Contemporary American
Vibrant flavors and warm service are the cornerstones of Fond, a new American-style restaurant from Chef-owners Lee Styer and Jessie Prawlucki, a husband-and-wife team. Located along Philadelphia’s popular East Passyunk Avenue, Fond is at once a sophisticated and comfortable neighborhood spot, appropriate for a variety of occasions, from a casual night out, to drinks at the bar, or a celebratory dinner.

Fond’s interior features natural tones and elements, including a 12-seat live-edge wood bar, where guests may enjoy a selection of beers, well-crafted cocktails and a thoughtfully curated wine list. The 36-seat dining room with its bright display of greenery throughout and oversized windows overlooking the neighborhood’s ‘Singing Fountain’ enhance the restaurant’s comfortable, welcoming ambiance. During warmer months, ample sidewalk seating is available for guests to enjoy food and drink al fresco.

I’ve been here several times and it’s consistently one of the best restaurant experiences in Philly. So cute, excellent bar, food is always impeccable. It’s definitely in my top-3 restaurants and my fav on Passyunk Ave.

Two perfect meals in two weeks BOTH at Fond,
This was out second time in two weeks. It was restaurant week so we could "spluge" Chef Lee is an amazing creative chef and his wife makes the BEST bread ever. The MUST ORDER here is the liver Pate (yes with more of that bread). The coq au vin and Skate were great too.

Many of the staff have been here for years. And for good reason. This time our server was Becca anshe was efficient AND friendly.

Fond is one of those South Philly places that doesn't get a lot of press but doesn't need it. The food is that good.

BTW, Tuesday-Thursday's it's BYOB (though they have very nice wine and cocktail list too)

Its not large so on a busy night expect it to be loud. But concentrate on the beautifully plated food and you'll do fine

We love Fond, especially for the amazing pates and liver mousses and the breads (to die for) by Jessica. Lee - chef/owner - is creative but not too adventurous (that's good) and the flavors are so deep. We like the fact that you can bring your own wine (with no cork charge) Tuesday through Thursdays.
The staff is both effecient and friendly (thank you hostess Dominique!)
In fact we are returning next week.
Note that they do get busy and the room can be a bit noisy but the food will win you over

our dinner for restaurant week was delicious, but the service was a horror. Arrived at 6:30 and ordered. Our first course came in a timely manner, our main course did not arrive until 8:15. we finished dinner a little after 9. Waitress was very apologetic and our 2 drinks were taken off the bill. I don't think I would return!

Finally had Fond’s brunch which has been on my radar ever since I saw the menu. Absolutely top 5 restaurant in Philly. I’ve been going here for years and it is consistently excellent ever time. I can’t say that about many restaurants in this city.
We had someone who has never been to Fond with us so we had to introduce them to the best chicken liver mousse there is. Period! They were reluctant because they’ve tried chicken liver mousse before and never liked it. I insisted and they were thanking me after they took their first bite. They couldn’t believe how delicious it was.
The Braised Duck Hash was very good but the standouts were the Pork Belly &Eggs and the French Dip Cheese Steak.
Their Bloody Mary’s are excellent - not the heavy thick kind.

We got the Valentine’s tasting and loved it! We also got wine pairing and it could not have been better. Food was well prepared and drinks were mixed perfectly! Talented chef as well as a talented bartender. Service was incredible very attentive without being obtrusive. We ‘Klugman be back!

We tried the five course tasting menu and it did not disappoint. Each course was thoughtfully prepared and complimented the next. From the stroganoff with black truffle and the delicious pork belly, the entire meal was a wonderful experience. The cocktails were great too! We will be back.

The servers, especially Adam, are at the top of the restaurant scene in Philly. The bartender prepares some of the best cocktails around. Our meal was delicious. Our appetizers of Oyster Rockefeller and Escargot were tasty. The main entrees of Pork Belly and Duck Confit were exceptional, as were our sorbet and chocolate cheesecake for dessert. A true neighborhood gem!

Went for Valentines Day dinner so may have been an atypical experience, but it was a pretty disappointing ~$270 meal (for two, pre-tip). Arrived on-time for 9pm reservation, sat down at 945pm, and didn’t receive main course until just before midnight. Small thing, but had to ask for bread as waiter skipped us for some reason. Left before dessert at 1230am because we were falling asleep. Generally don’t expect fast service on Valentine’s Day, but it was a late reservation so I expected better, and the waiters did not acknowledge the delays or comp us for a glass of wine or something as a gesture. The appetizers were excellent (the soup especially), but the surf and turf was served lukewarm and was average. Might be better on a non-valentines night, but not willing to try again.
