Fabulous food in lovely surroundings. Only issue was that the table booking before hadn't cleared when we arrived, as requested, on time. We were shown to the bar where we understood we were being offered a free drink to make up for this, but when the bill came we were charged! What a shame as otherwise all was good.

We have been to Gee's before and our meal was impressive. This time it decidedly was not. Even the hamburger arrived cold. The linguine bland. Whatever I ordered so unmemorable I can't even remember. Starter platter was low on interest and heavy on slices of preserved meats if you like that kind of thing. We unfortunately came at a time when every table was booked meaning for the first hour of we needed to lean forward and elevate our voices. After that people left and it became much quieter. Staff was friendly.

We go to Gee's for every special occasion in our family. The food is excellent although a bit pricey but well worth the treat. It's a lovely venue, the staff are friendly and attentive. My favourite restaurant in town as long as my father is paying.

We had a lovely wedding anniversary lunch here on Saturday. It is a lovely venue especially when the weather is pleasant. Beautifully planted up in the glasshouse main venue, and also in the return at the side, which could be open-air if the weather is really nice. Food was extremely good and the service was just excellent. We had a really great occasion and will return.

We were a group of five and we all ordered different dishes. Everyone was happy with their choices.
The service was excellent.

The table was a bit too small for five and I would expect a table cloth.....otherwise the environment is nice and relaxing with all green around you!
Will return for sure!

Been to Gee’s many times, and love the ambiance, food and service. Sadly the wine offering is limited, unimaginative and outrageously overpriced. Chablis at £70+ sums it up.

Brilliant staff and delicious food. It was the perfect lunch for my mother’s birthday. Without having to ask they brought out a little extra desert for her too. Would go back for sure and imagine for a date it would be very romantic with the lights in the evening.

Visited on Sunday 25/3 for my Wife’s 40th Birthday. The ambience was gorgeous, the Service fantastic and the food was amazing

We chose the whole Seabass which was of a very good size and added to that, we aren’t the best with bones so the Chef happily filleted our fish. The outcome was a beautifully tasting fish that melted in our mouth.

Thanks very much to everyone at Gee’s for helping me to make my Wife’s 40th a birthday to remember

This was a disappointing visit. Having been to Gee’s on numerous occasions, our recent visit was pretty poor. Our table wasn’t ready as we arrived, then we were left for long periods through out the evening with huge delays in food arriving and orders taken, as staffing levels seemed poor, and at the end of the meal, my friends and I were ignored, left to find and retrieve our own coats, and no one even looked up as we left. We won’t be returning sadly.

As a great fan of Gee’s, I have no hesitation about praising the place.
My guests were both delighted by their food, and we all thought the mini- pizza starters were very good. My lamb chop was a little salty for me. We were steered towards a very pleasant light Italian red that somehow managed to drink well with everything.
The main downside came from a nearby table with one very loud man who made conversation among the here of us rather tricky; I don’t like being forced to wander over to complain.

We had the best of times, taking one of the later lunch slots on Mother's Day. The service was (and always is) excellent. Attentive but not intrusive. Cocktails offered were top-notch. Traditional Sunday lunch of roast lamb was cooked to perfection with a generous serving of vegetables. Puddings were delicious. Honestly, Gees doesn't put a foot wrong. It's always worth the visit.

Mother's day treat and this is the 2nd year I have treated my Mum. We love it mainly for the atmosphere to be honest. I used to go here 40 years ago and the place hasn't changed one little bit which is good news!

My Mum only has a starter as she's not a big eater but I had the Sunday roast beef, and it wasn't the best meal I've ever had to be honest. The meal was a little cold and the beef very tasty but quite a lot of fat to be cut off.

But it didn't spoil our enjoyment because we actually go for the ambience rather than the food.

Very lovely. Top marks for playing no background music whatsoever, and simply allowing the natural ambience of conversational noise to set the tone. Very good food, with warm and attentive but also discreet service. Only small point: coffees are a bit on the small side, and no refills.

I can't comment on the supposedly lovely dining area as I sat with my back to it, having a view of the kitchen and bar. I found the menu a bit restrictive in choice for main courses, I chose crab linguine, which beware, contained several bits of shell (there was a warning about this on the menu but I didn't expect to find so much). Otherwise the dish was tasty, though portion size a bit small. Hazelnut ice cream for desert was lovely, full of flavour and nice to have a flavour that you wouldn't normally find on the high street. Service was a bit on the slow side and the drinks expensive. When we booked we were asked if it was a special occasion which we said it was but there was no acknowledgement of this during our visit so not quite sure why they bothered asking us. So, while the food was nice, I wouldn't really recommend this restaurant to any one else or go again.

Took my daughter to celebrate her 20th birthday. Attentive staff, lovely ambience, food was excellent - succulent octopus and beautifully seasoned pulses in other dishes. Cater brilliantly for veggies and meat eaters in our opinion. Nice wines and at the end of the meal we skipped deserts as couldn't eat any more... they brought out an ice cream with a candle as they heard we were celebrating!
Can't wait to try again. We both loved it.
Thank you to Gee's

A lovely and very welcoming setting on an icy, bright Sunday. Friendly and helpful service, enjoyable food and a pleasant, positive vibe. The ‘greenhouse’ feeling is most welcome in winter, of course. Excellent and very zesty Virgin Mary!

I found Gees by chance and booked online for a special 25th anniversary meal- during our couple of days in Oxford- mentioning this on my online booking. Taxi knew it and was straight there, we were met and seated comfortably and immediately with a drink. The table was ready directly and we sat down with a complimentary glass of champagne each. Meal and service were brilliant, and the restaurant itself is a massive talking point, well and comfortably kitted out. It’s on our list to go back to at the first re-visit to Oxford!! Well done to all Gees team. Simon and Emily

A well chosen, varied menu. Dishes very well presented and are cooked with care and attention to flavours. We dined on a Sunday evening. The room was very distinctive and attractive. Fellow diners were varied: couples, work groups and celebrating family. Not suited to young children, but otherwise a welcoming and relaxed room, kitchen and staff. Wines well chosen, but prices reflected this selection.

We booked for a 21st family dinner. Service was excellent. We told them in advance of allergies and they printed out a special menu with dietary notes. They remembered to put a candle on the birthday girl's cake and moved our table to a more quiet location in the corner.
The glass conservatory setting was lovely, especially in the evening.
Food was OK though not special. Probably pricey for the food you get but you are paying for the overall package.
It was a lovely evening and we'd recommend the restaurant for a special occasion.

Food was lovely, nice to have some fresh bread before the start of your meal! Major lack of staff though, not sure if someone maybe called in sick? Was waiting for drinks and food for a long time (one table next to us waited for about 45 minutes for their main) and couldn’t get anyone’s attention when we needed to get our bill. Potentially rota more staff for busier days?
