I was very very pleasantly surprised by this place. Really very good friendly service from a charming team. Good food. A menu with enough that is unusual to be interesting, but plenty of dishes that will suit most.
The staff set the nice atmosphere.
Really liked it.
We had a very good dinner at Florentine's with our kids of 8 and 10. The food was tasty and the personnel was very nice. The place is very convenient as it is part of the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The prices were high though but with the Open Table discount the bill was acceptable.
Nice food on the pricey side but service quite slow although restaurant not busy.
Very good coffees, the food didn't take long at all and even though it was very early, the service good and ready.
As always, the food at Florentine was really excellent and outstanding value for a London restaurant associated with a hotel. However, what really makes the restaurant is its wonderful, friendly young mostly Italian staff who show it is possible to be proud about giving service and very professional without being surly, patronising, over-attentive, not there when you want them, keen to get you out or the usual issues so often encountered in restaurants. The fact it is open all day from noon until late in the evening means you can have a meal at the conventional times or when you feel like it. The all day full breakfast is incredible value and beautifully cooked and presented. The squid and its accompanying lemon mayonnaise are mouth watering. The avocado and eggs on sourdough toast with a slice of lime is a healthy alternative and the main dishes are substantial and excellent. The half roast chicken fell on to my fork last night and the heritage tomato salad was just right with it. My only reservation about giving a reference to Florentine was that it might get even more popular and I might not be able to get in....
We had an ostrich egg breakfast it was really nice and filling.
We felt a bit underdressed (ready for tourism with bug shoes and k way)
It is a bit fancier than I thought but would definitely fit a date atmosphere
The service was very good.
A lovely restaurant that's close to Waterloo; excellent food however the service was on occassion a tad slow to respond.
Nice place to go for a quick dinner with a friend after work. The set menu was great value and service was pleasant and friendly. I wish we'd tried one of the flatbreads, they looked amazing!
Great service. Flat bread was huge so glad we shared. Very friendly, thoughtful, attentive but not intrusive staff... brought me a ginger and honey tea when I wouldn't stop sneezing! Wine list bit pricey, but otherwise we loved it for our quarterly besties catch up. We stayed for 4 hours and were never rushed to go. Would definitely be back!
My husband and I enjoyed an excellent meal here in a relaxed atmosphere.
We found the interior to be smart and service very good.
He chose the full English breakfast which was well cooked and presented.
I was tempted by the Sunday roast and the beef was delicious and cooked to perfection.
I could perhaps have done with another vegetable but it was still really enjoyable.
Our desserts were so nice that neither of us wanted to share.
Unbelievable steak! The reason I chose to eat here for the second time is the steak- it’s incrdible. So flavoursome and always cooked to perfection. Doesn’t feel like your typical hotel restaurant, gorgeous ambience and fab service.
Very helpful, friendly waiter who made some good recommendations. I particularly enjoyed the Mediterranean dish with aubergines and poached eggs on the top. Will definitely eat here again.
everything was more than expected. Really great food and great service. I can't wait to come back.
Nice place however the service was less than stellar. Ordered an appetizer which came out with the meal. Didn't check if we wanted further drinks, etc. after we were served. Good value for a Sunday roast however.
Delicious food served by friendly and helpful staff. The lamb shank was gorgeous.
Heavily advertises the ostrich egg breakfast but waiter said they ‘ran out’ and ‘it’s out of season’. We can all the way there for that. The alternatives on the menu were just ok. Great prices for drinks though.
Very average. We wanted the pre theatre option but had to decide when ordering if we wanted dessert or not, we had never eaten there before so were unsure of portion sizes so would have preferred to decide that later. Most places allow this, it is common practice, but we were told definitely not an option. The service was average, we were a table of 3 but they failed to remember who ordered what. They also didn’t have one of the 3 starter options which was disappointing. Food was a bit bland and over cooked but was a reasonable set menu so forgiven
Huge and heartfelt thanks to all the team who took care of us on my mum's birthday. The food was fantastic as usual, as was the service. Having provided specific instructions on what I wanted (champagne served in the lounge, flowers brought to the table, surprise dessert plate, etc.), the team delivered above and beyond expectations. A wonderful time!
Unusually attractive for a “hotel restaurant “ - convenient for the Old Vic and definitely one of the best options in that area
Very chilled place to have a of wine.
Always a pleasure to dine here staff are friendly and approachable..... brought my mother here for Mother’s Day we both had the lamb shank it was flavoursome and the sweet potato was superb. Refreshed with a passion fruit mojito an overall great Mother’s Day. Will be returning..... thanks Florentine ldn
Delicious food, great service, had a lovely birthday meal :)
For my dads 49th we went in for the Herculean burger and we were defeated! The 4 of us all enjoyed our lunch and as like last time. Great place for a quality meal 👌
The meal we had was tasty but I thought overpriced. There were cheaper options on the menu, so that was our choice, but there did seem to be a premium on some things, perhaps because it is part of a hotel?? For example the soft drinks were rather small, but still £3+. If I was in the area and needed to eat then I'd consider going again, but with so much choice in London I would not make a special trip.
Un trato excepcional por todo el personal y en especial el camarero Donenico.
Excelentes profesionales sin duda volveremos.
Outstanding service - could not speak more highly of our friendly attendant. Good menu choices and fairly extensive wine list at not extravagant prices. Check it out for yourself. With the OT 20% discount on food, good value. Easy to get to, only about 100 yards from Lambeth North tube. Part of a hotel, so quiet in the restaurant at lunchtime. Pleasant ambience and everything spotlessly clean
Loved it - went there for a birthday and the food was excellent
We have eaten here before on a few occasions and have always had a nice experience. Service and food are wonderful.
We had wonderful dinner here
Wrong food, not enough cooked chicken. Stressful and loud environment.
I feel always like home at Florentine. Perfect service, very nice interior furnishings and good food. Recommended!
Great service from the moment I stepped into the restaruant (except one girl in ponytail). The food was great and the Sunday roast (especially the aged beef) was exceptionally good. It was tender but with strong beef flavour. The pancakes (yes, we ordered that for dessert) were good (but not great) because they used salted butter for the pancake mix but the cream and rasperry were sweet (not savory).
My 4th time at the restaurant and another splendid meal, we will return soon when I’m next in London
Thanks for the great service
I booked a table for brunch for six girls to find on the day we had one extra. The staff were so accommodating and it was so nice to have a round table and rather than be sat in a long line. Coffee and food were good and reasonably priced, the only comment from us was that there could be another slice of bread with the poached eggs and avo as the slices were quite small.
We’d be happy to return though, and I’d definitely consider booking again.
Didn't realise on booking that the restaurant was part of a hotel but actually, it was still quite a nice layout and managed a little bit of atmosphere. Menu was nice enough too with a good choice to suit all appetites. However, the highlight was the service - stunning service from the bar to the restaurant. I honestly haven't had service that lovely in London for quite a while!! I cannot rate the staff highly enough and would happily go back just for the service alone!
We enjoyed visiting Florentine. Our goal was to try the Herculean Burger, which was fun to share between 4 people. It was a better burger than I expected. The service however was a slow and the servers were a little awkward. They forgot the drinks and we had to ask again. When they finally came, mid-away through the meal, they were wrong. We just took whatever they brought. It was a good experience but with a little more attention it could have been great.
Food was really good and reasonably priced, and ambience was great. The venue is looking really nice and stylish, nice decoration. You can actually have a conversation because the music is pleasant and at the right volume, at least it was for lunch when we went. We were greeted at arrival. Staff is friendly, relaxed, not pretentious and smiling, which is always a plus. We didn't wait long for our food; service was good as in staff checked whether everything was ok, without being annoying by asking too often. But we had to grab the attention to have the menu again. I would definetely recommend the place, at least if you are looking for a relaxed saturday lunch or just a drink.
You probably wouldn’t expect a restaurant in a chain hotel to be anything more than competent but this one is exceptional. The mushroom and truffle flatbread is truly great dining, I could happily dine on just that but happily the rest of the menu is a delight too. The service is good and the ambience is welcoming. A good place to meet friends and talk without being overwhelmed by noise- something increasingly rare in London these days. And there aren’t many places to eat in this part of London so it is well worth putting in the repertoire.
I celebrated my birthday here and the staff made it really special despite not having anything arranged ahead of time. We went for the 2-kg Herculean burger.
Lovely restaurant. Good food. Not in my area but I’ve just found myself making it the place I take friends for dinner.
