Took myself out on a date! It was great!
Service was mediocre until Lisa took over our table. Prior to this, we were not provided side dishes until we asked and the waiter was more focused on pushing the alcoholic beverages. My favorite meal, the garlic beef was pure fat. Very disappointed. Service would have been a 1 had it not been for Lisa taking over. She was very attentive and reflected the service that we know of Fogo, as this was not our first visit.
As chaotic and busy as it was in there, the service was excellent. I have no idea how everyone did such a great job, but they did.
I made a reservation to celebrate my wife's 30th birthday. They were not able to seat us on time. We stayed for 50 minutes and were offered meat only 5 times. Non of those times was served a prime meat such as the picanha. Instead, they were coming with chicken and sausage. Bad service overall, too noisy, and way over priced for a few meat bites. I've been to the original Fogo de Chão in Brazil and the one in DC does NOT deserve to be called Fogo de Chão.
I would recommend going to this restaurant, but make sure you go at least 2hours before closing because i felt like we weren’t served enough of a variety of meat because we came late. The customer service rep was amazing i forgot her name but she made sure we had everything we needed. I initially thought she was the general manager.
On 8/17/2019, Fogo was very busy. It was the next to last day for DC's restaurant week. I was told by a worker that they had over 1,000 reservations for that day and wait time would probably be about 2 hours without one.
Thankfully, we had reservations and were seated within 5 minutes of checking in at the hostess station. That was a great start to a very enjoyable dining experience. At Fogo, various cuts & types of meats are brought to your table, as well as side dishes, and you can choose to try/eat all or some of what is offered. I had some of everything they brought to the table! The special for restaurant week was a menu that consisted of 11 types & various cuts of meats, the market table- which is a huge salad bar for lack of a better term (it had way more than salads on it and it was a feast in and of itself!). and the soup, rice, & beans station (don't remember how to say nor spell the name of this station, but head to their website after reading this review!). We opted to get the full experience which included all of the above plus lamb chops, filet mignon, prime rib!
All in all, the food was delicious and the experience was unique and unforgettable. To top it off, every worker, from the managers to the servers, was friendly, polite, enthusiastic- every one of them seemed so glad to be serving and interacting with the customers. It was as if they were hosting us in there home and delighted in our pleasure there. I am ready to go again (the restaurant is doing its own special through mid-September so that makes it so tempting to go back soon :-) )!
Extremely super Noisy. And all the service is too slow.
I made a reservation and walked in 10 mins before the reserved time. The server was super rude and said they don’t have a table for 2 not anymore and he just walked out in front of me. The receptionist had to apologize about sever’a attitude.
Charlotte and Gilson, Restaurant Manager, ensured that we had an enjoyable dining experience at Fogo on 8/17/19. We’ll keep coming back.
It was nice but it was very loud.
Very pleasant experience especially since it was the first time my fiancé and I have ever dined at Fogo de Chao. Will be returning again in the near future
Horrible service. Waiter never checked on us.
Went during restaurant week. Everything was great.
This restaurant is amazing! My loved ones and I are never disappointed! Obviously the meat is wonderful but the cheese bread is my favorite!! We had a nice Malbec this time and I was very pleased. I also had my go-to at Fogo: A Caipirinha! I love them and have never had one as delicious as it is here. You will not be displeased when you go to Fogo de Chao!
We absolutely loved our meal at Fogo De Chao. The service was excellent and the food was sensational. We went for restaurant week, but I would go back any time of the year.
Went for restaurant week so at that price I believe we received a good value. Not sure if at the normal price of $60 pp that is still true. Found drink prices high but not unreasonable for DC. The food was excellent. Don't skip the sides but don't go overboard either. Try the black beans and the polenta. Skip the mashed potatoes. The parm encrusted pork was to die for. The top sirloin and garlic beef were fantastic. The bacon wrapped chicken was better than the bacon wrapped steak IMO. Staff was superb. Overall great evening. We will be back.
One of the best ever and we loved to sit upstairs with an overall low noise level.
Great variety of meat and on the salad bar. Prompt service.
We went for our 3 year anniversary and it was amazing! I would suggest this place to anyone who loves red meat and amazing ambiance.
My server forgot to bring the table sides . I asked for warm asparagus they took 45 minutes to tell me they couldn’t make it. We only saw about 5 different types of meat and all beef no chicken nothing else
The customer service was poor and I was served cold mashed potatoes.
21st bday celebration
We came here for our anniversary dinner. We were dressed up in sport jacket/evening gown attire. But I think what threw me off the most was that there were people dining in shorts and flip flops. This seemed like a nice, upscale place but to have no dress code seems odd. Maybe it’s not as nice as I thought.
The food was great and the service was on par with what we expected.
I assumed I would be able to take advantage of the. $39.99 special. I was disappointed that certain meats (lamb chops) were excluded. That was not stated in the online advertisement.
Excellent food, friendly staff!
Have been to several locations and this one is very good. Would recommend to anyone who appreciates beef.
Always consistently high quality food. Best salad bar in town including smoked salmon. This is a really good place for a Friday afternoon salad and glass of red wine.
The staff was great, they even remembered that we had indicated that it was our anniversary. Also, I have tried the competition "Texas De Brazil" in DC and the first thing that happened when we got there was that the manager was looking up and down at me and my wife looking at what we had on while making faces like deciding if he was going to give us a table or not based on our appearance (I'm hispanic so this bothered me a lot coming from the Manager). Fogo de Chao was completely different, everybody was very pleasant, professional, and kind. The food was the same as Texas De Brazil, but the staff matters a lot. We will be definitely coming back to Fogo de Chao!
Excelente servicio. Excelente comida. Excelente ambiente.
HAD A GREAT TIME OUR WAITER WAS THE BEST...THE SERVERS COULD HAVE BEEN A LIL BETTER WITH MAKING SURE THE WHOLE TABLE RECEIVES THE SAME SERVICE
Muy caro para lo que es
Wonderful restaurant. We enjoyed the meals. All were kind and worked great jobs.
We requested several times meat., delayed service.
Great food and a fun place to have a birthday day party.
Excellent food I will always go back to fogo de chao and I recommend this restaurant to all my friends.
Good food and excelente service!
The food good, but not exceptional. Service was excellent. Good place for dinner. Pricey.
I use Fogo de Chao as the venue for welcoming my intern every six months. It is a great way to start a new working relationship, the atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed, the food never disappoints, and my intern actually gets to eat that day.
