I’ve gone to founding farmers several times over the past 3/4 years and they have yet to improve the time it takes to seat people with reservations. Every single time I’ve gone, it takes them at least 15-20 min of us waiting before they seat us despite having a reservation. Today for my anniversary, it took them nearly 25 min to seat us! The waiter also didn’t get our drink that we ordered, which just added to the merely so-so experience.
Excellent food and service. Maybe space heaters for outside dining and a little decoration.
It was great, as always! Happy to finally visit since the start of the pandemic. 11/10 get the corn bread!!!!!
My coworker petal is leaving the company after 14 years
I am leaving my urology family after 14 years
What is the point of making a reservation if there is only 1 line to checkin that includes walk-in customers without reservations? Not a very efficient front desk operation. Also does not uphold the 6 feet apart requirement in the front foyer. Server was great, but not at all impressed or satisfied with the organizational aspects of checkin.
Buffet had servers that were not professional. Food was limited and yet it was supposed to be a buffet. Horrible experience. We should have gone with the a la carte menu.
Service was poor. Very slow and did not tell us about items.
Service was extremely slow even with only a few tables occupied due to Covid. Server took our appetizer to the wrong table. They then had to prepare a new appetizer for us. Entree was slow coming out. We got there around 3:15pm and finally left at about 5:30pm.
The cheeseburger was fantastic; the meat was perfectly cooked and the restaurant-made roll was excellent.
I will say outdoors and the groundskeepers from the adjacent building were mowing and trimming, so it was a bit noisy from that. Not the restaurant’s responsibility, just a feature of outdoor dining.
House made bucatini pasta was amazing!! Worth every carb!
Nothing really special here by way of food . A bit disappointed as entrees from previous dining experience made me want to come back, but this trip...not so much. This restaurant may be best suited for a quick lunch at a fairly decent price.
I am so sorry, CMTL to read that the food served during your recent visit was deemed "nothing special". :( Please know, our Culinary Team have been made aware of your feedback & will surely look into this! We really hope you'll be back to give us another try soon, and please call us anytime for a reservation: 703-442-8783. -Amy
Great service and great food. Highly recommended.
This is my favorite FF location for "weekend brunch" but due to Covid 19 changes have made the experience less enjoyable.
I am real sorry to read our changes impacted by Covid-19 has affected the enjoyment of your brunch experiences with us. :( I would love to know more about this, and see what we can perhaps do differently! That said, I will send you a personal note with my email address for the opportunity to connect further. -Amy
Had a nice Saturday evening dinner outside at Founding Farmers-Tysons. The tables are spaced far apart. There is no roof and no heaters (at least yet) so it got breezy and a bit chilly but otherwise, everything was terrific.
Service on the slow side. Alcoholic drinks were small. Fried green tomatoes too breaded. My expensive halibut was over cooked. My friend said the beer can chicken wasn’t as good as elsewhere. Disappointed as I had heard good things about this restaurant.
I am very sorry this visit was 3/5 in every category, and sadly we missed the mark with our service, drink & food. :( We appreciate you sharing this with us and I would really love the chance to follow up about your feedback & do my best to turn this around. I will send you a DM with my email address to hopefully connect further. -Amy
Had to locate a table for us inside when going towards outside, feel we should have been asked our preference first.
Food was ok , but not extra ordinary
It had been several years since I had breakfast/brunch at Founding Farmers, and never at Tyson's location. I was surprised to learn the only option was a buffet. The food stations were short-handed and by the time I returned to the table with my food everything was cold. I ordered coffee, which was served lukewarm. Halfway through breakfast, a plate of 4-5 desserts was served. Since I don't eat dessert I asked if I could have a "to go" box. I was told that was not an option. I certainly understand having no" to go" boxes for a buffet, but after placing the desserts on the table, I knew they could not be re-served, so in lieu of preparing them "to go" the restaurant would prefer to pitch them. If you love high fat, high sugar food and lots of it, you will love this place. Just be prepared to eat it at room temperature. (1-Breakfast Buffet + 1-Coffee = $40.14) This will be my last visit to Founding Farmers.
I am super sorry for the many disappointments with your brunch visit this time. :( I feel terrible the food stations were shorthanded, the food cold and the coffee lukewarm. I also totally get your point about the boxes when dessert was served, and will pass this along to our Management Team for their immediate consideration. This all said, I would love the chance to turn around your choice to never return, and will be sending you a follow up msg with my email address to connect further. -Amy
Top offer was the stuffed dates wrapped in bacon appetizer which were great. Should be more than 5.
Ordered fish, market price. The halibut was $35 and small and over cooked. Yuck.
Wife’s tuna ahi poke bowl was great.
Services was terrible and slow.
Martini’s were $14 and made in a glass the size of a thimble
Hi greggm: Thank you for your feedback, and I am real sorry there more items that fell short, than items that were enjoyed during your recent visit with your wife. :/ We appreciate you letting us know these details, and I would love the chance to make up for the disappointing halibut, service & drinks this time. That said, I will send you a DM with my email address in hopes to touch base further about your review & experience. -Amy
Beautiful, sweet soul server. Food was great per usual. Only thing I wish is the donut to be warmed up but other than that, it was a great experience for me and my homegirl.
Nice experience eating outside. Salads were good
Thank you for sharing this with us. We appreciate it, and hope to have you back sometime soon. -Amy
The staff, the atmosphere, the food, the service; everything is absolutely and wonderfully amazing. I will come back again!
They added 4% to the check as a COVID tax - PPE is a cost of doing business. Also under the guise of helping unemployed staff. I don’t like being told how to contribute.
Now the food. My lamb chops were well overcooked. The menu stated 4 chop rack, I got theee, a double and a single. When the new plate arrives, it was cooked prior, but again, not a rack, but 2 double chops.
No one came back until I was done, no additional apologies, no concessions.
I won’t return to this location.
By the way, I manage a top rated restaurant in Bethesda Maryland.
I am very sorry for the disappointments with your visit, and feel terrible we dropped the ball with the preparation of the Lamb Chops ordered, as well as failed to come full circle with our mistake before you left. :( This said, I would love to turn this around and will send you a DM with my email address. -Amy
Mediocre food and waiter. Filthy patio, food stains, food, trash, and flies! Inside was filthy too. Floors needed vacuuming and scrubbing. The whole place was not sanitized for covid protection and then they charge $.76 pandemic surcharge. North Dakota farmers would be ashamed of the place. And more upsetting, I had given my children a gift certificate of $100 for their anniversary which they haven’t used yet, and will have to disclose this dump. Someone is not being held accountable. Will not recommend to anyone for their health sake.
Thank you, Susan for sharing your review with us, but most importantly, reaching out to us directly to give us a chance to address and acknowledge our shortcomings mentioned in your feedback. Again, I am very sorry for the disappointing food, service and of course, ambiance described from your recent visit. This said, I am glad we connected and hope I was able to turn around the embarrassment we unfortunately left you with, and make this right for you & your guests. -Amy
We had a lovely evening on their terrace . The steak and blue cheese salad was amazing!
Wish the had a choice rather than having to get the all you can eat for brunch
Great restaurant a little pricey but kind of worth it
The risotto was very good and the prime rib had good flavor but the portion of the prime rib was paper thin. The serving at Jackson's is as good but more substantial in terms of portion. Service was generally good, but item was double charged, even though the manager indicated she would take it off the check. It took couple of tries and it was corrected.
Good Evening CWMOON: Thank you for sharing your review with our team, and I am so sorry the portion of the Prime Rib fell short & our team had a lapse in communication surrounding an offer our Manager had made. We greatly appreciate you bringing this to light and will surely make a point to follow up with our full staff that worked on 9/6 about your feedback. Of course, we hope to have you back for another try soon, and please call us 703-442-8783 for any reservation help needed. -Amy
We were not told this but due to Covid, maybe, we waited 55 mins before our food was delivered after sitting at our table. Our waitress looked harassed and we had requests for more drinks, water, etc that did not get fulfilled for up to 20 mins. The food was good but just that good, not great. The fried chicken and donut was dry and my wife had one serving of fried chicken that was more skin than chicken. I had the pork loin on cornbread stuffing. It was flavorful but the pork was overdone and there were no collard greens that I could see. We were really surprised. We want to give it the benefit of the doubt this time around.
Matt, thank you for your review and I am very sorry for the multiple disappointments with the service & food served during your visit with your wife on 9/06. This said, I would really love the chance to follow up about what you shared and hopefully turn this around! I will send you a DM with my email address and look forward to touching base soon. -Amy
