I took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner and we were so impressed! The restaurant itself is lovely and has a great atmosphere! The food was just amazing (best steak ive ever had) and the staff were very attentive and friendly! Will definitely be back!

We had an absolutely lovely meal at Gaucho, i requested a booth and noted it was our anniversary - we were seated in a lovely booth area and we were given a little plate with “happy anniversary” written on chocolate and some biscuits at the end of our meal! Our server, Craig, was very polite and friendly! Of course, the best steak in Edinburgh (we both enjoyed the fillet “Lomo”).

Everything was fairly good.
Ordered a non-alcoholic drink that was priced £6.50 wasn’t overly happy with the amount you got in the glass considering it was a very expensive mocktail, although once explained, staff replaced it with no issue. Food was lovely. I will return.

Booked restaurant based on festive menu option available on website. However was refused menu and told bluntly al la carte menu was only available.
TBH should have got up and left.
Steak was ok IMO better steaks at Kyloe and much better dining experience next door at The Ivy where service is truly excellent.

Beautiful steak, cooked perfectly! No alcohol served due to the current government restrictions but there is a good selection of mocktails - try the Tiki Twist, it’s lovely. Great service.

I LOVE Gauchos, Piccadilly London was my go to place for a number of years. First time visiting Edinburgh venue and the service was just as friendly and accommodating.
Food was really good, slight changes and it would have been fabulous (steak came out medium instead of rare and ceviche needed more citrus). The presentation, quality and portions were spot on.
I’d happily go back again and already looking forward to the next trip!

Food was great, waited so long on our mains though! Not great when your starving and pregnant. Shame the ambiance wasnt as great as previous visits felt it was too bright and not intimate like how it used to feel.

We visited during the tier 3 restrictions, so very hard to evaluate the ambiance as it was just the two of dining at 4pm.
Dennis our waiter was lovely. Not over attentive, but there if you needed him.
Food was superb. Definitely visit again, as it would be nice to try their wines alongside the dishes.

Food was amazing (wee bit more cheese in the macaroni cheese sauce would be good though) service great too. The only downside at the moment is the fact no music can be played and no wine can be consumed. Silly rules but no fault of the restaurant. It’s not the cheapest of places but I’d rather pay a bit extra for the quality of the meat which was faultless. We have been a few times and the food has been consistently good. :-)

Went here to celebrate my birthday. Had to amend the booking to mid afternoon due to the Covid19 issue but fortunately there was a table available. The staff were wonderful from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble. The steaks we ordered were not only huge, but tasty and tender. Can’t recommend the Tiro de Ancho highly enough. The chimichurri topping on it was delicious!
No room for dessert for me after the monster steak but a lovely surprise of some chocolate truffles to say happy birthday was much appreciated.

It was so good to be able to go for lunch. We couldn't have alcohol as covid rules did not allow but had mocktails. We started with delicious bread, followed by succulent steak and chips and delicious deserts.

First time in the restaurant. Lovely decor and atmosphere. Food was good. Asked for medium, next time we’ll probably go for medium rare. Steak was still very tasty as were all the sides. 1/2 lobster was small for the price but again, very tasty.

Gorgeous decor, great balance of relaxed/professional. Excellent waiter Craig who took us through the menu, explaining everything really well and made some excellent recommendations. Food was sooo good. Lovely touch, the petit fours for our anniversary.
