Fuego at Fenwick Newcastle
Set within the stunning Fenwick Food Hall, Fuego is a Mediterranean-inspired wine bar and restaurant. Here you can enjoy a light snack or full meal from a menu ranging from Mediterranean tapas and dishes to Fuego’s signature offering, Napoli style hand-stretched pizzas.
The name ‘Fuego’ was inspired by the feature wood stone oven, from which many of the restaurant’s dishes are delivered. As well as being influenced by this striking focal point the menu also draws inspiration from the Food Hall’s inherent focus on charcuterie, cheese and delicatessen.
Guests can expect to find an extensive drinks menu that includes a choice of 20 wines by the glass thanks to a state of the art wine preservation system, specialist craft beers from European artisan producers and chic aperitifs such as an Aperol Spritz or a Hugo.
vegetables, salads, olives and guindilla peppers
manchego, parmigiano, gorgonzola, taleggio and monte enebro
piquillo peppers, sundried tomato and chilli
The food is wonderful; really inventive, especially the vegetarian options. Thorough recommended.
Food was lovely shame the miserable and cheeky staff spoilt my meal. Poor management all round.
Great restaurant serving fantastic food! Definitely be back
Excellent for lunch - interesting small plates, good selection of wines by the glass, friendly efficient service.
Lovely lunch experience, not rushed, good choice of food. Will definitely lunch there again.
Had a lovely lunch as usual at Fuego’s.
The atmosphere has changed a little due to social distancing but still the same friendly helpful staff and great food.
A lovely relaxed mid week lunch. We love Fuego's, food is ALWAYS good, and its in our favourite shop Fenwicks. We had a charcuterie board and a cheese board to share with bread and olives - our perfect lunch, topped with a glass of wine each.
Staff were friendly and in this Covid world, we felt very safe. Highly recommended!
Good food as usual.
Fabulous as always, great service from Andy
Classic Med food ... Large plates and small - for one person or as tapas for sharing. Food is exceptional and can highly recommend the pizza margarita with the thinnest of bases! Yummy!! Drinks are expensive but large selection of gins and excellent wines. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. My go to restaurant when in town - and by the buzz in the room - it's many other people's too!
Would definitely recommend.
Excellent food great atmosphere definitely recommend when in Newcastle, possibly now my favourite place to eat in the city.
Regularly come here for Saturday lunch. Staff always very welcoming and attentive but not too much. Food usually great but needs a new menu. For these difficult times social distancing works very well with plenty of space. Overall still our go to place to eat when in Newcastle.
We had a lovely meal, all the tapas was beautiful and nothing took too long to arrive. The staff were lovely and very friendly.
Lovely food friendly staff great vibe. Drinks a little expensive £7.70 + £2.40 got my friends gin and tonic. Bottle house wine £22 not to bad but it drinks Bill was more than our food. They also add 10% discretionary charge which you can take off bill. Overall enjoyed our time in the restaurant and will definitely return.
Always fantastic at Fuegos. Just love the experience.
Lovely service. Good great and good value with the Prosecco and pizza offer. We will visit again soon 😊
Great menu choice, lovely setting, fantastic food and great service
A really lovely experience dining at Fuego. Food & service outstanding. We felt really safe and looked well looked after. We will most definitely returning. Thank you.
Fantastic service. Lovely pleasant and helpful staff. Fab food and drink. Always a pleasure to visit here
We had a fantastic meal at Fuego and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The staff were all amazing and really attentive, especially as my daughter has a peanut allergy. The food was delicious. A great experience all round.
Always superb. The place to go in Newcastle, very central into the bargain.
Mix and match menu of well-presented food; good service and atmosphere
Very nice ..
They did know it was our wedding Anniversary but we did not receive anything I thought something complimentary would have been a nice gesture.
Friendly service efficient
Variety of tapas all delicious
We had a fab lunch at Fuego. We had the pizza and fizz offer - it was really good value and the pizza’s were delicious! Staff were extremely accommodating with highchairs, a large table and space for pushchairs. It was COVID safe, and the service was excellent as always. Highly recommend.
Excellent food and service. Value was great as we took advantage of £10 pizza and drink offer
Delicious food as always & excellent service. I think the prices have gone up sadly which makes it less affordable as a lunch stop but still a great place.
Pleasant location within the food hall area. Staff very efficient and attentive. Food was nicely presented and tasted excellent. Sharing paella could maybe have been more generous in size but the taste was lovely.
We love Fuego restaurant, sitting at the bar counter watching everything that's going on. Service is good, always make you feel very welcome.
Theres been a recent change to the menu, not sure that were as keen on it but still some of the old favourites there to entice you!
Amazing food and service Prices a little on the high side
Love a girls afternoon at Feugo, staff are so lovely. Food is delicious too. Always a good experience. Thank you 😊
Enjoyed meeting a friend. Had a bottle of rose, sat at the bar. Lovely atmosphere, and were able to catch up and chat. No issues at all . Plenty of hand sanitizer on the bar and around .
Lovely food but very noisy
Must try the pizza next time it looks good
We received a very warm welcome, the food arrived promptly and did not disappoint. We were all in agreement about the fried chicken it was outstanding!!
Waited a while for my first drink and that is the first complaint( in over 5 years) I have had. As usual everything was excellent . The staff are a joy and as they seem able to retain their core of workers so they must be getting something really right.
Fabulous lunch with my daughter
We enjoyed a very pleasant lunch with friends. The quality of service and food was very good and the restaurant has a ‘nice’ feel. This is not our first visit to this restaurant and will not be our last. We would certainly recommend this restaurant.
Really disappointed by our Fuego experience. Travelled over 2 hours by train to meet up with my sister for lunch. We’re both nurses so we haven’t seen each other for ages due to COVID pressures. Was very upset by the service we received from a very sullen and surly waitress. My son politely asked her a question about what was in a certain dish and she was very sarcastic. We asked for water which never arrived. We asked for sugar for the coffee and that arrived after the coffee had gone cold and we had drank it. You must be thinking the place was busy....there were only TWO other tables in use and 3 waiting staff and front of house manager. Our server just could not be bothered and clearly didn’t mind letting us know. Will definitely not be going back. Was sad that this spoilt my reunion with my sister as it is the first time off we have had together since March.
Great ambiance and service- food really good but not cheap
