a classic Italian restaurant, busy, lively, excellent service and food served by friendly and efficient staff. highly recommended
My wife enjoyed her meal; I didn't enjoy mine. At the end of the meal, my pudding was late in coming so I ordered ice cream instead thinking it would be quicker. I was charged for both. The cappuccino was awful. Service charge was added to the bill, as is usual in restaurants, but then we were invited to add a tip which we thought was a real cheek. This is no reflection on the people who served us: they were nice. Overall the place was strangely un-Italian.
Fantastic from start to finish! Would highly recommend.
Absolutely fantastic restaurant we will be visiting again. Staff and food 100% perfect. Thanks for a brilliant evening
Food was lovely & a good selection on menu. Wine was great. Only negative was our table was outside, which on a rainy evening wasn't the best & the staff would sometimes forget you are out there. Would go back again if we had an inside table.
Food was very good as was the service. Cosy atmosphere. My only criticism was that my seat wasn’t very comfortable as it was in between cushions and I had to sit on a hard wooden bit
We were a large table of 8 and the service was quick and attentive throughout. The food is very tasty and reasonable value for central London. The atmosphere is great with cool decor and a buzzy vibe. Overall very pleasantly surprised!
We were rushed from the start. We wanted to have a cocktail and relax before dinner, That was impossible. They came to our table over and over wanting to take our main course after we ordered appetizers. We wanted this to be a relaxing dinner. We ordered cocktails and a bottle of wine. You can not drink as fast as they want you to. After a little over on hour they said they will need our table soon. OK for a quick bite but try to relax
Really enjoyed my experience. Delicious food and friendly service.
great food ,service and ambiance. Great Tempura courgette
Such a welcoming, buzzy and warm atmosphere greeted me and my canine companion. Smiling and kind waiting staff, a bowl of water for the dog. A glass of water for me. A real find. I will certainly be back!
A find. An unpretentious family Italian with very big portions! Will be back.
Excellent service! It was my grandmother’s birthday and the waiters made it really special. Looking forward to coming again!
Food was excellent. Place is a little small and we had a late and very loud party next to us. Service was excellent
Fantastic food and great atmosphere if a little loud. Service great with friendly staff. Will definitely come again.
Very expensive for not a lot to eat. Very small portions. Service was poor no condiments no Parmesan with the pasta. We asked several times for the desert menu before we finally got one . We wouldn’t usually have a desert but we were all still hungry
Great food - friendly lovely staff, dogs well catered for with lots of cuddles. Really nice to find a dog friendly place in town
This was an unbelievable find amazing venue with great staff and of course the food! Great value for money defiantly going to be returning here!
Lovely food, good value and nice atmosphere, not too loud but quite cosy so was quite intimate
Great experience, excellent food, lovely atmosphere
This is a cosy restaurant, beautifully decorated and a really nice atmosphere. Service was good, our waitress attentive and professional and the food was lovely.
We enjoyed 3 courses and a bottle of wine - just under a £100.
Delicious food, fabulous service a fantastic dining experience.
Lovely cosy Italian restaurant. The staff were very friendly and helpful and food was superb! Would definitely go back.
Excellent food as always, with helpful staff who were as always amazing and friendly . See you again !
Excellent ambience in this small but intimate restaurant right in the middle of Soho. The service was attentive and efficient and the food was enjoyable, if not outstanding. Having said that the whole point about 40 Dean Street is that the overall experience was very pleasing and we all had a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Great relaxed vibe and food.
However, despite booking a month in advance, when our party of 3 arrived we were shown to a tiny table only big enough for 2. The staff looked affronted when I suggested we needed the table for 2 next to us to be added to ours, as despite having a gap of 30cm between the two tables I discovered they had booked this one for two people too! Granted, it’s a small restaurant but it’s not acceptable to cram people in when we were paying a fair amount of money for dinner.
As a group of 6 friends visiting London we arrived bang on our allocated time slot and were show to our table after a short wait. Food and surroundings were fine, but one member of staff was really quite unfriendly and curt. This was a shame as the other staff were lovely, cheerful and helpful. We had to ask three times for some table water before it actually arrived and our second wine order took so long to come that we had to gulp it down as it was the end of our 2 hour time slot and we were being asked to leave by the grumpy one. We were annoyed that tables who were already there when we arrived were not being asked to leave. We felt unwelcome and rushed and probably won’t return for that reason.
Beautiful setting with gorgeous food! Staff were really accommodating pushing our table back due to an unforeseen circumstance, even on a busy Saturday night. Restaurant is small but intimate. Perfect date night setting! Thank you!
Family meal before theatre show. Table not quite ready on arrival and then after 1h 15 mins we were informed we only had the table for another 10 minutes. Considering we were late being seated this was rather harsh and ultimately meant we didn’t order coffees or limoncellos at the end.
This rather spoilt what had been a good meal with delicious pizza and salads.
A service charge was added for a table of 4 which seemed rather strange.
Great food, most of the service was welcoming although made to feel rushed at the end.
Delicious food and plenty of choice on the menu. Cocktail menu was good!
Lovely food but don’t come here if you don’t drink because they will rush you out.
The fettuccine pasta with mushrooms and butternut squash was amazing, can’t stop thinking about it. Will be back 100%
Simple staples for the theatre crowd delivered well by an attentive service team.
Mains ready less than 10 minutes after receiving the starter
No time to finish the stater
Profiteroles rock hard
Hurried out as they needed the table back
Lovely pasta, good service. Quick as well, getting us to the theatre on time.
Delicious food, gorgeous restaurant, cosy, disco music and amazing Leon working that night ! Fabulous time
Lovely restaurant, great service and the food was very tasty
Small and friendly restaurant close to Shaftesbury avenue and the main theatres. A very enjoyable restaurant
Went for a work lunch, very friendly and quick service. Food was delicious and not overly expensive! Will be coming back
Absolutely loved this restaurant & will be back at the first opportunity!
Gorgeous staff & fantastic service with the most delicious food!
I brought my 2 dachshunds too, and they were made to feel as welcome as me!
Can’t recommend this restaurant more!
