Food absolutely brilliant.the service was too slow ,food missing ,no free wine given we spent over £200 .only offered one drink.i appreciate they were busy, too busy for them to handle ,why take so many bookings(greed) place was overbooked.i hate to complain I wouldn’t go back on a weekend.service was poor and very slow
Food was amazing, not much ambience as it was very quiet
Amazing!!!! No other words, the service is out of this world and the food is just something else.... just wow
Enjoyed a great meal with friends. Quality food and service and good portions. Would highly recommend
Very impressed with the atmosphere, service and the food was fantastic. We’ve been before and can never fault it!
A great restaurant, great food, service and price!
The decor of the Gandhi is not the most impressive. However, once seated at a clean comfortable table first impressions soon disappear. There is a good varied menu and chosen food is presented very quickly.
Overall the food, service and value are high. The Gandhi has never let us down and remains to be our favourite Indian restaurant. Highly Recommended.
Absolutely wonderful food. 100% will eat here again + we picked up a takeaway menu on exit.
Smelly reception. A lot of people drinking. We didn't stay so I can't comment on the food.
We went to Gandhi's for the first time last weekend and we had a great meal - food was fantastic. Really very good indeed. The atmosphere was nice and thankfully it was pretty busy even though we ate early - 6.30pm. There's nothing worse than an empty restaurant. The quirky decor made the kids smile.
We will def return - it's a little gem of a place.
On of the best Indian meals I've had in quite some time. When you factor in the amazingly reasonable cost, there's no way Gandhi should not be on your short list if/when you find yourself in the area.
Really nice food, good service. The decor is abit random but yeah really nice time spent here
One of the Best Restaurant I came across in Maidenhead and Slough area. Some fish dishes have small issues, which I think can be improved, but overall they are very Good
Lovely food! No sloppy sauces-delicious flavours.
Really good atmosphere in the restaurant with very unusual decoration!
Excellent service and friendly staff.
My local . It always delivers .
They made an effort for Valentines Day with free roses and a free dessert .
I’m vegan so a good local Indian restaurant is extremely important to me .
It’s a consistently good place to eat and the bonkers decor is part of its peculiar charm
Great food and service. We have eaten here a few times before and are never disappointed. Our last visit was on Valentine's day and the complimentary dessert and rose were a lovely touch ... thank you !
Excellent service, nice place, but the food was a bit disappointing. I enjoy an Onion Bhaji for starters and while the portion was huge, it was overcooked and just a plate full of batter. The Naga was a bit uninspiring too, and although described as a spicy hot curry, was not very spicy to my palette. Would I go again? Probably not - wishing to try other Indian restaurants in the area. (I was a visitor for one night only....)
Often get take aways from here and the food is amazing. Have had mixed experiences in the restaurant though. Went a couple of nights ago and had booked a table online. I booked a table for 9.30pm, for two people, even though you could book up until 11.30pm. However, when we arrived the staff looked disappointed at our arrival as the restaurant was almost empty and I assume they wanted to go home. We'd come for a quick bite anyway but felt very rushed and, when we asked for the dessert menu, was told they would be shutting soon even though it was advertised to be open for at least another hour and a half. Very strange decor inside but as stated previously, food is amazing! Just a shame for the poor customer service.
Outstanding service and the food was superb. We are looking forward to going back.
Good food great portions friendly staff always happy to bag food up.
It was our first visit and we were made very welcome and will be back . Great food, service and atmosphere.
Had a very enjoyable meal with friends. Will definitely return as the Vindahloo was excellent.
Although always friendly and a good atmosphere, we found our experience this time wasn't up to its usual standard - probably as it was really busy. Food was average and nothing to write home about and not as good a previous visits.
Love this place!!
People are so friendly and food lovely!!
Was a birthday celebration, lovely restaurant, got a set meal for 6 of us. So much food and lovely food too, accomendating for people's dietary requirements too!! Staff are lovely and couldn't be more helpful if they tried.
We celebrated a friends birthday and were very happy with the overall experience. Great food and service and with good pricing the only negative was that we were on a rather cramped table with very little space for food service past our table.
Will definately go again
Gandhi was great when it first opened 3 years ago, but the food is not as good as it was initially. Pity as it is very local to us and we struggle to find a good Indian in Maidenhead.
Food was too spicy.. Spicy as in chilly powder taste...
Really good ibdian/Bangladeshi food.never disappointed thanks guys for making our reunion so good
We eat here at least once every two weeks and the food is exceptional and excellent value for money, particularly on Wednesday and Sunday buffets.
Starters are a work of art. Good portions. Extremely tasty. Friendly waiters. Great chef !
we have been customers at Gandhis since it opened, unfortunately the food is not as good as it used to be - on this visit my paneer tikka was very oily. Real pity as it's so close to our house.
Delicious tasting food , large portions, friendly service
Very happy with this restaurant, a regular customer , will be going here for a long time to come 10/10.
This is an excellent Indian restaurant. The service was first class and the food was superb. We will definitely eat here again. Added benefit was the free parking either on the premises or just outside on the road.
This was our first visit and we were pleasantly surprised! The staff were friendly and welcoming and service was good with all food arriving in a timely manner. The food was delicious and portions were generous. Will definitely visit again or use the take away service.
Lovely food! My first time and will absolutely be going again.
Lovely welcoming staff. Excellent service with a good vibe. Offer to pack left over food to take away and reasonably priced wine makes it good value.
I so wanted to love this place, I love the quirky decor and Gandhi theme.
6.30pm table booking, we were sat on an awkward round table behind a fish tank. Perfectly fine, but only if the waiters are attentive enough to ensure you are being taken care of. Sadly this was not the case, 15 minute wait for drinks and poppadom orders - in the end my brother went up to the bar to place the order himself (the restaurant is about 30% full at this point, and plenty of waiters standing around).
The restaurant itself is really quirky, fake plastic plants and animals everywhere, a big fish tank or two. It is most certainly a feast for the eyes!
Poppadoms arrive, the chutneys are just odd. No lime pickle by default, one of the founding cornerstones of the poppadom experience left out. We ask for some, it arrives, it's so salty you can barely consume more than a couple of spoonfuls.
On to the starters then, I have a garlic king prawn dish and my brother went for king prawn butterfly. His arrives piping hot, but butterfly it is not. It is more just prawn pieces in breadcrumbs. The chef clearly has missed the fact that the clue is in the name with this appetiser. Mine arrives warm, and seriously underwhelming. No amount of spiralised carrots and radishes could improve the appetiser experience for me at that point.
Main courses were good, credit where it's due (Chicken Madras and South Indian Chilli Chicken).
Naan bread was poor (Keema naan, falling apart and completely unbalanced with the filling).
Tarka Dahl was watery, steamy, flavourless gloop. Such a shame this indian staple dish was pretty much left untouched.
Otherwise, the waiters were perfectly nice, the Gents toilet is a bit weird - it's a narrow room with a full blown toilet at one end and a urinal in the middle, so if one person is using either one you're in for an awkward up close and personal when the person using the cubicle tries to leave whilst the urinal is in use.
