Foresters Bar & Restaurant
Located at Landal Darwin Forest the Foresters is open to both Park guests and the general public.
Pets are also welcome in the bar area.
The Foresters has a lovely alfresco dining area with a children's playground adjacent.
Staff attentive, food arrived well cooked, well presented. Food on the expensive side but to be expected on holiday park. Only criticism would be that the area you can make a reservation in is not as updated and modern as the bar area.
Family get together. Food was stunning. We came a few years ago and there is a definite improvement on the food front. The surroundings and service has always been excellent. Just a little expensive but, hey!
Good food at a reasonable price, friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere
Food and service were extremely good. The steak, ale and mushroom pie was second to none...... my compliments to the chef! Both my husband and I thought it was very good value for money.
The only criticism I would have is that it is not pleasant having cleaning spray used to clean tables while eating. Four tables were cleaned (very thoroughly😁), while we were eating and the smell was very noticeable. I understand the need to re-set tables as they become empty but perhaps go into the restaurant with cleaning cloths already damp in readiness to wipe the tables rather than use the spray around diners.
Staff brilliant very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend to go there
Excellent!! Great food, great service! Very family friendly...
Wonderful place to dine. The prices are amazing for the amount of food you get! The portion sizes are huge (which means I didn’t get to have dessert but I’ll cope!) All staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area!
We were staying at Darwin Forest and went to the restaurant on our first night in a party of 6. Overall an excellent experience, drinks good, service good, and food while not the cheapest was excellent quality and overall good value for money. We went to the restaurant again during our weekend stay, and would definitely recommend.
Having eaten here several times before I have never been disappointed and the service never disappoints
Absolutely incredible! Food quality was the best and we all had something different. The fish salad was the best my sister had eaten and the steak and ale pie was just wow!!! I definitely recommend a visit!!
Lovely restaurant for family dinner. Staff pleasant and efficient. Nice relaxed atmosphere.
Great Sunday lunch and outstanding service.
Food was absolutely beautiful and very filling. Staff couldn't do enough for you
Reasonably priced also. Highly recommend 👍
We had requested a plain meal on our on line booking form. When we arrived at the restaurant, the staff confirmed it was all taken care of. The staff were attentive.
We ate here for 3 evenings of our weeks holiday then the Sunday lunch and also a few lunch meals and can’t recommend it enough!! Lovely food and service def be back!!
Lovely meal good quality. Service was excellent. Lovely chips
We ate in here quite a few times whilst on hols. We enjoyed all the meals we tried and hardly got to try any puddings as the portion sizes were really good. The service too was very good.
We had a great meal. The food was piping hot and everyone was very happy with their meal. The fish and chips was lovely with a great light batter. Very friendly team also.
Lovely food, great service, the noise was a bit loud in the conservatory as there was two groups of ladies who were having girly drinks all day and we’re continuing drinking early evening at there evening meal.
Had a lovely meal here.food was amazing. The service was really good too. Have booked to come back again.
Absolutly amazing freshly cooked food to order. Really can not fault anything during our experience it was far superior than expected. The nicest nachos I have ever had
Great meal with the family. Very good portions
Very welcoming staff, very polite and efficient service. Food cooked very well, the summer room was nice and cool, good value for money, the only issue was foresters had a limited menu, with quite a few choices sold out to make it even smaller. Other than that a very enjoyable evening.
Meal reasonable for quantity, quality and cost. On a par with a Beefeater I would think.
Was a lovely setting ,fantastic food would recommend , fantastic waitresses
We went for Father’s Day meal. The starters were good value for money. The roast lamb dinner was beautiful with plenty of vegetables, proper roast potatoes and very tasty gravy. Overall a very good experience and I would recommend it
The waitress nearly through my sons starter at him my husbands soup she spilt all over the place, I had the chicken tikka curry and I thought it was over facing with two poppadoms and two naan bread with rice and chips I did not enjoy, my daughter in law had the same and was over faced. Having said that my son had steak and he enjoyed. The kids enjoyed there meals
Used the restaurant whilst staying on site.
Excellent service and food.
The portion sizes are very generous and the food is very tasty.
Excellent food and the service was brilliant. Very friendly staff
IT was hard to differentiate between Bar and restaurant menus. We felt the food was of a "Good Pub Meal" standard and was probably what was required for the clientele. One suggestion would be to try to create a more homely/social atmosphere with more opportunity for customers to mix rather than just be in their own company in a semi- formal situation. We visited Foresters a few years previously and felt there was more of a "Pub" atmosphere then. This in no way downgraded the establishment but added to the friendliness of the atmosphere.
Hope this is constructive criticism as is not intended to be negative. Overall, we enjoyed our meals.
We arrived and got seated straight away how ever after 20 mins of sitting at the table another table arrived next to us with around 9 and got served by the waitress before us, we sat there for almost an hour before my husband went to the bar a second time and asked them about taking our order and then the girl from behind the bar came to us, the food was nice, garlic mushrooms lovely, prawn cocktail was a little bland and needed more sauce. Unfortunately because of the service and us have to rush our food to get back to the grandparents who were looking after our children. We did have a table for the whole family the night after but decided to cancel an eat at the lodge instead.
Definitely value for money as portions were large. However, the seats were wet from previous cleaning and it was only after we'd returned home that I realised I'd also paid for extra drinks not part of our table.
Fantastic meal cooked to perfection staff very friendly and helpful.
Had an amazing Sunday lunch at the Foresters. The beef with all the trimmings was delicious and the desserts were incredible.
Tasty food, big portions, friendly staff, had a fantastic weekend at Darwin Forest with friends and my partner. Came to the restaurant on the first night and would definitely recommend
Lovely hot food and well presented.. not the cheapest place to eat but steaks both nights were of good quality so no complaints there.
The only real negative was the bar lacks any atmosphere .
Great food, nice setting and really friendly, attentive staff. Good range of real ales on tap.
Starters and main meal excellent. Sweet Bakewell tart disappointing not as described in the menus. Staff very pleasant. Sat in conservatory ideal couples and adult company
Tasty meal, attentive staff, reasonable prices however I thought the choices were rather limited for both main meals and desserts.
Got looked after right from the start. Asked how food was . Asked if we were too warm etc . We got seated in the beautiful orangery. Food was delicious ..beautiful views of maintained grounds ..very pleasant afternoon . Will be visiting again x
