Our executive chef has curated a beautiful, locally sourced menu comprised of delicious traditional fayre for all the family. Firstly, the menu (even though it was a Sunday) was limited. After having ordered our drinks, we were told there was no Coke-cola left, surprise to say the least, After placing our order, we were told there was actually no soup left and what was stated on the menu had to be changed. At this point I was debating paying for our drink and leaving, but thought I would give it a go. We weee left hugely disappointed as this venue was our wedding venue and it was tradition to go every year. Sadly I will not be back. Too much incompetence is one sitting and a bill of £75 was well overpriced for the service and food we received.

The food was good, but the service was terrible. Inexperienced waiters had no idea about the dishes served. When questioned about a wine that was served that tasted strande, the answer was simply "That is the wine you asked for".

We booked here for New Year’s Eve. The waiting staff were so disorganised no one around us had there drinks yet despite having nearly finished plates on their tables. We asked for drinks and after waiting for 30 mins we decided to leave as we didn’t even have our menus yet either. Horrific experience

We left after being presented with a badly photocopied menu with limited choice and a price tag of £55 per head which was not advertised anywhere in the hotel website. I even phoned the day before and was told the menu was the normal gallery menu. The table behind us had been given food from that menu but we were not offered this and told we would have to take the new years eve menu. We left.

For it being Christmas day, the service was very prompt and no waiting between courses, I went for the turkey and ham it was very tasty, and my wife chose the salmon and really enjoyed it, staff very helpful and friendly. Would definitely go back.

We had Sunday roast beef and we weren't disappointed at all . The portions were quite generous, nice fresh vegetables and good quality meat.

The steak was of poor quality beef which was disappointing, obviously the hotel is penny pinching. The breakfast was a grease fest with the fry being deep fat fried.
