Fantastic!!!! My partner and I had a meal in Gaucho on Monday night and were extremely impressed. The decor in the restaurant and bar area is beautiful. The place looks amazing. The staff are friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The food was exceptional as were the cocktails! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Edinburgh!

First class from start to finish. What a wonderful lunch, impeccable service and amazing food. Staff were very friendly, attentive and so knowledgable about all the various dishes and cuts of meat on offer. We opted for the chateaubriand which was outstanding as was the gnocchi. Beautiful wine and fantastic desserts. A very welcome addition to Edinburgh’s restaurant scene. Can’t wait to return for dinner.

We both chose from the Steak menu for our main courses and we were delighted with our respective choices. The quality of service and attention to detail was excellent, we will definitely be back.

My wife and I came here on opening night and we had an amazing experience. Gaucho has more to offer than just steak as my wife is not a steak eater and she was well catered for. She had the empanadas and Iberico pork and I had the salted potted beef and the Picana steak. A great selection of well prices wines which complimented the good. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and look forward to going back.

Centrally located and very convenient. The restaurant called a day before and checked whether we had any dietary requirements and contacted me again the day after. A very nice touch. There was an surprising number of (mostly inexperienced but enthusiastic and pleasant) staff. The food was excellent, especially the steak, which was expected. The wine list was a little limited but suitable albeit some of them WILDLY overpriced. The Gran Lurton was an excellent match for the steak and is probably the best value on the list. The Seleccion G Torrontes was a good match for the prawns. The cheese platter was delightful. The brandies and ports were a little limited (although extremely good). Overall, this is a delightful addition to the culinary scene. I will certainly have to return.

Managed to get a booking at Gaucho prior to the official opening during their "soft" launch. Restaurant was only half full but I guess that was deliberate so as not to overwhelm the waiting staff. Service was excellent and the free wine was flowing well (didn't have a full licence until official opening). We had the ribs and seafood sampler to start which were excellent. We followed that with the ribeye and half chicken. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and full of flavour and had been marinated in the Chimichurri sauce. Unfortunately the chicken was a touch overcooked and a bit dry. A good cheeseboard to finish. A touch on the pricey side, but the steaks are top notch and good for a special occasion.

Very attractive restaurant . We opted for the roast chicken lunch and it was incredibly disappointing. The Yorkshire puddings had to be sent back as they were not cooked, the roast potatoes were dry and hard, the chicken was also dry and the vegetables soaked in garlic . To be honest I have had better food from at a motorway rest stop . Very very disappointing.

Not a good experience - strange service - instantly faced with the steak board before even ordered an appetitive which eventually came after ordering food and wine. Wine list confusing and very very ridiculously pricey. Sold out of two items on limited menu (Friday night at 7 and the kitchen cannot rustle up more fish pie - is it bought in). Steaks ok , swordfish steaks only lukewarm tasted of nothing. Uninspired presentation. Cannot believe how much we paid for so little! Oh and unnecessarily loud thumpy music so hard to talk.
