Couldn't believe that in the height of the Corona virus they were sitting people on top of one another despite the restaurant being empty. We asked to be seated a few chairs away from another party and they gave us a dirty look. Asked about using shared tongs at the salad bar and another dirty look. Server never came back after we asked about the issues with the salad bar, had to find someone else to fill our drinks. And they wonder why their restaurant is mostly empty on a Saturday night.

It was a fantastic experience! Have heard great things about the restaurant but hesitated to go, I do prefer to support small businesses rather than corporate restaurants. Regardless- The birthday girl requested to go to this restaurant and it didn't disappoint.

The service was spectacular and the food to die for.

We've been to Fogo probably 20 times in the last 10 years, in Mpls and DC - all with STELLAR service. The service in San Juan was decent, but I've never felt so pressured to spend more ON TOP of our $50 per person meal like we were here. They charged us for water, tried to upsell us to $160 wagyu beef, shrimp cocktail, you name it - and then made us feel less bc we didn't want any of that. No offense, but the main experience is more than enough food for any single human being, so the fact they tried to get us to buy more food so hard was off putting. Also, it was our anniversary- which I noted on the reservation, and they said nothing. Male Manager was very nice.

We arrived at 7:40 for a 7:45 reservation
After waiting 20 minutes on line to check in, we were told that there were 17 parties ahead of us and we’d have to wait at least an hour or more for a table.

First time at a Fogo de Chao. Soooo much food! The meat selection brought to your table was awesome. The “salad bar” that was included was well stocked with so many choices of various foods besides salads. There were cheeses, soups, veggies, etc. The staff was very friendly, too. Could not have picked a better place. Three of is had the full meal at $53 each and the total was only $207 with each of us getting desert!

Everything about this place is extraordinary. I arrived at 5:00pm for my reservation and the host greeted me and my husband with big smile, soon after we got seated at a table that had the most amazing view you could ever imagine. The server Derek explained everything step by step and made things very easy for us to understand. I had my expectations about this restaurant by it was much more that we could think of. Starting with the house specialty drink the caipirinha was so delicious and refreshing, the salad bar has very high end items that most salad bars dont have. Everything was fresh and very nice presented. The servers with the meat service asked us how we wanted our meats cooked and delivered. The taste of the meats is very good. We had very cut and they just kept getting better and better. We really loved the fried bananas and mashed potatoes they gave us as side dishes. To finish the amazing experience we were already having Eva recommended a chocolate cheesecake that they have new in the restaurant, words can not Express the amazing taste of that dessert. Overall this restaurant is a most. I would definitely be back and I am making sure that all my friends know about this place because it's one of best restaurants I've dined in a long time. Thank you for making us feel at home and for the great time. Date night was awesome. See you soon

Beautiful restaurant with a beautiful view. Well organized, awesome food, great staff and all the employees were lovely and very attentive. If you like to get pampered and have all the juicy meat you heart desires, this is the place for you. I definitely recommend it.

Was very annoyed by the fact that a server upsold me a shrimp cocktail that he did not state would be an additional charge. The manager was nice enough to comp it but still, servers should not be doing that; very unprofessional. The service in general (servers and gauchos) was subpar compared to other locations.

Additionally, I've eaten at numerous Fogo locations all across the US and have several friends who are employees. I've never been to a location that has a separate (less inclusive) menu for those dining on a special offer. What's the point of a special offer if it is going to be on a limited menu at an all-you-can-eat Brazilian Churrascaria?

Meal was pricey for what it was. The salad bar was OK but the meats were not that good. We had a 7:15 reservation but people without reservations were seated before us. They sat us at 7:30. We had to ask for the sides for the table and didn’t realize that it was another 21 for the shrimp appetizer. For 200 meal would have done better at a regular steakhouse.

We did arrived late but respectfully called to let management know that our party of 6 would be late. Initially the restaurant reported my party as a no show and OpenTable reached out to ask why despite the fact that we showed up, ate a little food and paid a lot of money for a premium dining experience that turned out to be no better than going to a fast food restaurant. We were initially overcharged, but to their credit they corrected their mistake. Ultimately with tip we paid a total of around $340 and this was with a 5yr old who ate for free and 2 kids that paid 1/2 price. I have no issue with paying for a premium dining experience, but Fogo de Chao's promise of many different cuts of meat, per the menu and the waitress turned out only to be 3 or 4 cuts of meat. To add insult to injury, half way through the alleged premium dining experience at 9:30pm the staff started to clean the salad bar area while we were seated right next to the salad bar totally disrupting our meal and despite the restaurant stating that they closed at 10:30pm. Shortly there after all food service stopped and the staff hovered over our table trying to clear it even though we were still eating. When we complained to the house manager he simply said, "Thank you"

For the record, I have been to Fogo de Chao many times in multiple locations and never once have I had this kind of horrendous experience. We felt as though we had been mugged. Our evening of celebration was stolen from my family and ultimately Fogo de Chao assumed no culpability. Word of advise to the management of Fogo de Chao, if you can not deliver the premium experience you promise because you don't have the food supply you guarantee then be honest about it and show some loyalty to your customer base.

The food is excellent here - the quality, the freshness, the presentation. But these Brazillian steakhouses are all the same, so once you've been to one, you've seen them all. The guachos always leave you wanting, in quantity and selection of meats. It grows tireseome waiting for a preferred cut of beef to come around. It's best to go in a larger party of friends where you can command some attention.

We had Christmas Eve dinner here. The restaurant overlooks the harbor with large windows - very appealing. Our reservation was honored and we were seated quickly. The staff were VERY attentive and charming. If you are not familiar with a Brazilian Steakhouse, once you are seated waiters come by your table frequently with various beef, pork and chicken items on spits and offer you a portion if you wish. They provide a clever little coaster with yes on one side and no on the other - you flip it one way or the other to signal to the staff if you want them to offer more or to take a break. The meats were excellent. They offer a very large salad bar to begin with and during dinner spontaneously drop off small side dishes like fried sweet plantain or mashed potatoes. The restaurant was busy, high energy,with Latin music, and much lively chatter and laughter. It was a perfect holiday dinner and I recommend it highly.

One challenge was actually finding the restaurant! We relied on Google Maps which brought us close enough to see it but it took us about 30 minutes to figure out where to park and how to weave our way to the front door. The trick is to park in the Paseo Caribe garage, 15 Avenida Luis Muñoz Rivera, San Juan, 00907, and weave your way up to the second floor through the elevator - the stairs are misleading. Well worth the bit of confusion.
