At Frankie & Benny’s, you get what you pay for. The food is very reasonably priced, and with that in mind, it’s good food. We had the BBQ chicken wings to start. They were coated in a generous helping of sauce, and tasted great. For the main meal, we had pizza and hot dog. I particularly enjoyed my goats cheese pizza, although was a little disappointed by the red onion still being raw in places. The waiter was very friendly and enthusiastic whilst at the table, but service was pretty slow. (The waiter repeatedly apologised for this, but gave no explanation regarding the cause). We had to chase our drinks order. It also took quite a while for the food to come out. We thought we had plenty of time for coffee before our trip to the cinema, but then found ourselves asking to pay the bill as soon as the drinks came out, because we were concerned it would take too long otherwise. Overall, a pleasant experience.
After booking a table well in advance, arrived at the restaurant to be told we didn’t have a booking. We were then placed at a table and a waiter, who can’t speak or understand English, took our drinks order. Having placed the drinks order, we waited in anticipation for it to arrive, when the wine and beer arrived there was one beer short. Having waited we then had to go to the front and ask for it. The waiter then got totally confused and brought more beer than was requested anyway that was sorted. We order the spicy wings that is advertised with a blue cheese dipping and of course get told there is no blue cheese dipping . The main meal seemed to go off without problems. However, we had to continually ask for the empty glasses to be removed to make place for the plates. Then we get to dessert where a restaurant doesn’t have cream to make an Irish Coffee. So all in all Frankie & Benny will not see us there again.
