Genesis Vegan Restaurant
The restaurant is only 10 mins walking distance from Liverpool Street tube station and very easy to find it.
Food is delicious, for those who are sceptical about vegan food I recommend it.
The food was delicious, but the portions were very small for the money we paid. The vibes of the resteraunt were brilliant, and we had a pleasant evening, but considering how much we paid we expected more for our money. Much better value vegan spots on the market I would recommend over here.
Amazing in every way!!!!!!
Great staff, great music, great venue, AMAZING FOOD & MENU & PRESENTATION
A must visit for a vegan in London
Having been here three times this year and everyone I've taken have said how surprised they are with how good the food is and they'd all go again. Although I can't find it anywhere on their website, the menu does seem to change quite regularly as dishes one month were no longer there the next. The food I can't complain about. Some music that suits the restaurant would be nice rather than shouting over the din when busy so people can hear you. There is a large service charge already attached when the service one some occasions hasn't been exceptional. Having to ask for more water numerous times only for it to be warm, and there being an issue with our bill which management knew about but instead of telling us beforehand, waited for us to find them and speak about it. All of that would be fine, if a 12.5% service charge weren't already attached. This isn't America, and service above and beyond wasn't received to warrant it. Would still go again as the food is outstanding and love the industrial diner decor.
Great balance of healthy and not so healthy dishes. Cute decor and chill vibe, fun staff, will definitely go back.
Quirky vegan restaurant not far from
Liverpool Street station. Great vegan food and drink. Wide selection. Burgers were huge. Highly recommended.
Genesis is a diner style place. There were plenty of available tables but we were shown to one immediately next to a very noisy couple which wasn't ideal. It wasn't made clear whether it was table service or order at the counter. It turned out to be table service but call the waiter over. They were always hovering nearby but would never just come over to ask if we needed anything. Once we'd worked it out, it was fairly pleasant service. It was a little frustrating that they didn't even offer us a dessert menu or the bill when they cleared the table. You really have to ask for everything.
The food was excellent but a little overpriced. The tacos are very small but delicious. The portions of fries are generous and tasty but a bit pricey at £5 each. All in we paid £35 for for two tacos, two portions of fries and two 330ml beers plus a discretionary 12.5% service charge which is automatically added to your bill and not pointed out.
Delicious vegan food with lots of gluten free options too. The food came quickly and service was friendly and professional. I will definitely go back again!
Fryer was broken so half of menu was off limits. They brought wrong food then took 40 minutes to bring out the right burger.
This is the second time I have visited Genesis, and I must say there was a vast improvement with the food. It was absolutely delicious! There were still some minor issues with our orders, but the team were great at making sure we were taken care of, and quickly sorted everything out. Recommend the "chicken" sandwich, and the gigantic sundae! :)
Very cool setting with an extensive vegan menu that offered healthy and less healthy options for all tastes. They had run out of a few options when we visited, but there was still plenty of choice and the food was excellent. Be warned - looking at the dessert menu is dangerous!
We were very unlucky, as the frier was out of order on the day of our booking, therefore half of the menu was not available (I'm afraid it was the better half...). We waited a really long time for some of our food (45 minutes for a taco when there are only 4 tables in the whole restaurant seemed a bit long). Food itself was very nice, I would definitely recommend it and would love to come back to taste some more! Good size portions and spot-on flavours. Staff wise: one of the waitresses was extremely nice, very professional and accommodating. Other staff members seemed to have lacked training, as they were not as accommodating - they were rushing us to place orders and 3 different waiters came by to ask if they can take away the menus (we wanted to keep one for a friend we were expecting to arrive any minute). In the end someone just rushed by and snatched it before we had a chance to protest. Well, print more menus if you're running low! Generally speaking though, service was correct, but staff could definitely use some retraining. Hope to see more personalised and attentive service next time I visit, especially if they automatically add service charge on top of the bill.
This was the best vegan food I’ve ever had!
This was the best vegan food I’ve ever had!
amazing as always. such good food, extremely tasty and outstanding quality
Excellent vegan food and the service was amazing, Genesis is ideally situated just a stones throw from Spitalfields Market.
Went with my husband and two children, using a voucher from timeout. Quick service, with enough staff on. Really nice food and impressive menu. A burger on its own would not be enough though, order a side too!
Creative, delicious vegan food. Every dish was a treat.
The service was shambolic and the food took about 40 minutes to arrive despite not being that busy. They seemed to have new staff working who didn't know the menu or the dietary requirements or allergens on each dish which could have resulted in a nasty gluten reaction had one of the other servers not spotted the mistake. We asked for extra 'chorizo' on a Yucatan bowl but had to ask one of the staff to point it to us, only for them to admit it wasn't in there. Fast food, it ain't. Whole experience took nearly 1.5hrs for just two mains and a side.
I had a birthday dinner at Genesis, overall it was good! The menu is great and so big it’s hard to choose something, but that’s not a negative! The decor is lovely and comfortable, the food came out in good timing, however we did all notice that the staff that served us were quite cold, and seemed quite miserable or just unenthusiastic. As someone who works in hospitality in very similar roles I totally understand when the job gets tiring and hard sometimes! But it didn’t seem much of a busy evening and we were all a happy smiley bunch, communicating well with the staff, yet they just seemed very cold and bored of serving! This won’t put me off coming back as I do enjoy the food, and maybe it was just a harder day than normal for the servers!
Amazing restaurant. I will be back sometime very soon.
Amazing place, amazing food, amazing staff!!! Probably my favorite vegan place in London! Thank you!
Just awesome! The food is unbelievably good! I went there with a non vegan/vegetarian friend and he loved it too! There should be more restaurants like this! Can’t wait to go back!!!
I ordered the mac and cheese and Middle Eastern salad; friend ordered Shawarma, fries and peanut butter shake. Everything looked super colourful and cute, like the decor. I felt there was a lot going on in my salad, plus a bit too much mayo generally and oil in the kale base; both dishes were also garlic intense. However, the meal was extremely filling, my friend raved about her shake and the service was warm and welcoming. I would perhaps return if I was in the area and try some of the other dishes.
Lovely staff, amazing decor and gorgeous food! Can’t wait to come back!
Best vegan food I’ve had in a while , the atmosphere was nice .
Very lively, music too loud downstairs. Hard to talk to each other, starter took 40 minutes to arrive. Good vegan choices
Found this on happy cow and loved it!! Brought a non-vegan friend who also agreed.
Really big menu totally vegan. Started with the nachos which had cashew cream and cheese really tasty. The tandoori broccoli also a really tasty hit!
We both had seiten shwarma wich was very delicious salads sauces etc.
Flavours massive selection massive from burgers to salads. Funky pink dinner style decor. New favourite!
The food is sensational. We had the Mexican and wings sharing dishes, a chicken burger and sweet potato fries. I had a brownie for dessert. The flavours were great especially the sauces. I will be going back.
After observing some initial friction between a lady who seemed like the manager and some other customers (the manager came across officious and passive aggressive) we settled in for a very tasty meal. The moroccan salad is surprisingly filling and very tasty and the korean BBQ 'chicken' impressed my carnivorous friend. He also enjoyed the Genesis burger but was a little wanting after deciding not to opt for the £5 fries. I couldn't try the water kefir as they had run out but at £6.50 a pop it was purely out of curiosity (we grow our own for a few spoonfuls of sugar per litre so I wondered what delights justified the exorbitant price). I was also dissappointed for desert as they had run out of ice cream and because our attempts at getting some attention went unnoticed / forgotten we missed out on the cheesecake too. Perhaps it was for the best as it saved me £9!!
massive menu, not used to so many options as a vegan. The interiors, branding and overall aesthetic of the place is really cool. They play good music too.
The have changed their self service to a table service which now has a service charge so on top of their extorniate prices you have to now pay extra. The food was very dry and salty as usual, I used to like this place but now I think it is very expensive for the quality of the food.
Amazing food and really friendly staff would definitely recommend
Great food with a huge variety of options food and drink wise.
My only complaint is the prices. Everything is overpriced by an average of about £2 (expect to pay £7 for a milkshake for eg.)
Disappointed by the experience and the food of the restaurant. Everything is in the amazing decoration, great logo and trendy menu, but no explanations at all of the "meat-free" hot-dog served. Not even impressed by the savors.
Overall, £20 for a veggie hot-dog and sweet potatoes fries is def overpriced.
Great food! The Genesis burger was delicious! Staff were really patient and friendly when taking our order. Would definitely recommend and visit again.
Amazing food, lovely staff and great service. Would definitely go back.
The food was amazing and the servers were very attentive and friendly.
One of the coolest vegan restaurants out there, Genesis, is an absolute treat! The food is great and the atmosphere quite chill. The only downside would be the prices - slightly on the higher side but the team makes up for it in taste, portion sizes and great service!
The place looked nice. My food order was really late and got mixed up twice. Portions were small. Not really worth the price.
Customer service was great, as well as the food. Whole concept of the place stands out from other restaurants, would highly recommend.
