Unforgettable, beautiful food, presented to perfection with flawless service, not to be missed.
Came here for lunch with friends. The food was exquisite - quite the most exceptional food I’ve eaten since my last visit to the restaurant. The presentation and flavour of all the dishes we chose was absolutely beautiful, and the service was discreet, warm, friendly and helpful.
Great value. Service was stunning. Never waited a beat. View was fantastic for the 7:30 booking for three courses in August Thanks
Superb Meal with friends for a 50th birthday celebration and Fringe Show. From start to finish we couldn’t fault service and food was excellent. Great set menu for £35 for 3 courses and cocktail. The garlic loaf was delicious and an amuse busche of soup was beautiful. To top it off the festival fireworks came on which were amazing and they presented the birthday girl with a birthday cupcake. What a view. We’ll be back.
Amazing food and service
Across the board a very favorable experience;
I ordered the grilled vegetables and salmon salad and cheese plate. 3 course meal was good value and setting overlooking the city was perfect. I like that a cocktail was included in the 3 course meal
Service was great attentive without being overbearing
Best meal of our ten day UK trip and awesome view!
Lovely location and a good set menu though 2 of my friends were full after 2 courses on the 3 course set menu and asked to substitute desert for a drink but this was not allowed, which was a bit disappointing as the value of the requests was the same in monetary terms. I would still go back but it seemed a minor request from our perspective.
An excellent meal in a fantastic location thank you.
My friend and I arrived early and they managed to seat us on a table outside in the sunshine which was lovely. The service from the 2 young men was perfect and the food really good. We will definitely come back.
Great food and service spoiled by the noise from other dining areas
WEe went there for our wedding anniversary, for which it was well suited. The food was fine, the view over the city first rate and the servrice good and unhurried.
Delicious meal at HN Edinburgh. We always try to dine there when visiting, and it has never failed to excel with a excellent food and service.
Came here to celebrate a birthday. My friend and I were given a table next to the window overlooking St Andrew Square, with a fantastic view of the Christmas ice rink, George Street and the castle. This really made the occasion feel special.
Every member of staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful, and this created a lovely relaxed atmosphere. It was also jazz night, and we thoroughly enjoyed the music. Overall, the ambience was excellent.
The food was, without exception, absolutely outstanding. We both had starters and a main course from the festive menu, then coffee and miniature mince pies. These arrived on a large plate with “Happy Birthday” written round the edge in chocolate - a very nice touch. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted really delicious. We agreed that it was the best food either of us had eaten in a long while.
Fab evening well looked sfter as always food was excellent i dnjoyed my gin cocktdil
I was at Harvey Nichols with my grand-daughter celebrating her 18th birthday so it was the perfect setting for this occasion...we had excellent attention and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves...the food we chose was delicious!
Table by window offered magnificent views of square and castle in distance. Staff very attentive and didn't rush us at all. Tasty and well presented food. Will definitely return if a special occasion.
Nice restaurant , great food and amazing view ; I would def come back anytime soon xx
Phenomenal service, the staff in the restaurant anticipated our needs and exceeded our high expectations. Food beautifully presented and cooked to perfection.
Thoroughly enjoyed a birthday lunch with my niece, the food was delicious - full of flavour and well presented , the service excellent and we enjoyed people-watching, interesting views too, Rona
Absolutely beautiful food and great service!
Really lovely lunch. Excellent service. Professional unobtrusive service. Would definitely recommend.
Fantastic Festive lunch with friends. Fabulous service and great table by the window.
Lovely lunch perfect venue in beautiful Edinburgh ❤️
The main course on arrival was not hot enough, otherwise a very enjoyable lunch.
The menue was limited. There was no chicken or steak options.
Very disappointed. Booked Lunch after receiving the email from Open table
to find out on arrival at Harvey Nicol's that the offer was invalid.
No attempt was made by them to rectify the situation.
The food was ok, however my glass of water came with a piece of blue kitchen roll floating in it.
Don't book, as you don't receive what you are expecting. Poor on both companies part .
Excellent presentation of food and great flavours. Unfortunately, I had some extra bits with my fish, but they took my plate away and served me a new plate quite quickly. Service was top notch. I enjoyed the food here and would come again!
A fashionable modern slightly glitzy environment, good ambience, but avoiding being too flashy. Menu not overcrowded yet offering good choice. Tables far enough apart, and a quite refined atmosphere. Service not too attentive, despite not being busy, but quite acceptable.
All-in-all a quite pleasant experience, and good value for the comfort, ambience and excellent cooked dishes.
I will return.
A very enjoyable dining experience. The staff were friendly and attentive
You can enjoy lovely food very well presented, while enjoying a superb view of Edinburgh skyline.
A real treat. Great service and great food. I shall be returning again soon
We can't understand why this restaurant was not busy - food lovely combinations of flavours and beautifully presented and service were both very very good. Stunning views as well. Staff were very helpful - asking us when we would like our food order placed and reminding us that we hadn 't placed an order for a starter when we were on a three course deal. Welcome cocktail was lovely and we were assured that something could probably be done if we didn't like it. We'll be back!
Great food and service meant we had a lovely evening with a bonus of looking out over St Andrew's Square
Outstanding cuisine with service to match.
Great place, great food and service. Ideal for a special occasion
Took my mum for a special birthday lunch. It all started well with lovely cocktail and very attentive staff. We had a main course and were planning dessert, the main course ( both had fish), was excellent. Then the staff seemed to forget we were there, they became very busy all fawning over other diners. We had to wave to ask for a top up of wine and to order cheese and coffee. The coffee came but 20 mins later no cheese so we cancelled it and paid and left.
I said why we were cancelling it and they didn't charge for coffee and apologised.
A real shame that our special lunch (great food) was ruined, my impression was because other diners were more important to the staff.
So this was the first stop on my birthday weekend which also subsequently included Ondine and The Witchery, so not much competition ha!
Saturday lunch started with cocktails in the bar which were fantastic, and the price was offset by the quality, then a waiter guided my friend and I through to the restaurant which started with a bottle of champagne followed by an amazing 3 course lunch, which was un-rushed, great quality and as good a service also provided. We also ordered cheese and biscuits but as I can't eat Oat Cakes the restaurant prepared some small pieces of toast to accompany the cheese which perfect.
Although the restaurant knew it was my birthday weekend when I originally booked the venue in September it could quite easily have been forgotten, however at the end my friend and I were asked to stay in our seats, where the waiter brought a plate with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate with some additional chocolates and two complementary glasses of champagne ! An amazing touch from the venue and although other eating establishments were aware it was my birthday weekend, Harvey Nic's was the ONLY venue that went the extra mile !
Overall it wasn't that expensive considering the location, venue, quality of food and alcohol consumed (bottle of champagne, 3 cocktails each and. 3 course lunch for less than £200) which was absolutely matched by the service which was exemplary ! The restaurant continually went out of their way to ensure we were happy, which is something do really don't see too much of these days.
An absolute recommend, was probably only just shaded by The Witchery (but then my friend and I both had expectations from The Witchery!) .... And as the title states an absolute perfect way to start a special weekend - congratulations to everyone who helped make me feel special - you absolutely "nailed it" :-)
Great location and ambiance. Great food with unhurried service.
