   Enjoyed the Lamb Shepherds Pie, however for £21 and the menu stating 'Buttered Vegetables', I would have expected more veg than just Cabbage !

   Nice warm and friendly welcome by the staff on arrival and shown to our table. A great selection of starters and mains to suit everybody's taste. Drinks order taken and delivered promptly. Our food choices arrived in good time, nice and hot and delicious. The steak and Ale pie, mash and vegetables was very tasty as was the chicken schnitzel and double burger. Very good portions and all served with a smile. Delicious food, great service and value.

   A delightful lunch. Our visit on a bustling Easter Sunday left us thoroughly impressed. The food was exceptional, and the service was remarkably friendly. We appreciated the relaxed atmosphere with no pressure to hurry. The meal offered excellent value, complemented by an extensive wine selection. There is a new menu with some excellent choices. If it is the same as the Easter Sunday lunch there will be no disappointment. This spot has now become a must-visit for us. With Uber now available locally, we have access to many great dining options, and we can't wait to return.

   Untrained staff rude management. Whilst the food was good. The staff have no training table service was very poor in general then, 3/4 of the way through out meal the staff where sent to rearrange the restaurant. For another service the dragged every table they could and were so loud we couldn’t hear each other at the table. When we were leaving a man assuming he is the manager came up and asked if there was a problem in a passive aggressive manner. Instead of just saying “sorry about the racket, I will have a word with the staff and offer them some advice on how to act in the dining room of the restaurant” he said “they have to get ready for service.” Again the food was ok, but completely let down, we have been to the George a few times and always had a good experience.

   Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent experience at our restaurant. We understand how disruptive it can be when staff are rearranging tables during a meal, and we apologise for the inconvenience this caused. Additionally, we were made aware of a situation at the bar where a guest sitting 2 tables away from yours expressed concern about a gentleman being rude and abusive towards our young female staff members. We take such behavior very seriously, and it’s disheartening to hear that our team members were affected. One staff member, in particular, was indeed distressed by the interaction. When we approached you to offer our sincere apology and provide an explanation for the need to rearrange the tables, we noticed that you chose to walk away.

   The George is spotless and welcoming. We enjoyed our Sunday roast. The beef was tasty with plenty of vegetables. We would have appreciated better roast potatoes.

   The pub itself is a beautiful old building in a lovely village setting. Tables in both the front and back gardens had the sun the whole time we were there so we made the most of it and ate outside. Despite having booked a table inside, the staff were super flexible and said it was fine for us to be outdoors, and they helped us to carry out drinks etc. The food was lovely, and the wine was delicious too. The place is also very dog friendly which is a bonus. For us, the stand out was the staff - they were so professional, helpful and accommodating.
