Sad to see it close. It was a great brunch.
Sad to see this place go. The food was great as well as the service.. Ed is the best!
So sad this place is closing ! Wonderful food, great wine list, and a awesome patio. This neighborhood spot will be missed
Catch it while you can! This awesome place closes for good Sunday, 7/28. The food is delicious, ambiance is great and staff are friendly and professional. Sorry to see them go!
What a great spot! The food was well executed and delicious, the staff was friendly, and the overall ambience is really cool. The bavette steak and eggs was a home run dish. This will definitely be in our regular rotation from now on!
Been here before for dinner and liked brunch even more. We will be back. 100% recommend.
We had truly the best server/service experience we had ever had. So kind and attentive yet also relaxed and happy to give us space to chill and relax at the table. My large group all expressed the next day that we really did think it was the best experience we'd ever had at a restaurant. Thank you!
We loved our brunch experience here! The food was good, the atmosphere was great, and the mimosa bar was a fun element. Would definitely recommend checking out. We racked up quite the tab but enjoyed it so it's good for a special treat.
After rebranding The Bird into Frenchy’s Naturel, I’ve been eager to see the changes. The service was excellent and the decor sublime. However, I was a bit disappointed in the food — the delux burger was messy and the prime sirloin dry. Although, flavors were rich and intense. Good wine selections too!
Sat outside so so can’t really give an idea of ambience or noise level, but food and service were great. Mimosa carafe came with a full carafe of champagne and sides of fruit purée so the value is great since you’re not getting a carafe of orange juice with a little champagne. The food was also really great- everyone at the table raved about the buttermilk chicken sandwich. I had their croque madame and it was phenomenal. Highly recommend this place for a nice casual brunch with great food.
Brought a guest here for what was my second visit (initially recommended by a friend of a friend). Loved the vibe and the relaxed, casual atmosphere. We arrived just as it opened for brunch on Fri, 4 July For holiday—lucky us since brunch is normally only Sat/Sun. We both had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Benedict. It was as wonderful and tasty as I remembered the first time I had it. There was an animated group of four seated right next to us, but sound level was fine. The restaurant was out of peach nectar and one other flavor as well, so we had raspberry mimosas instead, which I actually think I liked better. Server was a bit perfunctory in her service, but it didn’t detract from the overall experience. Very much looking forward to going back.
We had a group of 9 people and they were able to accommodate us the day before a holiday! And we had a great time. They had a bottomless mimosa brunch special, which paired great with their fried chicken Benedict. Our server was so patient with our group!
It's cute, it has good beignets. The food was okay, but the service was great.
I have to admit I was blown away by the steak frites here! Got the basic flat iron steak, but it was tender and flavorful (and comes with three sauces)! And the frites are as good as any I've had in Paris! Plus you can get "bottomless" fries! They also do an amazing chocolate pot de creme! Finally, the pricing is a bargain--got away with dinner for two with a bottle of wine for under $150. That's practically impossible to do in DC for a meal as good as this was! The only downside is that the wines by the glass are spotty. Make sure you try one before ordering a full glass, otherwise you might be disappointed!
Great service, ok food. Steak was well prepared but stringy. For the same price as Le Diplomate, you’re better off there. French fries were delicious but tasted identical to McDonalds. Not a complaint, as who doesn’t love McDonalds fries, but not very unique. Burger was great, salads were great!
Great meal in a neighborhood spot! Found this place after a long conference, and it was the best place to unwind and savor delicious food. Thank you.
Waited 20 minutes after being seated for a drink. Food was mediocre — overpriced considering the quality.
We were the first party in the restaurant at 10:00 am and sat on the patio. Our beignets came out promptly and were delicious. Unfortunately, we waited for 40 minutes for our egg dishes and gave up. They comped is for the beignets and apologized.
Burger was great!
That was the weirdest dining experience I've had in a long time. The food came out at random times; the cheese plate did not have the cheese that our waitress said it would; the drinks took 40 minutes to arrive; the servers kept trying to take away our plates when they still had food on them. Oh - and they had no idea how to make a Kir Royale. A Kir Royale! A drink that originated in FRANCE, and is made with just two ingredients! What?! Just odd, odd, odd. The food itself was fine, but after waiting for forever for anything to arrive, we just wanted to get out of there. Ugh. Would not recommend, and will not go back.
I absolutely love coming here. Amazing happy hour that is every day of the week and includes the patio. Bonus they allow dogs on their patio and were so nice - even gave my bb a big bowl of water and a treat. Food is also great - the steaks are always cooked to perfection and the deviled eggs are a good app/happy hour small plate. If you get the burger on happy hour it is an awesome deal. My only complaint is that it was a bit busy and so our drinks came a little late but that said the drinks are great - the rose sangria, eldeflower old fashioned, and frenchie's sparkling drinks are some of my favorites. My new go to place any day of the week this summer.
Really good steaks and love the bottomless fries!
Everything thing was great the bartender who was also the waiter did great
The back/upper patio has a gorgeous view of the neighborhood and nice evening light. The happy hour options are delicious (and cheap) and the cocktails were delectable.
Such an amazing neighborhood vibe! The food is great and the service is superb!
Our service was spectacular and we loved the atmosphere, but everyone in our group was disappointed in the food. The waffles were soggy and flavorless , and the burger was burnt. Even when I asked for it to be cooked medium rare, I received it burnt on the outer side. I had to scrap it away.
The staff were great and so were the food (esp. brunch) and drinks. Definitely recommend dining upstairs and on the terrace.
Brunch was delicious and very friendly staff! Would go back!
The steak was mediocre and a rat ran under our table as well as other tables and into a bush. Service was not great with not a lot of check-ins. Fries are tasty!
Just over all, not a great experience. Makes me miss The Bird!
Waited for 30 mins past our reservation time to be seated. Then once we were seated we were not greeted or even provided water for almost 10 mins. After waiting that long we were frustrated and no one seemed to care or even apologize for any delays or anything.
My friends and I had never been here and don't really venture out of our quadrant. We loved this place, the food, and the ambience was great for a birthday brunch. We will all be back!
I’ll never come back here. The food is unbelievably overpriced, the service was terrible (it took us 45 minutes to get drinks and another hour to get our entrees) and the food was just okay. Not worth the time or money
It's a very low key fun place. Good food and great, attentive service.
Plenty of outdoor seating. Enjoyed rooftop patio very much. Service great except hosting seemed frazzled and reported me a no show to open table! Maybe just short staffed.
Been a few times under the new ownership and absolutely love the menu, ambiance, and overall vibe. I invited my book club to the restaurant and they said they were ready to return the next day for brunch (that's how awesome the experience was).
The bartender, Eddie, provided exceptional service and tasty drinks for our table.
Loved the mimosa bar and the food was excellent. Omelette was perfectly cooked and the beignets were to die for.
Nice cocktails, great burgers and steaks, and amazing veggies (artichokes, peas). The rooftop setup is lovely, and we had great service. We'll definitely be back.
We could not have had a better time for happy hour and then stayed for dinner! Our patio server Christina was gregarious and helpful and then when we moved inside the dream team of Ed and Tony worked there magic and gave us one of the nicest dinner experiences. Would highly recommend !!
The meat was quite tough to cut and to chew. When you are a French Bistro with steak frites, the steak should be better.
This location had an interesting menu; however, the wait staff and hostess turned me off almost immediately upon walking into the location.
I liked the interior, it was funky which was nice; however, there was not great vibe in the space. Given that there was only one other table on the same level as us for dinner, we felt forgotten and when the servers did come back to the floor (despite there being people at the far end bar) it appeared to be a chore.
The food was OK - nothing really remarkable. They tried to sell some sort of "experience" with unlimited fries, but I still have no idea what that was.
I will not be returning to this location, and strongly recommend anyone else to critically think about eating here.
