My partners birthday . We arrived to a glass of complementary fizz and then had excellent food wine and service.
What more could you want !!!!!
Fantastic restaurant and the food and service was brilliant!
I did lots of research before I booked the meal as it's was my wife's SPECIAL birthday. In brief the staff could not have been more helpful and took the time to explain in depth the make up of the dishes. The food and more importantly the Steak on offer was second to none, it was without doubt one of the best steaks I have ever had ( Ribeye ) and all four guests confirmed the same. I would without doubt recommend this restaurant for an amazing meal in a lovely setting and location 10/10
Customer service was sublime. Everyone was very attentive and I really enjoyed my experience at the edinburgh gaucho. Will be coming back! Xx
Been many times to Gaucho in London, but this was the first time in Edinburgh and it more than lived up to our expectations. Excellent food and service, loved the decor. Would highly recommend.
Had a very nice meal with my wife. Excellent food and service. Lot of work put into food , no complaints
Had a really nice meal for my birthday. Staff could not have been better. Steaks were good but chunky chips were more like roast potatoes because they were so large! A little under cooked as they were a bit hard but ate them anyway. Over all had a really good time. Shared a dessert and they wrote happy birthday with chocolate on the plate. Nice touch.
One of the best steaks I've ever had. Fillet - Churrasco De Lomo was stunning, fantastic flavours and cooked perfectly. Sharing breads and dipping oils as a taster to start were also great. Starters were great too (I had the Provoleta) but if you're ordering a larger steak for a main meal its a lot of food to get through but well worth it all. Really good cocktail menu too, a Penicillin rounded off the meal nicely, wasn't quite able to squeeze in the Zombie. Next time tho! Service was also fantastic and attentive.
Great Sunday lunch Roast beef and all the fixings
I can recommend the steak.
It was a great evening, we were running late so we asked if could move our reservation an hour later. I know how busy this restaurant can be but they happily held our table for later. On arrival, all staff was polite and very accommodating. We were seated in a lovely area, our waiter explained the menu in great detail. We don’t always dine out and not wine drinkers. However the waiter was extremely polite and attentive. He carefully explained and made some great recommendations too. Should we back in Edinburgh we will definitely be going back regardless of a special occasion.
Gauchos is always a good bet for steak. Good ambience great steak and very good service.
Outstanding food and amazing service, great for any steak lover looking for something special. Thoroughly recommend
Excellent food and wine and very good service. Best tasting steak that I have had in a long time.
Our welcome and departure experience could have been better ...steaks were lovely but prawns and broccoli (very dry) were disappointing.
No one around to give us coats, for price paid expect better
Amazing food and outstanding service. I would recommend without hesitation
Great food & great service. Perhaps a little expensive but would still return.
Great time visiting gauchos , from walking in the door , the staff were friendly and attentive and decor is really cool and sets the scene for a good evening.
Pablo our waiter was great all evening, in recommending meat and wines, he was friendly and gave us the right amount of service effortlessly.
The food was exceptional, we shared the chateaubriand (700g ideal for two hungry people) which was cooked to our liking. Sides were good and recommended wine went down nicely.
This is our second gauchos visit , we have also eaten at one in Leeds which was great as well, so we roughly knew what standard to expect or at least hope for and it did not disappoint. It is not a cheap meal , but for the standard of service and quality of food, is well worth the price.
Excellent steak for my friend's birthday. We had to ask twice for a cocktail menu bUT other than that all was great.
Gaucho, where everything truly is about the Argentinian beef. Respect for the product runs through everything. From the 'show and tell' of different cuts to recommendations about the best level of cooking for each cut, staff are well versed and enthusiastic about the eating experience. The enthusiasm is more than justified. Huge portions of perfectly cooked beef served with generous side portions and sauce (one of each included with each order). At around £40-£50 (and stretching to £100 for shared cuts) per steak, the prices may seem steep but think about it as a special occasion outing and you'll properly feel as if you've had areal treat. Despite being absolutely stuffed, we troughed our way through dessert and we were glad that we did. Dulche de leche cheesecake was indulgent and divine and my normally non-dessert eating companion had a lemon tarte that was declared superb. We were in Gaucho spending some gift vouchers we were given for a wedding present and the restaurant gave us a glass of champagne each by way of celebration; a lovely touch. For us, we would consider Gaucho a 'special occasion' outing … it is certainly too special for everyday!
Steak here is great so if you like Steak then well worth a visit. Nice decor and service makes for a pleasant dining experience.
Our experience of this particular restaurant (Gaucho Edinburgh) where we knew what to expect from experience of Gaucho in London, lived up to expectations. Excellent steaks, although with a caveat about the wine prices, but the meal was made really worthwhile by the attention, service and general attitude of Charlie, the serving waiter, and the overall politeness of the staff. Highly recommended.
This was for a friend's 60th birthday and staff pulled out all the stops! Excellent service and fabulous food. Everything was patiently explained to us and we all enjoyed the starters and our steaks - this is truly a fine dining experience.
Fabulous grass fed argentinian beef. Also local organic beef. Our restaurant waiter was great. Very friendly and efficient. The food was absolutely delicious.
The service from Craig was outstanding, the steak was sublime and the restaurant is simply stunning...fabulous way to celebrate our wedding anniversary
Craig was different class and meal was superb. Steak was best I’ve tasted in Scotland
1st time at a Gaucho restaurant quite impressive! Will definitely try again 😀
Great we love Gaucho much the same as all the others we have visited.
We had such a great evening, our waiter Craig made it a brilliant experience. Would highly recommend.
Expensive, but you pay for good quality and excellent service
Great service, steak was very tender. Lovely Malbec. Surprisingly good value given some of Edinburgh's steak restaurants.
Cannot recommend Gaucho highly enough. From start to finish it was exceptional. Food is amazing, we had a mixed sharing platter just delicious. The Chorizo sirloins just perfect followed by delicious desserts. The staff are second to none. We will be back thank you so much
Brilliant food and wine. Service was great and very attentive,
Gaucho is nice for a special occasion .
Too expensive to be regular place to dine.
Wine over priced.
Service was great and staff very friendly .
Had a lovely meal here celebrating my birthday, food was amazing as per!! & staff very friendly & helpful :)
Good food and wine but a bit expensive compared to other options.
Exceptional - dare I say the best steak in Edinburgh
If you like steak this is a must. Expensive but worth it.
Really enjoyed pre dinner cocktails in easy going bar, then the most delicious steak I’ve had in years. Thank you!
Wife and I simply had a great evening. The background music was awesome, the steaks were magic as always with the wine excellent. Service was flawless as made a great entre to our overall evening.
