Freight Yard Pub
We always wanted the Freight Yard Pub to cater to all different types of people. “It’s like a mixing pot of people,” says owner Colleen Taylor. “Where else can one see so many different walks of life in one place be so comfortable and at ease. It’s because they all know they are welcome here.”
Say hello when you come in. We are Sean and Colleen Taylor, Brother and Sister. We grew up in the northern Berkshires and started working together in high school. Our front of the house manager, Malinda, has been with us for many years and recently married Sean. Please, welcome her to our family, too.
This is our passion. We are glad that you are here.

Great burgers. Cooked to order. Numerous craft brews on tap. Service very responsive. All very positive.
Ate outside on patio. This is underneath a highway overpass. So while the decor is nice and the building historic, the highway....
Seemed like there was a disregard for Covid restrictions as we were seated across from a party of at least 15 people, and they were allowing people to congregate inside the entryway without any distancing.
Poor service . We cannot comment on the food. We made reservations on Open Table only to find that the restaurant had no available seats for us. We needed to wait 45 minutes. We chose another place.
Food was fine not memorable. Waitress pretty much ignored us. Noisy because of constant train traffic. If dining in a switching yard is on your bucket list--go for it!
Service was excellent and food was great we would come back
Food is always good at FYP. O enjoy eating here a few times a month. Steak tips are delicious. And the scallops my boyfriend got he enjoyed very much.
Took our 3 kids there for lunch after hiking Mt Greylock - it was a gorgeous day to sit outside. The fire pit was cracking and a slow moving train was sliding by on the other side of the privacy fence which we all loved. Food was great. Our waitress was great. We will definitely be back.
Made reservations beforehand to come in and check this place out after hiking up Mount Greylock. It was a party of 2 and we ordered drinks, some appetizers, food and dessert. The place was a bit busy, but it was a Friday night. The waitress was somewhat inattentive and did not introduce themselves when they came and took our order. The drinks were good and the food arrived fast. The peanut butter and banana burger was fantastic, but the wings were underwhelming. Overall, the place was good and have good COVID restrictions in place. Would possibly try it again if in the area.
Great burger place, good service, nice old pub style converted mill building.
It was great.
Always have a great time, the staff go above and beyond always. We love it.
We’ve dined here many times over the years whenever we are in town. While it’s always been solid, in the past couple of years they have really elevated their food quality, variety, and service.
For the area, the prices may seem slightly high at first glance, but the portions are huge, and the food is high quality that is perfectly cooked. Even the veggies, which many places overcook, are cooked perfectly- crisp, yet tender.
We had a party of 8 on this and on our last visit to town in November. On both occasions the food was served promptly and everyone’s meal arrived piping hot.
I’d strongly recommend this location for a visit any time you find yourself in The North Adams area. The only thing to keep in mind is that there is limited seating when the weather doesn’t allow patio seating. If u plan to dine there it would be wise to make a recommendation to ensure u have a seat.
Good food, tables well-spaced with plexiglass partitions between them. Good service. Nice place.
Food was tasty and fresh!
We love everything about this place. The food is amazing and everyone is always so friendly. For a pub I would not call it loud at all. In the summer even with all the bikers it’s super nice. Worth the wait in line. We did a reservation before we left home. That’s the way to go. Thank you Freight Yard Pub!! We really enjoy! Keep up the great work!!!!!!
Dinner was good. Everything came out quick and just as we ordered it.
Or waitress Sarah was great. We would go back again just because of her.
Job well done!
The staff was really friendly, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was laid-back. Definitely worth the trip!
Amazing food for a great price. Also people are always friet
We had a horrible time. And the food was terrible
We had a wonderful lunch there. Great service. Friendly. Good family menu. Great beer selection.
Its pub food. Not the worst experience I've had. It was a Saturday night so the place was jumping. They have live entertainment. The parking situation sucks. I recommend going around 7:30 when you might get lucky and find a space.
We appreciated that they offered indoor dining during the pandemic and kept their restaurant very clean. They’ve kept tables at a far enough distance, along with the use of plexiglass so we felt safe celebrating our daughter’s birthday, along with having 2 babies in our group.
Had a very relaxing evening at the Freight Yard. The food was great and I felt safe being there.
Food was excellent , great atmosphere outside , service was great and we were just in time for the band which played great music. Overall an excellent experience! Highly recommend!
Seated immediately at reservation time, despite a large waiting line. Service was prompt, attentive, and enthusiastic. Food was delivered hot, delicious and as ordered. VERY impressed with safety protocols in place...plexi dividers, sanitizer available, masked server. Always happy with service and menu !
Very good, food was good service was good , large menu and deep Bar
Next time we are in the area I will go back without hesitation
Great place and great food! We sat outside in the courtyard, which was set up really nicely! They also had a heated tent which held a few tables. Inside, they also had good markings and distance or plexiglass separating tables.
Great experience, had my five-year-old granddaughter with me felt safe spacing was provided. I had left my credit card and got a call from the restaurant as soon as I walked into my motel room. Went back the next day no problem retrieving it.
Desiree was awesome! We had a great time with her. Food was great too! Next time we are in the area we will sure come visit!
Couldn’t speak to the actual dining experience since I couldn’t get past the POOR customer service received while trying to get seated. I had made reservations online and upon arrival and unlike many places, there was NO ONE to greet you. They were clearly slammed. The couple waiting in front of me proceeded to stop someone walking by who then spoke to ‘his supervisor’ who had been seated with another employee behind a post. Despite what was happening, they were busy folding utensils into napkins. Like I’d said, there was no one posted at the host stand. He came back, apologizing to the couple in front of me saying that it was his first day and despite them having a reservation (like I did), it’ll be an additional 30 minute wait. He never gave me eye contact nor had he acknowledged my presence. He then walked away.
Meanwhile outside, a long line had started to form. Still no one came to acknowledge or speak to any of the people waiting. I then went over to the supervisor and demanded that she assist me. She proceeded to tell me calmly that I had been spoken to already. When I explained that I hadn’t, she then begrudgingly asked for my name and number in my party and walked away to get back to folding utensils into napkins.
They were clearly overwhelmed by the number of incoming customers! But instead of handling the situation, by acknowledging and assuring, management decided they would ignore the situation. Which was obviously ludicrous.
It was a bit chaotic when we arrived. However the food and service made it worth the wait. The food was delicious, the server was attentive to us, and we look forward to going back. I highly recommend booking with an open table reservation though to avoid long waits (potentially).
Was our second visit. Had come the night before liked It & returned..... limited choices due to COVD but return anytime you will enjoy
Chilli, soup, fries, and green beans, were cold.
Great meal. Service was good. We both had dish and chips. Best in Berkshire County
Way to expensive almost $10 for 4 sodas, was there 6 months ago and prices where not bad will not be going back. Service was great noise level was terrible.
2 meals were served with the wrong sides
The wait staff as well as Sean, the owner, were all outstanding..... super friendly! We were a party of 6 and everyone loved their meals. A must eat at if in North Adams.
Great Outdoor dining in North Hampton. The food and the service were both very good!
They were able to accommodate a party of 5 adults and 2 babies on a rather short-notice. The outside seating area was very nice
Great service and the burger and sandwich was very nice. They have both in and out seating which is very nice. A good beer menu too.
