All that marred the experience was the weather - a grey midwinter sky looms weightily on glass walls and roof. So the absence of flowers and colourful table decorations was keenly felt. The food was excellent, but it was about as cheerless as eating in a railway waiting room.

Food wasn't really up to snuff. Expensive but not outrageously so. Nice ambience and good service.

It was our first time at Gee's and we loved it. The atmosphere was great when we arrived and the staff looked after us very well from our arrival to when we left. Definitely will recommend the restaurant and we shall return.

Thank you and wishing the staff a very Happy New Year.

I come to Gees with my wife and occasionally friends on a regular basis. It's never disappointed in the many years I've lunched and dined here. This occasion - a New Year's Eve lunch with friends - was no exception. The tapas starter and linguine main were particularly good, helped down with plenty of NZ Sauvignon blanc. What better way to see out 2018? Already looking forward to an excuse to return this year.

Great lovely conservatory feel with lovely decor and good food!
I felt a little on the pricy side, but a really lovely team and ambiance in the building!

Such a beautiful restaurant. Food for brunch was great. The barista sent out a latte for a flat white and a cappuccino for a flat white but otherwise excellent and would recommend to my friends (perhaps not for coffee though).

The venue was stunning and it was perfect spot for our dinner for our long awaited getaway after Christmas. The menu offered a good range of food.
Unfortunately my partner didn’t enjoy the Guinnea Fowl ( it was the first time she had tried it) which was kindly refunded. The veggie Aubergine choice was sweet and presented in a way that made it difficult to eat with the side salad. A plate would have been helpful.
We didn’t want to order wine straight away but the wine menu was taken from us between courses.
The coffee ice cream and chocolate pot were nice but suggest that the Cherie isn’t just splashed on top as that was slightly overpowering.

The interior is amazing but the service isn’t that good compared to the price that you pay for. Also the food was quite good but I think it’s a bit overrated.

Went their on Christmas Eve with my wife. Beautiful setting, staff were very nive and helpful. Food isn't cheap but was very tasty and good portions.
I would recommend going just for the experience alone.
Certainly one of Oxford's best restaurant.

The setting is lovely in a conservatory with pretty greenery and lights. Some of the food was excellent whilst one of the meals was very bland. The service was good but not excellent, sides arrived so long after the meal we had finished the meal. Staff weren't overly friendly. Would recommend.

Worst service I've ever had. Had to wait 25 minutes from finishing our main until the plates were cleared, another 20 before we got a desert menu (after having to flag someone down) and gave up hoping someone would come back after another twenty minutes and had to flag someone down again to get the bill.

Truly awful and ruined what was otherwise good food.

The restaurant was beautiful, the setting very close to the centre of Oxford without being overrun by tourists. The service was attentive and, for a Tuesday evening, it became relatively busy as it got later into the evening (although we were the only people in the restaurant from 6pm until 6.30). The ambience was good during the latter half of our meal. Complimentary bread was delicious and a nice touch, and the food was mostly great. Only criticism in that regard is that my octopus starter was unpleasant and strange.

Lovely atmosphere, food overall very good but the aubergine parmigiana was swimming in grease. Sorry but as 2 of us chose that option it rather spoilt the meal. Also the salt cod croquettes had 2 large bones in - fairly basic cooking skills to remove. However the risotto was excellent as was the octopus and the service was excellent so do feel bad criticising but ....

I recently dined at Gees for a birthday occasion I was very impressed, the venue itself is beautiful, lovely decor, quiet and relaxed, perfect. The value for money & food would be the only thing I can grumble about, quite high prices for relatively small portions I.e £13.95 for 2 scallops, I opted for the burger for my main which was cooked as I wanted, lovely chips, but just felt it lacked taste was missing a relish or sauce was quite bland, and the steak was quite fatty but apart from that everything else went down a treat worth dining here for the ambience alone, I would recommend but in future I’d have the tapas for starter and risotto for main as they where lovely.
