Our mission is to deliver the height of authentic dining in the heart of Kent. With a warm, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, guests will leave with satisfied tummies, feeling that they have been incredibly well looked after by attentive and knowledgeable staff.
Fantastic, well worth the 1 hour drive to be in the area...The chef visited our table personally to check we were happy with our meals, everyone was welcoming and friendly and a free birthday cake was added without asking when we let slip during our conversation with the chef that we were there in honour of my father’s 82nd Birthday. WELL DONE to all who operate this fab. establishment!
Great food and service as ever. Daughter and I both enjoyed the avocado linguini and had some yummy puds afterwards. Always a good choice of vegetarian options here, but plenty for meat-eaters too. Staff are friendly, helpful and efficient also.
We ate at 6pm so it was very quiet, but the food was great, I had a rib eye steak, the best I'd ever had and Anita's fish dish was superb.
Fabulous food in a laid back setting. By no means a run of the mill Gastro Pub. Specialist cuisine from South America, cooked so well.
Very good service, chef comes to table to take orders.
We had an amazing experience however I think the place is slightly overprice and that the rice could be made fresh instead of having it from a packet. Other thank that I the place and the service are fantastic.
Genuinely wonderful food. Whether you're interested in truly authentic South American dishes or simply the best Argentinian steak with chips, this restaurant is well worth visiting. We'll be back.
Very friendly staff, pleasant environment, good to see interesting, well cooked food on the menu. We went on a Thursday night and it was quiet so lacked a bit of ‘ambience’. Food excellent.
The menu is a change from the usual pub offerings. However, it is not restaurant quality but more like home cooking.
Fabulous food, very attentive and lovely staff, first visit here and certainly won’t be the last, couldn’t fault a thing. Not a vast menu but that’s certainly not a negative as so much detail is paid to the taste of the dishes. Definitely in my top 3 places to eat wouldn’t change a thing
We love this restaurant! The service is fabulous and the food is just stunning! It has served us well to bring two VERY discerning foodies here on two separate visits, both of whom were Uber impressed and thanked us for introducing them to it. It’s so beautifully set out with the decor and presentation - certainly exceeds expectations when walking into a village pub! Quite pricey - 3 course and 1 alcoholic drink = £40 per head, but as a special treat it’s really worth it. We will be back!
Just very good all round nice to speak with the chef
Great find for us, lovely varied menu, staff are fabulous .....and tables nicely space .... long may they reign
The food was outstanding. All of us cleared our plates. The grilled octopus was amazing!! If I had to critique anything it would be that the wooden chairs weren’t that comfortable. The landlady was very friendly and made a point of introducing herself which was nice. Will 100% be going back soon!
Great food. Nice place.clean.very friendly.car parking...
We did do a trip advisor review we were very impressed and have recommended you to friends already.we will look forward to coming back
Lovely lunch! Delicious food and a great children’s menu, offering something different to the usual sausage/fish finger kids menu.
The staff were so kind and friendly and we had a great family lunch. Highly recommend
It was a fantastic place. The food was amazing and delicious, and the hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend it.
Great food and front of house service. Would recommend.
Galapagos have understood the local market need for excellent dining at a reasonable cost. The Argentinian steak was delicious and the menu offered a wide range to meet most tastes. The chef was easily able to adapt to provide gluten free options. Well done.
First class always great when the chef pops out of the kitchen to see how you liked the food
Very good service, interesting food and very good value for money. Tables not too close together so you could actually speak to each other without the table next door joining in! Loved it.
We were made to feel very welcome. The menu was tempting and we were very pleased with our choices.
The chef chatted to each table at the end of the evening which was lovely.
The decor was attractive, particularly liked the paintings decorating the walls.
Thank you for a lovely evening.
Lovey food, great friendly and attentive service from the front of house and also the chef. Will definitely be going back. So nice to have this place locally serving food that’s a bit different from typical pub grub.
Unusual food to find in this corner of East Sussex, with an interesting menu, some dishes distinctly Ecuadorian, some more European. Its of space between tables, so you can her yourself talk, and god-friendly - what cold be better?
It was our first trip to Galapagos and we found the whole experience thoroughly satisfying. The staff and chef were welcoming and helpful and surprised us with an unexpected birthday treat. The food was delicious with a diverse variety of South American dishes on the menu and the decor was relaxing and added to the ambiance. We would highly recommend this delightful restaurant.
Very happy with a great meal, friendly service and pleasant surroundings, will return soon
What a wonderful experience. A quiet Thursday afternoon, but the food was amazing and service impeccable. If you go, be brave and order specialities from Ecaudor and Peru; you won't be disappointed. Top restaurant.
The staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient and being able to sit outside and enjoy the evening sunshine with a drink and peruse the menu was a bonus. The menu is authentic South American cuisine and we were faced with some difficult choices as all the dishes sounded appetising. The Ecuadorian ceviche with popcorn was amazing as was the the Lomo Saltado. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food. The wine list was good value and the wines enjoyable. This was our first visit to this restaurant and we will definitely return.
Absolutely amazing food, fantastic wine, really lovely atmosphere and the most friendly and welcoming chef, owner and staff you could ever have
You absolutely must visit!
A lovely meal. Attentive staff.
Nobody else in the restaurant so lacked a little on atmosphere.
Very good restaurant. Beautifully cooked food and a great team. Will definitely return
This is a great restaurant serving delicious Latin American food in a delightful setting with great, friendly service. Highly recommended!
Good food, nice atmosphere, friendly service and decent price.
We dined at Galapagos Restaurant on a Friday evening.
The lady behind the bar welcomed us warmly and showed us to our table. The young man waiting on the tables was very polite and friendly throughout.
The food was lovely. My partner absolutely loved his main course choice of the chicken and I was more than pleased with my lamb choice. The meat was cooked to perfection. It just fell apart.
Basically, our visit to Galapagos was all you need from a restaurant - perfect staff, good food and a comfortable dining room.
If I visit this part of Kent/Sussex again I will definitely return.
Happened upon Galapagos a few weeks ago and had an impromptu lunch. Enjoyed it so much that I tool my parents back for a birthday meal. Food was lovely and the service was excellent. Great selection of food with extra Specials menu too. Will definitely be going back!
Delicious food , great customer service and made to feel like friends not customers, such a lovely evening, we will return
Like a breath of fresh air , being bored with the norm , visiting Galapagos was a real treat.
Steak really was cooked to perfection, excellent pleasant service.
Really wish the business well
The place is nice and charmed. It’s a traditional pub but with a latinoamerican twist. It has big windows and all the atmosphere is very warm and relaxing. The service is nice and correct and even the chef stopped at our table to see that everything was fine. The food is great, different with high quality ingredients and ver well cooked. We had “Seco de Chivo” which was soft and tender, the white rice exactly at its point and the sweet plantains the best side dish. We had the empanadas, the dough was delicious and also the meet inside. The Sunday roast was suberb and in a good quantity. The beef was delicious as well and the home made fries outstanding. We really recommend this place. Our favorite restaurant in Kent.
Fantastic food, fantastic service. Would highly recommend it.
The food was excellent, we were served efficiently by a lovely waitresss. The restaurant was a little cold, otherwise our experience was good. I look forward to going back. The menu is varied and made choices difficult as it all looked delicious.
