The food was excellent however we felt the service let them down . We tried on numerous occasions to get the attention of a waiter or waitress- not one made eye contact or acknowledged us. One waiter was on his mobile phone in the restaurant which I have never seen before. Even paying after getting the bill took time.

We had a romantic Sunday lunch at Fucina in Marylebone. The restaurant opened a couple of years ago and the room is still superb. There is an olive tree in the middle and the whole place is just interestingly decorated. Mediterranean style.

Now the rest of the experience was good, but I would argue that Fucina is a pretty expensive place and I am not entirely sure about the value proposition. Service was fine, nice waiter albeit when we asked for suggestions we were not blown away. As far as the food is concerned, ingredients were clearly of top quality, but we thought every dish was quite classic. Very nice, but a bit too classic and lacking originality, especially at this price.

So to summarise, a nice lunching experience, you will spend a good time, but I think maybe a bit too pricey.

Good location for quick business lunch. Sadly my starter consisted of stale bread. I pointed this out and received a free Espresso. Somewhat noisy due to roadworks (not their fault). Have been before and will go back. LOVE the big olive tree inside the reataurant.

Exquisite Italian foods- the crab linguine excellent, a veal chop that would happily parade in any brilliant restaurant in Italy. Good but quite pricey wine list.

Booked a table for 18.30 and from the moment we entered the whole process was rushed. We ordered cocktails, with nibbles and they wanted to take our food order as they served the cocktails, starter turned up within minutes. We order a wine they uncorked and offer us to try the wine but we were in the middle of cocktails still so declined. Mains were served shortly after starters were cleared , wine poured and they continually topped up glasses as each waiter passed often without us taking a sip. Desserts were delivered again within minutes of finishing the main even after requesting a break. The restaurant wasn’t busy so I really do not understand the rush. Great food nice decor but waiters really let us down with a very disinterested attitude. This spoilt a very special occasion. Very disappointed

A beautiful interior and thats about where it starts and stops. Truly awful service and unimaginative food. Booked for valentines and got there and a very beautiful interior. Sat down and the table next to us was having an argument with the waiter complaining about the service! Not a great start. We asked our waiter (who barely spoke english) if he had any specials for vegetarians and he just pointed at the menu as if we were stupid and unable to read. We ordered our food and when it came, the courgette fries and broccoli were stone cold. We called over a waiter who could speak english and he spoke to us in the most patronising manner advising us that it is all flash fried and meant to be cold and that's how it comes?! He refused to make a "hot" version. My wife's pasta was just plain hard (not al-dente) and my BBQ fish was flavourless and when the dessert came, was pretty much thrown down on the table. . No-one to ask at any stage as to how is your meal, or can I get you some more drink. Zero magic in this place, zero courtesy, and to top it all, no-one to help us find our coats that were put away on arrival and had to go and get them ourselves. So a £105 bill for 2 and worth no more than the food at a local cafe. It transpired that the table next to us argued that they wanted the service knocked off and I stupidly didn't do this. Avoid like the plague!

I went to Fucina on a Saturday afternoon. Even though the interior is lovely (and really makes you feel like being in Italy), the cushions of the seats were full of stains, the food was cold and the pasta undercooked. Some staff was friendly, others couldn't care less.

100% wouldn't recommend.

This was one of the worst and most embarrassing dining experiences ever! I invited some friends to dinner here based on the fact I received an email from the restaurant for a 4 course meal and a glass of Laurent Perrier champagne for £50. The email said that all we had to was quote "ITALIANCHRISTMAS" on the booking. We turned up and were given menus and no mention of the special offer so we obviously told the waiter and well, it turned into a massive pallava with the manager calling another manager to see if they could arrange it for us because we had not informed them in advance! They told us we had to have called in advance, the instructions on the OpenTable booking were not taken note of. Can you imagine if we had put something important about needing accessibility, or mentioned allergies - which by the way, the waiter did not ask us about. Eventually they offered us a glass of prosecco as compensation. We moved on and ordered starters of bean and truffle soup, burrata, calamari and beef carpaccio. Burrata had an odd sickly sweet sauce with it and the calamari was bone dry. We moved onto the main, my veal T-bone with peppercorn was delicious but the rest of the dishes left a lot to be desired. The beef ragu was alright but £22 for a pasta dish that is just ok is outrageous. But the worst ones were the duck and the pork were bone dry, we really regretted not sending them back because my friend asked for some more jus with her duck because it was so dry and they just bought her the a bowl of beans! Even worse, we realised the next day they charged us £8 for that!!! The bill came to 75 each and there is a lot better restaurants for that price. Our waiter was also mostly absent for our meal with our plates sitting around for ages after we finished eating. We were too embarrassed to complain because we felt bad about the kerfuffle at the beginning but we definitely wished we had in hindsight. Restaurant is style over substance and should be avoided at all costs!

Sadly it was a disappointment,
Cold calamari, pasta undercooked and ameture, waitresses didn’t offer us side that were included in set menu we had to ask after seeing others with them. Inattentive staff and a empty bored atmosphere. Shame as restaurant looked like it had huge potential.

The food came cold. It was not hot at all. The food lacked taste. It was very plain in taste and was quite expensive so I expected more. One meal that I ordered, the bone marrow risotto, I couldn’t even bring myself to eat it because it was way too salty. I’m so upset because the bill was £80 and I didn’t enjoy a single meal.

I have been to Fucina for lunch and loved it so took two other people on the evening of the 17th December. The food was good this time - but not as good as at lunchtime. The restaurant was busy so the service was a little more abrupt than at the quieter lunch. What made the evening not work was a (very good) small choir that sang carols and seasonal songs to us but about 3 metres from the table. This made conversation very tricky, especially as instead of singing for 10 minutes on and 10 minutes off the choir sang for two extended periods of time throughout our entire meal. It felt someone was being more thoughtful of the choir and the customers. But...I will go again as my first visit was very good.

The ambience is lovely. A nice spacious restaurant.
The starters were delicious. We made a mistake with our main course - the seafood platter. The fish was luke warm/ cold. We asked for it to be replaced and it was the same second time round.

In fairness to the restaurant they offered to exchange the seafood platter for something else which we did.

Overall a good experience. I would recommend the restaurant but not the seafood platter!
