The service was excellent, and we were impressed that gluten free bread was available so that one of our party didn't have to be left out while we were waiting to order our mains.
The noise level was a bit high, which made conversation amongst the whole group (5) a challenge, but other than that it was wonderful food, good drinks selections, and fantastic staff across the board.
Belated Birthday lunch
Beautiful location and ambience but the burger I had was too thick and dry and didn't have much flavour, very disappointed with my main but sticky toffee pudding was very nice.
Gees gave us all we required for this ocassion, Matriculation at Oxford University plus a birthday. The service was efficient and friendly and the food was excellent. We shall be returning soon and would recommend Gees to anybody else.
The evening was very expensive for what it was, not value for money.
Beautiful glass house restaurant. Amazing food. So romantic!
At my daughter’s recommendation (Oxford student) I booked Gee’s for my wife’s birthday lunch as we were coming to Oxford. We had a great meal and would certainly recommend Gee’s to anyone looking for a fab place to eat in Oxford
Excellent food and excellent service.
The staff were particular good in being attentive, yet unobtrusive.
Lovely atmosphere and some excellent food.
Great venue in Oxford. Good food , attentive staff , great atmosphere. A lovely evening.
great location for dinner, love the lighting as the sun goes down
Leisurely lunch. Tasty Seasonal food, attentive but not intrusive service. Not rushed. Very pleasant experience. Will return.
Such a hidden gem - the vibe inside was so fun and cozy. We ordered many plates to enjoy family style and they were all delicious.
Gee's never fails to deliver. Husband tells me they mix one of the best cosmopolitans ever... and he has drunk a lot of them!!!
The food was delicious, you could tell that the staff were quite stressed but that was understandable because it was very busy.
Only thing that we felt was quite funny was the fact that, for £13 you literally got 2 scallops as a starter. Nothing else. So there was apsolutely no value for money with that specific meal. Everything else was great!
The restaurant is located in a very unique building that was perfect if you are celebrating a special occasion - in our case a birthday. The food was AMAZING , we started with the sharing tapas which had just the right amount for two people. Ordering the halibut and ribeye for mains everything was cooked to perfection and simply delicious. Cocktails were damn good too really well made with a nice touch of fresh herbs. (Pisco sours) I normally don’t have dessert but the menu was too tempting so I have a brûlée which was magnificent! Staff were very friendly and attentive without overdoing it like some other places. We found the prices fairly reasonable starter mains desserts and cocktail cost us £114. Overall a really wonderful experience. Could not fault anything about this place and we can’t wait to go back!
Gee's was fabulous. The service was excellent, the atmosphere great and the food was even better than we hoped. Highly recommended.
Yet another happy experience at Gee’s. How do I fill in even more letters ...?
The setting and food were absolutely gorgeous and well worth the price. The service required a little more attentiveness with glasses often left empty for quite some time and generally was quite slow. This may be down to one member of the party arriving late but we were left hungry for quite some time.
We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were given a complimentary glass of Prosecco.
Great evening for a special occasion. Quite expensive but worth it for a treat.
A unique, iconic setting with decor that manages to have the right balance of the formal and the informal.
Interesting daily menu, with standard dishes and some unusual choices. Full on Artichoke Heart was magnificent, and a terrific selection of fresh fish, filleted and on the bone.
Definitely a restaurant to visit on a regular basis when visiting Oxford (or if you are lucky enough to be a local!)
Food and atmosphere were good however the Gee's burger was really disappointing for the price paid: bread was not fresh and the meat was so small we almost couldn't find it inside the bread.
Very nice moment, great food and fantastic Victorian Glasshouse.
Staff were good but the burgers were termed very 'average' by those in the party that ate them. As the cost was more than average, this was disappointing.
The wine list is very geared to the top end of the market leaving very little below the £50 level.
Ideal for our pre-theatre meal as they serve food all day. They don’t have their own parking but we found free parking in one of the residential streets just 5 minutes away.
Loved the ambience in the large conservatory. Service was good, waiter helpful explaining the menu. Liked the starter and desert course choices, main courses didn’t inspire me, but probably just a personal thing!
Overall, a very enjoyable meal but not quite good enough to get any ‘excellent’ ratings.
Our go-to restaurant when visiting Oxford. Interesting menu with great seasonal choices
We arrived early and stayed quite late but were accommodated and not hassled to leave. The food and service was very good too.
It is a VERY noisy place somewhat due to acoustics. Staff were wonderful and bent over backwards to please. I chose badly from the menu so can’t comment on the food - this should in no way be considered bad feedback. The restaurant is very pretty too!!
Excellent venue for post-graduation celebratory dinner.
Loved the whole ambience of the place. Very friendly and lovely sunny restaurant. Starter of Salt Cod Croquettes was extremely good. Only marked down the seafood linquine as it was a little salty for my taste, although very tasty and perfectly cooked. Staff were lovely.
Absolutely beautiful restaurant with excellent menu and great service. Every detail seems carefully considered, without it being fussy. I would strongly recommend.
This conservatory restaurant has a nice light feel, and has been a north Oxford favourite for some time. Always has fresh fish on the menu and good wine selection. Have been coming here for over 20 years.
Amazing and quirky venue, amazing food and happy friendly staff
I asked my wife’s hand in
Marriage here and returned 12 yrs later to celebrate on our Tin 10yr anniversary
Excellent evening many thanks
We had a fabulous girly lunch with delicious food in a beautiful setting with lovely prosecco :-)
Cosy dinner with my husband for his birthday. Friendly and efficient staff which were attentive but also left us to it rather than hover. Tasty sharing tapas starter, delicious lamb and guineafowl mains. Amazing chocolate nemesis dessert. Next time I visit Oxford, I will be booking Gee's again.
We enjoyed a relatively quiet mid-August lunch in Gee’s, opting to choose from the Express Lunch menu. The food was simply prepared but made with good quality ingredients so the salad starter was light and fresh and the chicken thighs with thyme and courgettes were particularly tender and tasty. The service was friendly and swift (but not rushed).
Good wines by the glass.
It was a lovely and great evening! The food was amazing! Thank you!
Good food but we had to place our lunch order before 1130 before the kitchen is closed.
