Fox & Hounds Barley
An outstanding Sunday roast, well worth travelling for. Possibly the best Sunday roast in Cambridgeshire. We WILL be back!!
Jackie and Barry
Had a wonderful evening, with amazing food. Thank you.
Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Not enough vegetarian options especially on set lunch menu.
we will return! ...................................,
First time we'd visited and we'll be back. Food was delicious, venue was comfy and relaxed, clean and not craped. Service was friendly and courteous. Great people make a great place.
An enjoyable evening with great food, service and atmosphere.
We will be back. Get booking people👍🏻
First visit and we will certainly go back. Big menu, wide ranging wine list and excellent service. Impressive decor, but, more important, a welcoming atmosphere and a lovely experience. Thank you.
Brought my team from work and we had a really lovely evening, the food was great, the wine was fab, my only complaint was, although I've eaten at the Fox & Hounds a few times now and the service has been amazing - this time it wasn't, it was a bit grumpy and not very smiley :-(
Will return ASAP
Amazing tasting food, which was cooked to how we asked for it. Good service even though it was busy as they had an event outside. Friendly staff and lovely looking restaurant.
Excellent menu selection. Menus changes on every visit this is my fourth visit never disappoints. First class food quality beautifully presented. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Look forward to next visit.
We arrived early but were instantly shown to our table. The food and wine were of an excellent quality and we both enjoyed our meals very much. Have already recommended The Fox and Hounds to a couple of different people and will not hesitate in going again.
We had such a lovely evening; the food and service were impeccable. Thanks ever so much. We hope to be back soon.
Can’t recommend highly enough
Overall the experience was good. The staff were very friendly and efficient however the food was very salty and there was no was the cups were triple cooked. They were more like over sized french fries which spoilt the taste experience. I would have thought more of them if they’d told us they’d run out as all bar 1 in our party had fish and chips. How can you go wrong cooking chips!!!! It was about average for a “pub” meal but the staff made up for what was lacking in the food.
Great Sunday roast with melt in the mouth beef. The service was attentive but not overly fussy. Really enjoyable Sunday afternoon.
Delicious food in relaxing surroundings
A great place to celebrate our anniversary
What a gem of a place Great food great service they could not do enough for us Thanks for a lovely afternoon
Really enjoyable evening, thank you. Lovely environment, interesting and imaginative and very tasty food, and excellent service
The food out performs the pub. Truly fantastic food, really very very good.
Good service, friendly staff, food was good but a bit on the expensive side for the portion size.
Great wine, great staff. Newly refurbished and nicely done. Food is good. We had burgers which were huge!! Not the best burger - more thought required into presentation, ingredients and cooking rather that size perhaps? We’ll be back to sample the rest of the menu and wine list though!
Eat at the Fox last week, very impressed with the interior, the food was excellent. The service was very good lots of waiting staff only too happy to help.
I will definately come again,
This is the third time we have been now and we have not been disappointed.
Went for my wife’s birthday last week, very warm welcome and tasteful decor,
very good service, we were made most welcome. food was fine and enjoyable, perhaps could have done with a little more roast beef. we thought that it was expensive for what it was.
First time visit and very impressed. Traditional pub but with quite a large patio/garden area. Friendly, attentive staff with food well above the average pub fare.
A great place to have lunch or dinner. Food is creative and good. Staff are getting there.... nice location and setting
All good would recommend that was my first visit I will rebook again nice atmosphere friendly service.
4 of us went for lunch, staff very attentive, food selection very good, wine excellent . Would definitely go again, maybe for evening.
Had a great meal here , food was delicious, the steak tasted amazing , and the dinky doughnuts were fab , the service was above and beyond our young waitress was lovely .. will be recommending to my friends and family ... our new favourite place to go
A fabulous pub - so deserving of its recent awards nominations. Been here several times now and had fantastic food, lovely service and love the chilled out vibe. Totally recommend!
I want the F&H to do well. Having closed a while ago, it is important that it has reopened.
It has been tastefully refurbished, and I particularly like the French windows opening onto the patio.
There are plenty of staff and they are all trying hard to please, but their inexperience was evident. It took half an hour to bring us two beers and a carafe of wine, and despite noting it was our son’s birthday, that wasn’t mentioned again
The kitchen is open plan, giving a focus to the room. But the alarms constantly going off were annoying.
Starters were good. I enjoyed the crab on toast although the toast was hard work.
I had the lamb rump, shoulder & kidney. I like kidney, but this tasted like a stable. The dish was served in a bowl of broth, oddly. The meals should have come with some vegetables- I had to steal chips and mash from the others to complete my dish. The burgers can only be well done- why?
The ales were good, although the waitress had to call for back up to tell me what they had.
Comforting treacle tart for pud, served with plenty of clotted cream.
I had a partial refund for the disappointing lamb, so fair play.
The meal was expensive really and not very substantial, although inventive.
Please get it together- I want to be able to come back.
A good range of innovative and imaginative dishes priced to give a 70% net profit. I did not need to be constantly reminded by a very attentive male member of staff what dessert to have (obviously his favourite) and it was a shame the American beer was not available as advertised. I don't know how they're going to manage parking wise in the Summer as although they have 40 + covers outside there's nowhere near enough space for cars when eating in the building itself. I liked the fact that the kitchen was fully exposed and that the chefs were able to see the customers. Remarks by the same male waiter about the "Tronque" were completely out of order in public. They should have a set service charge.
Lovely to have this recently reopened pub nearby, small tasty menu and pleasant surroundings. Friendly, helpful staff.
A nice pub restaurant, modern and family friendly. Food was good could have been hotter, but a minor point. Had the feeling that we were being rushed but perhaps they wanted more covers being Fathers Day. A good experience overall but nothing exceptional.
I think that this place has only recently opened / re-opned- we really enjoyed it. Staff and training still need to catch up - food wwas good. Garden needs a bit of care and attention.
Excellent and innovative food served in a lovely atmosphere. No loud music, what a relief! Delicious wine too. A great meal out and worth it.
This is our second visit and I thought the food was not as good as before then starters every one liked but no one was pleased with the mains. Last there was specials this time none
I don't know what's happened because i was really enthused the first time and gave great recommendations to friends
High quality food top end. Excellent menu selection. Excellent wine list.
Comfortable country decor friendly staff.
Thank you all visited twice this week!
