Fuego at Fenwick Newcastle
Set within the stunning Fenwick Food Hall, Fuego is a Mediterranean-inspired wine bar and restaurant. Here you can enjoy a light snack or full meal from a menu ranging from Mediterranean tapas and dishes to Fuego’s signature offering, Napoli style hand-stretched pizzas.
The name ‘Fuego’ was inspired by the feature wood stone oven, from which many of the restaurant’s dishes are delivered. As well as being influenced by this striking focal point the menu also draws inspiration from the Food Hall’s inherent focus on charcuterie, cheese and delicatessen.
Guests can expect to find an extensive drinks menu that includes a choice of 20 wines by the glass thanks to a state of the art wine preservation system, specialist craft beers from European artisan producers and chic aperitifs such as an Aperol Spritz or a Hugo.
Frequently enjoy a Tapas style lunch here, with a glass or two of wine. The only thing that spoiled it for me and my companion was the constant screaming of a very young infant, over the course of nearly two hours! Unacceptable behaviour on behalf of those fellow adult diners, who didn't think it might be a good idea to leave sooner...perhaps the staff could have had a discreet word? There are several other eateries in Fenwick which might be more appropriate for family dining.
Noise to high and bring back some of your old menu and put some Rioja on your wine list
Food excellent, service brilliant
What more can we say?
Would recommend and a definite regular for lunch
We were shown to our table promptly even though it was really busy and people without reservations queuing. The menu is varied and the wine list reasonably priced.
We had a very good meal and the service was excellent. The ambiance is good. The setting in the marvellous Fenwicks Food Hall along with other restaurants was an excellent idea.
The only downside is that if you need to go to bathroom you have to journey a long way to the other end of store.
We always enjoy eating at Fuego. Staff are very good- attentive and friendly. This time we decided to eat here in advance of the Rugby International at St James Park, as we knew the Fuego team would be able to cope with the rush. As expected, everything went well, including an off-the-menu vegan pizza put together for one of our party, and we were all done in good time for the rugby. Lively atmosphere and great food!
A great place to meet friends and have a light lunch, pizza or several small plates of tapas style food. Fuego offers a wide choice of drinks and serves excellent coffee. Friendly efficient service, and buzzing atmosphere .
Always a great place to meet before the theatre. Excellent tapas and service with a smile. Food was superb, especially the dessert!
High quality tapas and lovely drinks menu. Food served very quickly. All delicious. Staff friendly and efficient
Very much enjoyed our lunch at Fuego. We took advantage of the restaurant week deal, which made it even better value. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back, the food was delicious - particularly the Spanish tortilla, the fish and the desserts if you have room. All in all a wonderful experience! Fenwick’s should try and sort some access to the food hall restaurants out of shopping hours, as I’m sure they would be popular - like Harvey Nicks...
Pre Match lunch excellent tapas and great service from the whole team
This was our second visit and it didn't disappoint. The service is excellent and the food is outstanding. We had pizzas and tapas with cocktails on a Saturday tea time before going to the theatre. We will be back!
The food was excellent value for Restaurant Week, and the service was very good.
Fab staff. Good amazing as always
We had to signal for a member of staff to come and take our order, following people on the next table who arrived after us having their order taken first. We were there on a Saturday evening so not many people around I don't think i would like to be there any earlier when it's really busy as I think the noise levels would be very high. All in all a very nice meal.
Excellent food, served promptly
great service, all the staff are really friendly, the menu is good too, a few more dishes rather than pizza would suit me. Lovely ambiance, this is a regular haunt.
Me and my daughter had lunch before attending The Bodyguard on 24/07/19. The staff were very friendly and professional and the food as always was outstanding. Fuego is our favourite place to eat in Newcastle and for friends/family visiting always highly recommend.
A friend recommended Fuego and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was very chilled and the food was amazing. We had the Grand sharing board and the food was outstanding, totally delicious! We will definitely be back! Will be recommending to all our friends.
Excellent food as always.
Great choice of venue for lunch with a variety of small dishes to choose from, excellent service
Excellent as always, everyone from 9 to 88 years old catered for and a family sharing meal was thoroughly enjoyed!
Very friendly polite staff lvly afternoon . food lush.
Only fault toilets are quite awalk especially if you were elderly but will still go back as loved it very much
Nice interlude after a busy day, lean portions but nice .
Came with a friend for her birthday treat from me. The staff were all lovely - welcomed us at the entrance and were very knowledgeable about the food when we were making our selections.
I had the seared tuna which was delicious my friend had the crab croquettes which were both beautifully served and very tasty!
We treated ourselves (at our waitresses recommendation) to the Portuguese custard tarts and a lovely glass of Sauvignon Blanc - superb!!
All in all a lovely meal well worth the price. Only query I would make is about the 10% service charge - do the staff get this? as I would rather give them a 10% tip myself to make sure they are awarded for their attentiveness and good service.
Good service and excellent food, quite noisy with a large group seated close to us but still enjoyed the experience.
This was my second visit, took my 86 year old mother in law as a birthday treat followed by a visit to The Theatre Royal. Was a bit worried that the food may be a bit too contemporary for her but she absolutely loved it. The staff are lovely and a good atmosphere too. Can't wait to go again!
This was my 4th visit to Fuego & yet again everything was great from start to finish. Lovely staff, lovely food & lovely reasonably priced rose wine. We will definitely be back!
Our group of 4 selected pizzas plus padron peppers- all excellent. One person is a vegan. When we mentioned this, the staff were very helpful and provided an annotated menu. The vegan pizza was customised using vegan cheese and the roasted vegetables that usually go with the bruschetta. Very good dining experience.
Regular customers here 😁 a fab early dinner place Great family evening out Staff always friendly and just attentive enough for comfort Highly recommended
Loved the food, staff were very friendly although our server was very keen to take our order coming 3 times in less than 10 minutes to take our order we just wanted a few moments to chat and look over the menu and was also keen to clear whilst one of our party was still eating. Little irritating but still had a great meal and would certainly go back
Food was served quickly and efficiently. Staff were on point and offered a professional service. Food had good flavour but the only negative was that it was slightly over priced. I would recommend giving it ago and I would dine at Fuego again.
Amazing pizza and tapas especially king prawns. Great service, nice lively atmosphere
Seating was as requested in my booking and the lovely girl who showed us to the table asked about birthday - it’s the little details that make all the difference. Thank you.
Second time here in recent weeks and have to say food was exceptional. We had sharing platter and 7 tapas and each was brilliant. well done Fuego
Good food , friendly atmosphere, good for a relaxed lunch with friends.
Felt rushed was out within 35 minutes. Although staff were polite we were given the bill without asking for it and hadn't finished our drinks. Not an enjoyable experience although the food is lovely and it's my son's favourite place to eat.
Feugo's pizzas are some of the best we have tasted outside of Naples. We liked not having the newly introduced mussels to the Marino pizza - must fresher without them. The pizza base is remarkable. So crispy, yet melt in the mouth and beautifully thin.
Had enjoyable afternoon & were well looked after.
Desserts of one scoop of uninspiring ice cream with ‘posh’ additions, were ridiculously expensive for what was offered. This was a pity when we Had relished the earlier tapas.
Food and wine great, as always. Staff were very attentive and friendly. The downside to this restaurant is there are no toilets adjacent, have to walk through the store to get to them, making the conveniences highly inconvenient!
We love Fuegos so much and are regular diners ... love love love the food the service is outstanding really friendly and attentive staff
