Beautiful restaurant with top class finish. Very quiet on our visit (we were the only guests for lunch). Steaks, wine and service amazing.
Great atmosphere , great service and food. Definitely be back
Fantastic dining room , excellent food with very attentive staff, more than happy to recommend and will definitely return.
Excellent as always, food and wine amazing. We will always visit when in the area.
My husband and I ate there on our last night in Edinburgh, honestly we thought the hype was more than the actual restaurant. The overall ambiance was nice though, the staff is very good at their job and we were very happy with the service and decor of the restaurant, it's a nice place to be and seemed to be full of people from all over. The reason we didn't love it was we felt it was expensive and the food wasn't all that great, portions were a bit small, and we ate better at other restaurants we happened upon than in this one that came highly recommended by trip advisor and the hotel. It's an ok place, we personally didn't love it.
Gaucho, as always never fails to deliver. There was a"first-timer" in our group and they LOVED it.
We had a fantastic meal at the gaucho in Edinburgh, we had two friends who had travelled from Australia just for the weekend to see the rugby and it was the icing in the cake to have the private dining room to ourselves, it really made it a special evening for all of us. Also Craig our waiter was fantastic, couldn’t have asked for better service.
I would recommend for the food however be prepared to be in a noisy restaurant.
Gaucho delivered all fronts. Great location, ambience oozed class, steaks were epic and the choice of wine excellent. What more is there to say? You will not get sacked or dumped dining here!!!
Had a meal for 5 after the Rugby on Saturday and atleaset we finished the day better than it started . We have 2 vegetarians with us or should I say picky vegatarians that didnt quite like what was on the menu! however the waiter was excellant and through talking with the Chef both had off piste/menu meals that they loved. The canrnavours amongst us had the Gauncho sampler and Ribeye which were cooked to perfection and were so tender their was no need for steak knives. We will definately be back and soon
Great food and a fantastic place to eat although the A La Carte menu & Wine list very pricey - steaks were exceptional & as long as you accept bill for dinner for 2 will be north of £150 (inclusive of glass of wine) then will be enjoyable.
Was a very enjoyable evening with spectacular food! Will 100% be going back again soon.
I took a friend for lunch last week. Food and service was great but the music level was a bit too high - my only complaint. Introduce a loyalty scheme for regular customers?
Excellent service steaks to die for will certainly be back.
I do like Gaucho but there isn’t much on the starter menu that I like. However our main course was absolutely delicious and we did thoroughly enjoy our meal. I would add that I thought the wines were unbelievably expensive but the bottle that we had was nice.
Loved it. Food and service were both fantastic. Would highly recommend!
Great food bar service was rather slow and was very noisy down in the restaurant music was too loud in my opinion.
Excellent steak and great service. Wiuld recommend but witha few reservations.
Restaurant was busy which was good, but the music was too loud. It was difficult to hear the waiting staff.
Male toilets looked lovely but didn't smell very nice.
A very enjoyable overall experience in a pleasant atmosphere.
Main course was fantastic but starter was disappointing and not a great choice.
Another fantastic meal at gaucho ( we are regulars at the Manchester restaurant ) but the only complaint was the front of house advice. Our train was delayed in so I phoned ahead to request that our 8.30pm booking was moved back to 9pm. I was advised that this could not be done as the table could only be reserved for a 15min slot. I explained our position but no flexibility on the table time. We made it “just” in time at 8.44pm after a mad mad rush ( my partner suffered a very bad blister due to the dash ) to which we were then sat in the drinks area until 9.10pm and then took to our table. Very questionable stance of a brilliant company. Other than that all good, food outstanding, wine outstanding, great service and advice from Craig who was our table service. 10/10 to Craig, could not fault him.
Stunning venue and great food. However, I found the service to be very poor. After being seated at our booked table, we waited nearly 20 minutes before being provided with a drinks menu. Service was very slow and I found ourselves constantly having to flag a waiter down rather that them being attentive. Perhaps they were too busy dealing with the large group in the private dining room who did not seem short on service. This surprised me given how this group behaved in the toilets, spitting on the floor and generally acting like idiots, or the other large group who had two females in their party who could barely stand up through drunk ness. I have to say this took away a lot of the shine from our experience. If you want a classy establishment, this was not it!
Our waiter was fantastic and really helpful. The only thing was we were sat right underneath a speaker belting out music so while guests may have enjoyed this say in the middle of the restaurant, we struggled to hear each other and had to speak very loudly in order to converse. Other than that, food was delicious, wine was incredible, we will definitely be back!
The food was fantastic & I found the staff were all so friendly & very helpful. Our waitor was Alex & I loved how he came and explained the different cuts of meat. I was going to order the rump & always have my steak well done but Alex advised me to go for the fillet because if I had the rump well done it would be chewy. Really thought that was a nice touch as no one has ever told me that before when I have ordered steak in a restaurant. The service was absolutely fantastic, service with a smile and very helpful informative staff & the decor was beautiful. Lovely atmosphere. Would definitely reccommend & go back again.
Overall it wasn’t
Amazing food (as we knew it would be) and a really cool vibe and funky atmosphere, but what really made the evening special was the personal service and friendly, attentive staff who truly made us feel valued. Gaucho delivers again!
Really enjoyed our first visit to Gaucho but let down by arrival when told our table wasn’t ready and to get a drink in the bar.
Tried to order 3 different wines to be told they were out of stock.
Ordered 3 Aperol Spritz which were unbalanced & over priced.
15 minutes overdue we were shown to our table in a half empty restaurant which left a bit first impression considering we were told our table wasn’t ready.
Fantasy service from Ray who was extremely accommodating.
Great experience. Steak was cooked to perfection. Service was brilliant and so attentive.
Another fantastic meal. Amazing value for money, 3 courses for £24.50 each. Brilliant menu choices, steaks delicious..10/10 for the food and excellent customer service. Thank you
Food was outstanding, service of food was outstanding, drink were great. The only let down was waiting time on table, Table was booked for 5:15pm and did not get seated until 5:35pm this was on top of being 5mins early.
Great place for a great night out. Excellent food, friendly staff and great atmosphere.
Brilliant as always, best in Edinburgh Great attentive staff, great music and fantastic food.
The beer selection was pretty poor and cocktails were of a very small proportion for the price. Our steak was the chateaubriand and tasted more burnt that anything. We did mention but nothing was done about it and we were getting hungry. We had a good half hour wait before we go into restaurant. The staff were very nice and that was the saving grace really.
Lovely setting, attentive staff and the food was delicious. We both had different starters and mains, but all were top quality. We were told we only had the table for two hours, however this was an unrushed, relaxed experience. I would definitely recommend a visit!
Different to other places, good experience. Little bit pricey but other than that had a nice first time
The best steak I have ever had. Service was amazing and even got information on what steak I would be eating, where it was from etc. Will definitely be back
I once went to Gaucho in London. As the same this time was wonderful, too !
Lovely meal for my husband's birthday. We shared the Chateauxbriand and it was cooked perfectly melted in your mouth. Nice touch of happy birthday plate with chocolates. The restaurant is very chic with a lovely ambiance well worth a visit!! Very friendly staff who provided a first class service.
We went for the fixed price menu and my steak was pretty disappointing-small, fatty and served on an empty plate looking sad. The chips were slightly soggy. Not good.
