Fuego at Fenwick Newcastle
Set within the stunning Fenwick Food Hall, Fuego is a Mediterranean-inspired wine bar and restaurant. Here you can enjoy a light snack or full meal from a menu ranging from Mediterranean tapas and dishes to Fuego’s signature offering, Napoli style hand-stretched pizzas.
The name ‘Fuego’ was inspired by the feature wood stone oven, from which many of the restaurant’s dishes are delivered. As well as being influenced by this striking focal point the menu also draws inspiration from the Food Hall’s inherent focus on charcuterie, cheese and delicatessen.
Guests can expect to find an extensive drinks menu that includes a choice of 20 wines by the glass thanks to a state of the art wine preservation system, specialist craft beers from European artisan producers and chic aperitifs such as an Aperol Spritz or a Hugo.

Very pleasant ‘escape’ from busy shopping experience. Did complain about curious (unpleasant) taste of pea salad (truffle oil? oil off?) Disappointed serving staff removed uneaten salad but did not action complaint. Paid the full price after which I commented on salad to manager. To his credit he said he would have discounted cost had I told him before paying but was it my responsibility or serving staff?
Outstanding as usual. Food is lush, wine is lush. Highly recommended
Love the bar area , food fabulous as always , service great with friendly faces and prices good .
One of my favourite places to eat and drink
Yes another lovely afternoon service, food & drinks were excellent….Already looking forward to my next visit.
We have always loved Fuego and post lock-down has not failed us. Familiar welcoming faces were there.
Very attentive me staff.
Great food and good service, it’s at the back of the Fenwick store you go in next to the flower stall
If you like tasty food this place is for you
We booked late and had little choice. However the evening was amazing and so pleased that we found ourselves hosted by such a brilliant team.
Thank you to the entire team for such a lovely experience and fantasist food!
I’ll drop my regards to Adam Fenwick to let him know that you represent the family & brand as true ambassadors.
This was our first visit to Fuego and it didn’t disappoint. Lovely surroundings and the food was excellent.
Really enjoyed the whole experience
Great for tapas and fresh food
This was a short-notice booking, prior to visiting the Theatre. The service we received was prompt and helpful. The food was delicious and perfect for our "quick pre-theatre meal".
Such a great restaurant. Fab staff, amazing food and great value for money!
Thank you so much for a perfect way to spend a very special lunch.
Service was faultless, food was amazing and will certainly be looking to book again.
As soon as possible!!
Excellent food and service , really enjoyed our night and plan to return .
Every single plate of food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. We love Fuego.
First visit and didn’t disappoint. Food and service was excellent and will definitely be back.
Consistently well-produced delicious tapas-type food and a very fair wine list. The service is always easy and fun, too.
Amazing. Food outstanding.
Excellent food, friendly and efficient service - its an ideal place to have a really nice meal of as much or little as you fancy eating while out shopping or rubbernecking
The bread sticks were stale and whilst we asked for another basket, a replacement was delivered but it was the same. They seem to have gone soggy at one end when they were arranged in the basket with the other bread (which was fine)
Our main issue is that the waiter was rather abrupt.
We had ordered two glasses of rose wine but only one was brought to us. We said we'd asked for two and were told us that we had not and that we had only ordered one. It was the manner in which this was said.
We also asked which of the vege tapas were most popular and were told that they all were. Again it was the manner of the response.
This was a shame, as although we were slightly amused by the attitude, the restaurant and food were excellent as always.
I regularly visit and brought a friend along for a treat yesterday after making the recommendation.
The food was quite salty, maybe unnecessarily so. The garlic sourdough and Stilton salad were very salty
Excellent food and lovely ambience. One of my favourite places to eat in Newcastle.
Would have been 5* but we turned up 10min early and was turned away. When we returned we were sat on a table that had been free all along?
Food here is absolutely fantastic. Good choice and great ingredients. It remains consistently good despite all the setbacks that have occurred over the past 2 years.
Amazing as always. Made my birthday really special.
Always amazing good and drinks, staff always friendly and professional, my favourite place to go in Newcastle
Had another enjoyable visit to you. I cannot explain why, but I wasn’t as pleased as usual (which I appreciate isn’t helpful)
Exquisite tapas style food rich in flavour and beautifully presented , the service is second to none staff are attentive but not over zealous. It is ideal for people looking for something different , whilst there was a child dining with their family I think it is mores suited to couples or friends meeting . A first class restaurant.
Food was amazing, had a wonderful selection so got to taste lots, all dishes were delicious.
Brilliant as always
Great food , friendly attentive waitress service and lively atmosphere. We eat there often.
Always a great lunch out when shopping
Always a pleasure to lunch here. Food is great. Menu doesn’t change massively over time, which is a plus for me as I have my favourites! Service attentive but not too much.
As always Fuego was at its usual brilliant best.
Lovely staff, warm welcome.
Super food. Thank you.
Lovely meal. Excellent wine. Great seats. Good service. Pleasant waiting staff. Overall good.
We were going to the Theatre and
Thought it would be nice to have a meal out beforehand
Fabulous food, an explosion of flavours in the tapas dishes. Loved trying lots of different things. I really enjoyed the whole experience. Relaxed but with a little bit of class. Wonderful. Can't wait to return.
Delicious food. Excellent quality. Friendly & attentive waiting staff.
Delicious food and friendly service - we enjoyed pizza and tapas and they had a great selection of wine / cocktails. We’ll definitely be back.
Delicious food and wine. Great friendly service. Been twice in 2 weeks. Will be back soon.
Would have scored the staff 6 stars if I could. They were all so friendly and helpful, training must be very thorough. Enjoyed the tapas, had 4 dishes between 2 of us and thought it was plenty fit lunch time. All very high quality and very tasty. House rose was lovely and crisp and reasonably priced
