked after us, was lovely.

The overall experience was not that good. Initially I requested the person greeting us if we can have another table as it's too close to the door but she said that's the only one they have even though I saw some couples after us going inside and getting the tables. I was quite disappointed with the presentation of the food as well and felt the octopus in our mains was overcooked. All and all the dining experience could be better.

The manager (?) who took us to a table was very rude, treating us as if he was doing us a favour. When we asked him for a pre-theatre menu, he said that there was no pre-theatre menu on Sunday and that it was on the website. It states in their site that lunch menu is available only on weekdays, though no specific reference to the pre-theatre. His manner was so unpleasant we wanted to leave the restaurant immediately if it were not for the booking. To be fair other waiters were more polite, though they never gave us serviette. The quality of the dish was as good as I remember from previous visit a few years ago but we found most dishes pricey given the size.

We have been here quite a few times. This time for Mother’s Day. - food was ver good! Best we had here. And generous size plates. The service was bad, he kept forgetting stuff, didn’t come back to us when we had a question, and it wasn’t even busy. He also didn’t know about an ingredient we asked about. Something he should have known.

Really enjoyed dinner. Food was delicious, cocktails fantastic and service excellent!
Our favourites were the beef tartare, Fried prawn and cuttlefish fish, ceviche and the pork, although the duck was lovely too.
Ambience was great and not too noisy! Just great for a few friends catching up after many months in a lovely setting. A great dining experience overall! Would definitely go back there

Customerservice was terrible. First no one noticed us in the door and didnt say hi. Then when we stopped one of the workers and told we have a Tablereservation, the employee was Rude. Also they couldnt recommend any foods, seemed like they didnt even know the foods properly. Cannot even bother to write everything here. Not good service.

I would describe Floral as the upper end of mid range restaurants in Central London. The food was interesting, great to share and try new things. Although some dishes were slightly overpriced (the pork and Celeriac puree for example), generally speaking the food was okay value for money. And importantly, it was very tasty! The highlights for us were the tuna ceviche and salmon tiradito - really exquisite. If we came back we would just eat more of this! The corn cake side dish was unfortunately over salted, which was a shame. But the other sides we had were nice - would recommend the yucca fries.

Service was faultless, the staff wlvety friendly and accommodating.

We were expecting excellent food based on what is written on the web side, but it was rather disappointing. The taste of ceviches was boring, the beef was a bit chewy, the korncake burned and dry. We also asked for another table, as we were sitting next to the reception and entrance door, which was cold and we were told that all is reserved. Well, the table we asked for was without guests for 1.5 hours.

This was my first experience with Peruvian food. I read all these lovely reviews and decided to take 3 friends there for a dinner. We were all disappointed with the confusing service not able to advise us re the food choice to start with, then the size of food portions were far from expected as a standard, we could’t barely see The difference between The starters size and main meals and something they call” small plate to share” wasnt even enough to share between 2 people to taste it! Finally when it came to The bill we had to Calculate it ourselves and ask them 3 times to correct it.
Sadly we wont be returning or recommending this place to our friends.

Disappointing.

The food was average and a bit underwhelming. We also felt the dishes were more of a mix of South American cuisine than really, truly Peruvian.

The service was lacking. No attention to detail.

Ultimately, price-value in our opinion very unbalanced and a reason for us not to put this back on our list.

Unfortunately when we visited for lunch the fryer wasn’t working, so we couldn’t try the two things we were hoping to - the king prawn dish or the yuca fries. The food we did have was lovely though, especially the sea bream ceviche. An interesting cocktail list.

We went there at 8pm on a Wednesday (pre-booked), so not a particularly busy time. They took a couple of minutes to sit us, but then no one came to take the order (and to clarify some things from the menu which is somewhat confusing regarding portion sizes) for around 10 minutes. Then, they brought only one of the drinks. After that, they took a quite long time to bring the starters (and I had to re-ask for the drinks), and even longer to bring the mains. Around 9.25 a waiter approached to tell us that our order had delays, and they brought it at 9.30. The food was just ok but not at the level of other Peruvian restaurants I've tried in London (and not very Peruvian as someone that has eaten there). The decor was nice, and the food was well presented but it's not worth the terrible service and experience.
It took a long time to get the attention of a waiter to give us the bill; finally my wife stood up from the table and went to talk to some of them which were standing there talking to each other and laughing. It is not cheap for the quality. Avoid this place

My friends really enjoyed the food however because I am familiar with Peruvian food I was quite disappointed. The fish in the ceviche had a taste of almost going off. The cassava was good but the octopus tasteless.
Overall if you never tried Peruvian good you might think it’s fab.. but if you know better you won’t be fooled and rather disappointed
